What Happened to Su Lin and Vincent on Ren Yu Ending?
Su Lin planned to take the college entrance exam. But for it, she needed an ID for the registration. She went to the municipal office to ask for replacement. And when she got there, she found out shocking news.
Her family had filed her death certificate. So basically, Su Lin was non-existent right now. Her dream to enter college shattered. Her parents had gone beyond abandoning her.
Unexpectedly, Vincent has an answer. He took her to a place where they could make a fake IDs. But they needed 3,000 yuan for it. It was a huge amount of money, so Su Lin needs a plan to get it.
When they returned to the tunnel, Su Lin and Vincent saw many police officers. They hid because Vincent was scared. When they entered the chamber, Vincent suddenly panicked after seeing Gu Hao’s vacuum flask that was left behind.
Suspicious about Vincent’s reaction, Su Lin started connecting his fear of the police with the Weihong Canal murders. She remembered the time Vincent strangled her. And later when she asked whether he knew the women. Vincent didn’t answer but cried.
In his own way, Vincent told Su Lin that he knew the women but didn’t kill them. They were asleep when he saw them. Su Lin couldn’t understand what he meant when he gestured with his hand and why he frantically repeated, “Protect Xiao Lan”.

Su Lin did a wonderful job as Little Mermaid because her English was better than Ma Na. But then Ma Na appeared at the hall, looking disheveled and furious. But when she saw Su Lin, her fury changed into fear. In her desperation, she told the principal to stop the performance.
Embarrassed, the principal told Ma Na to get off the stage. Su Lin stepped forward and said that she wasn’t there to cause trouble. She was there to compete. Then she bowed to the audience, stared intently at the principal, and ran away.
Several boys from her school chased her. Su Lin was saved by Jiang Ting, who took her through the dressing room and led her to the back door. When the boys arrived, Jiang Ting held the door while telling Su Lin to run. Everything between them had come full circle. Jiang Ting smiled while she saw Su Lin ran away from her.
Su Lin ran back to the train station, but Vincent wasn’t there. Earlier Vincent realized that Su Lin’s Little Mermaid poster had been left in the tunnel. He frantically left the train station, forgetting Su Lin’s message to wait for her. On the way, someone called him. His features were hidden under the baseball cap and face mask.
Meanwhile, Su Lin couldn’t find Vincent at the train station and decided to go down into the tunnel to find him. In the dark, she saw him carrying a woman’s body while following a mysterious man. Only then Su Lin understands that Vincent fear of the police truly connected to the murders.
She secretly followed them to the place Vincent had been afraid of. The door was not completely closed, so Su Lin could see what happened inside. Vincent put the woman’s body on a mattress. The mysterious man prepared cameras while Vincent crouched in fear.
Then he went to Vincent and told him that it was the same rule. Vincent would take the pill and receive money. But this time, Vincent refused. Angry, the man shoved the pill into his mouth.
Soon, Vincent became uncontrollable. He banged his head and screamed. Then the man told Vincent to take the woman’s clothes off. But Vincent recognizes the clothes, it was the same as Su Lin’s uniform.
Vincent thought the woman was Su Lin. He refused and kept screaming, “Xiao Lan”. Su Lin could finally saw the mysterious man’s face between the camera flashes. It was Zhou Xi Jie.
Angry that Vincent refused to obey, Zhou Xi Jie smashed his head with a bottle. Blood streamed down his temple. Vincent then took a plastic toy gun from his pocket and pointed it at Zhou Xi Jie. He said, “Living is happy. Death isn’t happy.” Vincent pulled the trigger, and a plastic bullet hit Zhou Xi Jie, making him furious. Zhou Xi Jie started beating Vincent.
Seeing the situation was bad for Vincent, Su Lin ran to call the police. Meanwhile, Vincent managed to escape from the room. He kept muttering, “Find Xiao Lan at the train station.”, while running through dark tunnel. Zhou Xi Jie chase after him.
Su Lin had to hid behind a barred gate. As Su Lin and Vincent exchanged glances, she told him to come and hide with her. But Vincent refused. He knows that if he stayed, the bad man would find Su Lin. So, he gritted his teeth and ran away. Su Lin’s tears dropped one by one. She knew what he was doing. Vincent was sacrificing himself to keep her hidden.
She cried, but Vincent smiled.
Vincent reaches the upper ground and almost got hit by Tai Wei’s car. He ran through the streets, Tai Wei and Captain Wang chased after him through the small and dark alleys. Down below, Su Lin followed Vincent’s voice that echoed through the tunnels. Then the voice stopped.
Su Lin climbed on a stair that led to a small water gate. There, she saw Vincent get hit by a car. His body was thrown into the air before crashing onto the ground. Unconsciously, Su Lin reached out her hand from behind the bars. Her eyes wide open, and tears began to fall one by on as she watched Vincent’s life begins to slip away. His eyes were fixed on her and his last words were “Xiao Lan”.
After recovering from her shock, Su Lin decided to check on the woman and was shocked because it was Ma Na. She kept begging Su Lin to let her go. But Su Lin dragged her to a different part of the tunnel and tied her to a post. She kept Ma Na there for a few days while she looks for information outside.
On the upper ground, Su Lin went to the police station. On the way, she read the newspaper headline saying that the Weihong Canal murder suspect had been killed in a traffic accident. Vincent was now officially stated as the killer according to the result of DNA testing.
When she saw Zhou Xi Jie was walking freely outside the police station, Su Lin decided to make Zhou Xi Jie pay for Vincent’s life. She must show the world the truth behind Vincent’s death. For others, Vincent might be nothing more than a rat. But for Su Lin, he was the one who helped her survive during her darkest time.
When she works on her plan, Su Lin met Gu Hao at the tunnel. Only then did Su Lin know that Gu Hao had been looking for her, just because she called him “Uncle.” Su Lin said that she didn’t want to return. Her parents had abandoned her, and she didn’t have a home anymore.
Gu Hao responded by saying that she should live with him and Du Qian. They would raise her as their daughter. It was a tempting offer for Su Lin, who longed for a home and family. But she couldn’t do it right now because she had something to do first. She promised Gu Hao that she will find him later.
Gu Hao tried to chase her, but Su Lin was nowhere to be seen. He didn’t know that Su Lin’s heart was aching knowing that someone truly cared for her.
Su Lin told Ma Na to get ready for revenge. She had been thinking a plan to make Zhou Xi Jie expose himself. It was a carefully orchestrated plan. Su Lin lured Zhaou Xi Jie to the tunnel, knocked him unconscious, and then called Ma Dong Chen so he would come to save his daughter. Meanwhile, she arranged for Gu Hao to find Ma Na under the Litong Bridge.
Su Lin made sure that the police will found Zhou Xi Jie at the chamber where he made Vincent do terrible things under the influence of drugs. She trapped Zhou Xi Jie and Ma Dong Chen in a situation that eventually allowed the police to arrest them both.
When the police appear, Su Lin was nowhere to be seen. Later, Tai Wei gave Gu Hao Su Lin’s diary. Inside was a letter for him. Su Lin apologized and said she knew Gu Hao meant every word when he offered her a home. She admitted that she wanted that ordinary life.
But Su Lin had to choose another path because of Vincent. After watching Zhou Xi Jie kill him, she couldn’t simply walk away and pretend nothing had happened. She needed to make the world to see the truth.
She ended the letter by thanking Gu Hao, the Jiangs, and Yang Le. They were proof that, despite everything she had suffered, Su Lin was loved. Su Lin has decided to leave, but she promised him that she would live a good life.

What Happened to Zhou Xi Jie on Ren Yu Ending?
Zhou Xi Jie looked like a cultured man from a respectable family. He had a good job, a family, and a trustworthy appearance. Event he police initially had no reason to suspect him. But his profile fit the professor description about the killer. So he was also called to the police station.
After drawing the blood sample, Zhou Xi Jie return to his personal apartment. He closed the windows, took a videotape from a cabinet, loosened his clothes, and watched the footage. It showed him taking pictures of a woman in a black dress.
She looked pretty and attractive, but in the final photo, she suddenly screamed after seeing a face peeking at the window. It was Vincent. And the woman was one of the murder victims.
Zhou Xi Jie married into a respectable family. But his marriage was far from a happy one. His wife looked down on him and nobody in the house took him seriously. So he began fulfilling his desires by photographing women at his personal apartment.
Then Vincent accidentally appeared at his window. Instead of turning him in, Zhou Xi Jie waited until Vincent returned to collect his bag. He gives Vincent money for food and necessities. And Vincent began treating Zhou Xi Jie like his master and obeying his orders. That included assaulting the women Zhou Xi Jie brought to him.
Those women trusted Zhou Xi Jie enough to enter his car. But once inside, he sedates them. After Vincent assaulted them under the influence of drugs, Zhou Xi Jie killed them by strangling their neck with a wire.
All this time, Zhou Xi Jie manipulated Vincent into believing that he wasn’t hurting the women. He was helping them, making them happy. that was how Zhou Xi Jie turned Vincent into an unwitting accomplice. But on his last victim, Ma Na, Vincent refused to follow his order because he remembered what Su Lin had taught him, “Death is pain. Life is happy.”
After Zhou Xi Jie ran Vincent over and killed him, he cooperated with the police investigation and pretended to regret hindering their work. But he couldn’t help asking whether Vincent was really the killer and how many women he had killed. The police gave him no answer and that was enough to put his mind at ease. At least temporarily.
But Zhou Xi Jie’s biggest problem was that he thought he was smarter than everyone else. Tai Wei and Captain Wang have already started suspecting him. So when Tai Wei discovered that Zhou Xi Jie’s photo receipts have the same date with the murder, he put him under the police surveillance.
And Zhou Xi Jie also start to wary when he saw Tai Wei’s expression and decided to stay at home while worrying about Ma Na.
Five days since he kidnapped Ma Na, Zhou Xi Jie went to the school on pretext of saying goodbye. Form the teacher he learned that Ma Na is still missing.
But then his phone rings and an anonymous voice told him that someone saw him on the tunnel and the woman was still alive. Tai Wei immediately returned to the tunnel to make sure. Instead, Su Lin’s trap was waiting for him.
Zhou Xi Jie survived and eventually arrested after police searched his apartment and found evidence of his crimes, including recordings of Vincent assaulting the women under his control.
His background revealed more about the resentment he had carried for years. His wife mocked the poems he wrote, worsening his insecurity and sensitivity.
Zhou Xi Jie also suffered from sexual dysfunction, a heredity condition in his family. Zhou Xi Jie sought satisfaction through controlling others. In the end, Zhou Xi Jie was sentenced to death after he show no remorse for his crimes.

What Happened to Ma Dong Chen and Ma Na on Ren Yu Ending?
Ma Dong Chen spent most of his time trying to protect Ma Na from the consequences of what she had done. But his attempts only made everything worse. He believed that Su Lin is dead, and one of the bodies found on the tunnel could be hers.
When he realized Gu Hao was investigating Su Lin’s disappearance, he tried to have the old man transferred out of town. Gu Hao refused. On the other hand, Ma Na receives Su Lin’s white shoes along with an anonymous letter demanding 3,000 yuan.
If she didn’t pay, the sender will report her and her father for killing someone. Ma Na failed to find the person blackmailing her, and never realized that the person was Su Lin herself.
Because of this, Ma Na arrived late for the final rehearsal. Zhou Xi Jie harshly told her that she didn’t deserve the lead role. But Ma Na, unusually, kept silent and simply stood at the stage with empty eyes.
The recitation contest finally arrived. But for Ma Na it was a mess because Su Lin appeared. She demanded Principal Dong to catch Su Lin, but she managed to run away with Jiang Ting’s help.
When Ma Na confronted Jiang Ting and her mother, Jiang Yu Shu, she was shocked when Jiang Yu Shu sternly warned her to never bully Jiang Ting again.
Terrified, Ma Na ran to Principal Dong, only to find him fed up with her entitled behaviour. Left alone in the empty hall, she finally broke down crying, unaware that a camera was recording everything.
While Ma Na was facing a setback, Ma Dong Chen took Gu Hao to a deserted place. He talked about giving him money, but Gu Hao refused. The old man revealed that he already knew the truth about Ma Na pushing Su Lin into the tunnel, also about Ma Dong Chen threatening the Sus and covering the manhole.
Gu Hao advised Ma Dong Chen to go to the police to confess. Ma Dong Chen agreed. But it was only a trick.
Inside the car, he attacked Gu Hao. After checking and believing that Gu Hao was dead, Ma Dong Chen buried him beneath wooden beams. He then went into hiding, planning to flee to LA with his family under the pretext of sending Ma Na abroad.
But Ma Na never made it home that day because Zhou Xi Jie kidnapped her and have Vincent took her to the tunnel. Ma Na was saved from sexual assault because Vincent ran away.
But after Su Lin learned that the kidnapped victim was her, she was held hostage inside the tunnel for days. Ma Na was scared out of her wits. For the first time, the girl who always been protected and indulged, experienced what it felt like to be completely helpless.
Meanwhile, Ma Dong Chen eventually decided to turn himself in. But Su Lin called and told him Ma Na was in danger. She gave him instructions to enter the tunnel and follow the arrows on the wall that took him to Zhou Xi Jie’s secret chamber.
Ma Dong Chen thought Ma Na was behind the floodgate. Instead, he found Zhou Xi Jie hanging behind the door. A wire wraps around his neck and is connected to the handwheel.
The police arrived soon afterward and arrested Ma Dong Chen. His eyes were empty until Tai Wei told him that Ma Na was safe. Only then did he break down and cry.
In the ending, Ma Dong Chen was later sentenced to life in prison for faking Su Lin’s death certificate, assaulting other, and also murder attempt. As for Ma Na and her friends, they were expelled from school and referred to the police.
After everything she went through, Ma Na become the helpless one. Her shock and trauma were great, but she had Han Mei taking care of her. And perhaps that was the first time she truly understood what Su Lin had gone through.
What Happened to Gu Hao and the Jiangs on Ren Yu Ending?
Jiang Ting finally decided to tell Gu Hao and the Su family the truth about what happen to Su Lin. But instead of accepting the truth, Su Wei Guo insisted that Su Lin had gone home that night and nothing had happened to her.
Zhang Cui Yun, on the other hand, broke down when she was Su Lin’s pencil case. Yet, Su Wei Guo eventually kicked everyone out of his house.
Soon afterward, Zhang Cui Yun secretly went to Gu Hao for help. She begged him to find Su Lin but refuse to go to the police because she was afraid Su Wei Guo would be arrested. Gu Hao was stunned.
He realized that her tears weren’t really about finding Su Lin. They were about her guilt. So he told Zhang Cui Yun that he would still search for Su Lin, not because of Zhang Cui Yun, but because Su Lin regarded him as her family.
Gu Hao then told Tai Wei about Su Lin’s disappearance, believing it might be connected to the murders. He continued searching the tunnel with Jiang Ting’s help. They eventually found another murder victim.
Meanwhile, to keep her daughter out of the danger, Jiang Yu Shu promised to take the matter into her hand. She then entered the tunnel with Gu Hao. this time, they found the chamber where Su Lin and Vincetnt had been living.
Seeing Su Lin’s name in the book brought relief, but Gu Hao also realized that she wasn’t alone. He feared Vincent might be connected to the killer and that Su Lin was in danger. But when he returned later, both Su Lin and Vincent were gone.
On the contest day, Jiang Ting determined to help Su Lin escaped from the school. Watching Su Lin leave with a smile made Jiang Ting happy, as if a huge burden had finally been lifted from her shoulders.
Meanwhile, Gu Hao never gave up either. Even after Ma Dong Chen severely injured him, he continued the investigation. Later, he went to the tunnel and finally saw Su Lin.
To the girl, he offered a warm home and family. Gu Hao promised to raise her as her daughter, alongside Du Qian. But Su Lin refused to return with him because she still had something important to do.
After that, Gu Hao determined to propose to Du Qian. He said he wanted her in his life and become his wife. Gu Hao told Du Qian that he remembered Su Lin telling him that it was nice to have a warm home.
And because the one who hold him back is his deceased best friend (and Du Qian’s late husband), Gu Hao told Du Qian that if she agreed, he would tell Tai Wei Liang at his grave about their marriage.
But on the next day, before that could happen, Su Lin called and asked him to fetch her at the bridge. Instead of Su Lin, Gu Hao found the unconscious Ma Na by the riverbank.
Meanwhile, Jiang Yu Shu and Jian Ting prepared to go to the court hearing. This is the day when the judge decided whether Jiang Ting’s custody will remain on her mother or she must follow her father.
Just before they leave the house, Gu Hao called Jiang Yu Shu. He asked her to go to the tunnel and wait for Su Lin. He needed someone he trusted to stop her from doing anything until the police arrived.
Jiang Yu Shu ultimately went to the tunnel herself. There, she encountered Ma Dong Chen and tried to stop him from opening the floodgate. Furious, Ma Dong Chen attacked her and knocked her down.
The trap was finally triggered, and Zhou Xi Jie was caught by the wire. Jiang Yu Shu was shocked to see a man hanging behind the door. A police officer had to support her home because Jiang Yu Shu was too weak to walk.
After everything ended, Gu Hao went to the grave, but Du Qian was not there. While Jiang Yu Shu entered the house and saw her daughter there but was too afraid to ask about the judge’s decision.
Gu Hao finally got the answer when he opened his door and saw Du Qian on his living room, watering the flower. Jiang Yu Shu finally got the courage to ask about Jiang Ting’s decision. It turned out that Jiang Ting told the court that she just wanted to stay with her mother. The judge followed her decision.
And that was the happy ending for Gu Hao and the Jiangs.
What Happened to Tai Wei and Captain Wang on Ren Yu Ending?
The police investigation finally connected the pieces of the Weihong Canal murder case. Using DNA from the semen found on the victims and the killer profile created by Professor Qiao, they identified 71 men in Chaobei who fit the description and called them in for blood test. One of them was Zhou Xi Jie.
Captain wang immediately becomes suspicious because Zhou XiJie fit the profile almost perfectly. He was cultured, respectable, and had a private place away from his family. Tai Wei also felt the same, especially after learning about Zhou Xi Jie’s habit of collecting movie posters. However, Zhou Xi Jie’s DNA didn’t match.
The investigation then led them to Vincent, a drifter who had been living in t he underground tunnels. After Vincent was killed by a car, the police found his DNA on the victims. Everything seemed to point on him. But Tai Wei and Captain Wang weren’t convinced. Something didn’t add up.
They got a few more day to continue the investigation before the director close the case and declare Vincent as the killer. Eventually, they found evidence connected to Zhou Xi Jie.
It was photo receipts from around the time of the murders. Tai Wei became increasingly suspicious and secretly had Zhou Xi Jie watched.
Meanwhile, Tai Wei and Captain Wang now put Su Lin’s name in the investigation board. The police eventually discovered that Zhou Xi Jie had been using Vincent to commit the murders. It was Su Lin who helped them arrest Zhou Xi Jie and Ma Dong Chen.
From Zhou Xi Jie personal apartment, they found the evidence to prove the truth. The photographs, recordings, fingerprints, and other evidence connected him directly to the crimes.
In the end, Zhou Xi Jie was the real killer. Vincent had been involved, but he was not the mastermind. He had been manipulated into helping Zhou Xi Jie without fully understanding what he was doing.
The case was solved, but justice came too late for the person who needed it most.
