Time Raiders Ending Explained
What Happened in the Present on Time Raiders Ending?
Wu Xie, Xiao Ge, and Wang Pang Zi climbed the moving wall to find a way out before they were crushed to death. At the top, Wu Xie discovered a message scrawled in blood.
It read,
“Wu San Xing left me with nowhere to turn. I died with grievances. Heaven and Earth bear witness.”
The writing was signed by Xie Lian Huan, a member of Chen Wen Jin’s team who was found dead inside a cave. He was the first to find the Snake-Eyebrow Copper Fish token, which Wu San Xing later took from his lifeless hand. Wu Xie was astounded to learn that his favorite uncle might have been a killer.
The trio climbed through a hole and find a zig-zag tunnel. Only then did Xiao Ge realize that they had entered the Death door instead of the Life Gate. Someone has tampered with the symbol. But they were sure that the person wasn’t A Ning.

While the trio was taking a short break inside the tunnel, A Ning found the mirror room. Inside one of the open doors, she found her spy dead with wounds all over his body. She checked his recording and saw footage of the man running for his life alongside Wu San Xing.
The man urged Wu San Xing to continue the mission while he resigned to his fate. But Wu San Xing didn’t abandon him alone and carried him down to the bottom of the ship. The man told Wu San Xing that he was there to monitor him.
Wu San Xing replied by saying that they didn’t seem to be aware of who the real hunter was. Later, the recording shows something dragging the man to his death.
Wang Pang Zi has a theory that Wu Sang Xin might have been possessed by something. According to feng shui, wind and water echo to each other. But the wind halts at the water’s edge. The vengeful spirit inside the shipwreck and Wu San Xing might have merged. They become two souls bound in one body.
After a short break, they continue their journey. Xiao Ge and Wang Pang Zi went together. They thought Wu Xie was following behind them.
But the real Wu Xie was left behind. He was deeply asleep after smelling a fragrance inside the tunnel. When he woke up, Wu Xie had to face the Forbidden Woman alone. He followed the tunnel back to the Twelve-Armed Corpse Pool room and later reunited with Wan Pang Zi and Xiao Ge in a corridor.

The trio returned to the mirror room to find the correct Life gate. Meanwhile, A Ning stumbled upon a room with red coral inside it. Tiny bells were hanging on the branches. And because she made them ring, A Ning was hallucinating. She seemed to see Wu San Xing and desperately run from him.
The trio’s journey through the Life Door wasn’t smooth either because they met the Forbidden woman again. To get out of the shipwreck, they have to climbed the stairs and reached a heavy stone door. As Xiao Ge fought the Forbidden Woman, Wu Xie was dragged away by the sea monkey. Wang Pang Zi tried desperately to save him. In the end, Xiao Ge saved them in the nick of time.
Are they safe now? Not yet. 😁
Suddenly, water rushed in and filled the room. Now they had to swim for their lives.
This drama made me really tired. 😅😅😅
As they swam upward, Wu Xie saw A Ning struggling. Her leg was tangled by a clump of hair. Wu Xie turned back save her, and Wang Pang Zi followed. But just as she was freed, Wu Xie ran out of air, and he began to lose his consciousness. It was Xiao Ge who came to his rescue.
Three days later, Wu Xie found himself in a hospital bed. Wan Pang Zi was there waiting for him. Everything felt like a dream, but his hand was still clutching a strand of hair.
Xiao Ge has already gone, leaving behind a red notebook that belonged to Wu Lao Gou. It seemed that he took it from A Ning. Wu Xie never got to thank him properly or even saying goodbye.
Xiao Ge put some pages full of writing inside Wu Lao Gou’s notebook. They were his speculation about what truly happened with the shipwreck and his uncle.
Xiao Ge believed that Wang Zang Hai also had been experimenting with immortality. He likely has visited Lord Lu Shan’s kiln and obtained the meteorite jade.
Wang Zang Hai used it to make pills and test them on animals. Unexpectedly, they were mutated. Including the Forbidden Woman, who turned out to be a mutated nematode that released hallucinogenic gas.
Wu Xie was clearly upset and Wan Pang Zi tried to comfort him. Wan Pang Zi told Wu Xie that he believed that Wu San Xing was still alive and had his own plan.
Wu San Xing’s determination to returning to the shipwreck was tied to the missing Chen Wen Jin. But whether his motive was love or thirst for treasure and secrets, it was all connected to the Heavenly Palace on the Clouds.
And if Wu Xie wanted to find him, he only had to wait until someone else who searching for the secrets come to him. After all, Wu Xie now held two replicas of the Snake-Eyebrow Copper Fish token.
After the meal, Wu Xie and Wang Pang Zi parted ways. Wang Pang Zi left with a message for Wu Xie. He said that Wu Xie’s name means innocent, but he shouldn’t be naïve. There were bad guys out there, a decent man like Wang Pang Zi was rare.
Wu Xie wrote all his experiences in a journal, following his grandfather’s footsteps. He wondered what his descendants might think of him when they read it one day. For a moment, Wu Xie felt he understand what Wu Lao Gou must have felt when he wrote his notes back then.

Until the end, Wang Pang Zi still believed that the lotion Wu Xie used to heal his back from the arrow’s poison was an imported product. In truth, it was just Wu Xie’s saliva. Wang Pang Zi even promised to find it to replace it. 😂
Somewhere out there, a person was seen logging into a missing-person forum website. He looked up an old photo of the maritime expedition team from twenty years ago and noticed a note underneath. It was said, “The fish is with me”. The man packed his bag and left the room, revealing himself to be Pan Zi.
Meanwhile, A Ning was driving when she received a call from her boss. She told him that Wu San Xing has tricked them. He had known that they would send someone to the shipwreck again, so he set a trap.
Wu San Xing was not on the shipwreck. Therefore he must have gotten what he wanted and escaped. However, A Ning found a flaw in Wu San Xing’s plan. He never thought that Wu Xie would save her.
Wu San Xing returned home. But there was someone inside the house, another Wu San Xing. Two men with the same face, yet completely different temperaments. The calm Wu San Xing rebuked his other self for being reckless and ruining everything. He is even putting Wu Xie’s life in danger.
But the other Wu San Xing refused to be blamed. He snapped back, saying that it was the other him who dragged Wu Xie into the mess in the first place. He argued that Wu San Xing’s methods have trapped them both in an endless cycle.
At the end, they kept arguing until they agreed that even though they were unwilling, they had to keep on going. The Wu San Xing, who just returned, said that he had figured out how to enter the Heavenly Palace. He will find Chen Wen Jin, while the other Wu San Xing stay behind to clean up the mess for him.
What Happened in the Past on Time Raiders Ending?
What happened in the past was unveiled after Xiao Ge regained his memories. Xiao Ge, whose real name is Zhang Qi Ling, used to be a member of the maritime expedition led by Chen Wen Jin. But back then, Zhang Qi Ling was a quiet person, barely noticeable. Therefore, even Wu San Xing didn’t remember him.

During that expedition, Wu San Xing had his own hidden agenda. He wasn’t just there to help with the expedition, but also to find the legendary Heavenly Palace on the Clouds. He secretly colluded with Xie Lian Hua. And to keep their plan hidden from the rest of the team, they pretended not to know each other.
After they arrived at the island, Wu San Xing and Xie Lan Hua entered the shipwreck. They managed to reach the bottom of the ship and find the mirror.
However, Xie Lian Hua was too excited by the discovery. He chose the Death Door, and Wu San Xing used the chance to trap him between the moving walls. As he refused to give up, Xie Lian Hua climbed up. Somehow, he managed to dig a tunnel that led him to the Twelve-Armed Corpse room.
Unfortunately, he still died when he met Wu San Xing again at the cave. Wu San Xing didn’t have the time to hide the body. So, he staged it as if Xie Lian Hua died by accident before joining the team and pretended to be shocked.
Later, when the storm hit, the team had no choice but to enter the cave. Wu San Xing quietly manipulates them, so they follow his lead to the shipwreck. Inside the pool chamber, they found that the ballast stones were covered in carvings.
Zhang Qi Ling realized that the carvings depicted the construction of the Heavenly Palace in the Clouds. While the others were focused on the discovery, Wu San Xing leaned against a pillar and seemed deeply asleep.

Zhang Qi Ling wanted to investigate further inside the ship. Chen Wen Jin stopped him. The rest of the team sided with Zhang Qi Ling. They were also eager to find the Heavenly Palace.
Eventually, Chen Wen Jin agreed. The whole team knew that Wu San Xing, as their safety coordinator, would oppose their idea. So, they decided to leave quietly while he was sleeping. But as soon as they were gone, Wu San Xing opened his eyes. He was only pretending to sleep.
The team managed to find the mirror room at the bottom of the ship. They didn’t linger for long. However, when they were about to leave, Zhang Qi Ling suddenly disappeared.
Instead of him, they found Wu San Xing eerily combing his hair before the mirror. He seemed to be possessed by a female ghost. When he saw Huo Ling, Wu San Xing went mad, screaming and running away before he disappeared.
Later, Zhang Qi Ling found the hidden mechanism that controlled eight doors: Opening, Rest, Life, Death, Obstruction, Scenery, Injury, and Fear. The Life Door offers survival, while the Death brings them to doom.
The remaining doors will trap them in an endless loop. The team led by Chen Wen Jin managed to find the Life door. But as they entered the door, a strange fragrance filled the air. One by one, they collapsed. The last one is Zhang Qi Ling.
In a daze, the last person he saw was the smiling Wu San Xing. The possession was just an act. He had planned to lure them into the corridor before he drugged them all.
When Zhang Qi Lin woke up, he was in a hospital bed. He lost his memories, and they only returned months later as scattered visuals. For twenty years, Zhang Qi Lin tried to find his missing teammates. But his attempt was futile.
Then fate brought him face-to-face with Wu San Xing. Zhang Qi Ling only felt that he was familiar. And yet, Wu San Xing didn’t recognize him at all.
Zhang Qi Ling told Wu Xie that his uncle had been hiding things. Lord Lu Shan and the silk manuscript were fake because Wu San Xing had swapped them himself.
On the ending, He and Da Kui had dug the tree directly to the coffin’s base. And because he knows too much, Da Kui ended up dead. Wu Xie was left completely confused. The uncle he trusted so much suddenly felt like a stranger.
My Two Cents
Okay, I’m a bit confused here. Wu Xie and Wan Pang Zi believed that the zigzag tunnel was dug by Xie Lian Huan. But the thing is, the tunnel was really long. How could a person could dig something like that without any tools? And he supposedly did it in such a short time.
As far as I remember, Xie Lian Huan wasn’t missing for a long time, maybe just 24 hours or so. That task was impossible to do. Am I missing something here? Can anybody explain this part to me?
Time Raiders successfully made me crave the second season. Even my husband got excited because apparently, he’s been a fan of Francis Ng’s for ages. As for me? I just want to know the ending. Who exactly is A Ning’s boss?
Is Pan Zi a good guy or not? What’s Xiao Ge’s real identity? And who on earth is the second Wu San Xing? Which one is the real him? The hot headed one? Or the calm one? Oh boy, this is driving me nuts.
Anyway… That wraps up the Ending Explained for Time Raiders. The story may have ended, but the suspense still lingered in my mind. I think you might feel the same way, right? Well, thank you so much for stopping by. I’ll see you again in my next drama review or Ending Explained post. Until then, happy watching!
