The Prisoner of Beauty Ending Explained
What Happened to Qiao Man and Wei Shao on The Prisoner of Beauty ending?
Qiao Man secretly asked Bi Zhi to build a hidden path between Xiaogang and Liancheng. But the plan backfired when Liu Yan discovered it and used the route to launch simultaneous attacks on Panyi and Liancheng. This setback cooled the improving relationship between Wei Shao and Qiao Man.

Seeking guidance, Wei Shao visited Lady Xu, hesitating to send troops because he doubted whether the Wei and Qiao clans could truly put aside their bitter past. Lady Xu advised him to repay hatred with kindness. Qiao Man regretted never fully trusting Wei Shao despite his sincere efforts. She spent the night preparing shoes for him, a small gesture of her feelings.
Determined, Qiao Man decided to travel to Bo Ya to request reinforcements. When she told Wei Shao, he remained silent and left Yujun. Lady Xu gave Qiao Man permission to go, and she departed with 500 soldiers and Wei Xiao to assist her.
Upon arriving in Bo Ya, Qiao Man explained her concerns and plea for help. But Qiao Da refused, worried for Bi Zhi’s safety. Bo Ya had only 20,000 troops against Liu Yan’s 100,000 soldiers. Qiao Fan feared it would send Bi Zhi to his death.
Amidst the tension, Qiao Fan’s words struck Qiao Man deeply. Qiao Fan confessed she was not a woman of grand ambitions; her only wish was to protect one person, which is Bi Zhi.
Unlike Qiao Man, who urged her husband to fight and die for their clan and people, Qiao Fan said she would give her life for Qiao Man as her dearest cousin but could not force Bi Zhi to do the same. She refused to use love as an excuse to make him sacrifice himself.
When Bi Zhi arrived, Qiao Man told him she had seen them living peaceful lives and wanted nothing more from her. Heartbroken, Qiao Man left Bo Ya while Qiao Fan wept.
Qiao Man regretted she could not be like Qiao Fan, whose love was simpler and purer, focused solely on protecting her husband. As she walked outside, watching children play with water, an idea struck her: to flood Liu Yan’s troops.
When Liu Yan’s reinforcements arrived at the Yang River, Qiao Man convinced General Lin there was an ambush ahead. The general, unwilling to risk his troops, decided to withdraw.
Meanwhile, Wei Shao could not stop thinking about Qiao Man, though he denied it. Gongsung Yang noticed his distraction. When Qiao Ci suggested they return to Kangjun together, Wei Shao refused and instead asked Qiao Ci to bring Qiao Man to see her family while he returned to Yujun with his troops.

During the journey, they met Bi Zhi, who was hunting a deer. Realizing Qiao Man was traveling with only a few guards, Wei Shao chased her back to Kangjun. They unexpectedly met at an inn.
Upon seeing her, Wei Shao immediately embraced Qiao Man but, in his anxiety, scolded her harshly to vent his worries. Qiao Man was angry that her fulfilling a promise earned her a scolding. Once again, they parted on bad terms.
Wei Shao’s entourage could only shake their heads at their esteemed leaders’ stupidity. Fortunately, the tension was short-lived. Wei Shao came to Qiao Man’s room and admitted his mistake. She expressed her love for him. Wei Shao finally understood how fragile Qiao Man’s position was. All this time, she was caught between two clans and countries. Any slight shift could hurt her first.
Wei Shao then realized that losing her would make even conquering the world meaningless. Wei Shao vowed to accompany her to Kangjun. Qiao Man sealed their reconciliation with a kiss.
At Kangjun, Qiao Man, Wei Shao, Qiao Ci, Bi Zhi, and Qiao Fan reunited. Qiao Yue treated Bi Zhi coldly, while only Qiao Ping, Qiao Man’s father, welcomed him warmly as family. Qiao Yue softened only after Wei Shao called Bi Zhi his brother-in-law. That day, Qiao Man and Qiao Fan mended their strained relationship, but still remain distant.
In Kangjun, Wei Shao witnessed Qiao Ping’s wisdom firsthand. Qiao Ping sheltered refugees from Liangya, feeding and protecting them. Wei Shao saw that Qiao Ping’s heart was as gentle and kind as Qiao Man’s. For the first time, he called Qiao Ping “father” and bowed as a son-in-law.
Qiao Ping was overjoyed to see how well his son-in-law treated his daughter. But Wei Shao remained distant from Qiao Yue despite his efforts to win favor.
Their nights in Kangjun brought joy to the couple. Wei Shao, who promised to fulfill all Qiao Man’s wishes, only asked one thing from her, a child. In return, Qiao Man promised him a house full of children and happiness. This was their first intimate night together.
Before they left Kangjun, Wei Shao addressed Qiao Yue as Governor but called Qiao Ping father. Suddenly, Qiao Ping bowed toward Wei State and honored the spirits of Wei Shao’s grandfather, father, and brother. To Wei Shao, he admitted that the Battle of Xindu was the Qiao Clan’s fault.
Wei Shao was moved by his sincerity and said that the grudge had long been resolved by Lady Xu, his grandmother. Qiao Ping entrusted his precious Man Man to Wei Shao’s protection, wishing that she live a joyful life.
Since the battle with Liu Yan, the Wei family accepted Qiao Man as one of their own, allowing her into the ancestral hall. Lady Zhou treated Qiao Man like a daughter-in-law, hoping they would have children soon.

Both Wei Shao and Qiao Man hoped to have children. When Qiao Man’s period was late, she sensed she was pregnant but did not tell him immediately. Meanwhile, Wei Shao’s mother told him that Qiao Man would likely to conceive if he placed a garment once worn by a pregnant woman under their bed.
After much effort, he managed to have Qiao Fan’s clothes and secretly put it under their bed. Seconds after he put it, Qiao Man revealed her pregnancy. Wei Shao’s surprised expression brightened as he exclaimed, “No way, is it really that effective?” 🤣🤣🤣
While Wei Shao and Qiao Man basked in happiness, tensions grew in Kangjun. Rumors painted Prefect Qiao Ping as wise and just, while Governor Qiao Yue was seen as envious, useless, and timid. These rumors infuriated Qiao Yue.
Zhang Pu made matters worse by mentioning Qiao Man’s pregnancy, which would make Qiao Ping the heir’s maternal grandfather, threatening Qiao Yue’s position and Yanzhou’s stability.
Liu Yan met with Qiao Yue in Yanzhou, declaring his plan to kill Wei Shao and leave Qiao Ping without support, securing Qiao Yue’s rule. Qiao Yue tried to persuade Qiao Ping to surrender to Liu Yan, but Qiao Ping remained loyal to the alliance with Wei and scolded Qiao Yue as a traitor.
During their argument, Qiao Ping suddenly clutched his chest in pain and collapsed. It was later revealed that Zhang Pu had poisoned him with drugs from Liu Yan. Qiao Yue also imprisoned Qiao Ci and the rest of Qiao Clan members.
The first step in conquering Wei Shao was complete. Next, Liu Yan planned to use Bi Zhi, holding Qiao Fan hostage to force Bi Zhi to kill Wei Shao. Bi Zhi reluctantly obeyed. When Wei Liang came to fetch Qiao Ping by the order of Wei Shao, he encountered strange situation. When he asked to see Bi Zhi and Qiao Fan, Bi Zhi suddenly attacked him, revealing Qiao Yue’s alliance with Liu Yan.
Meanwhile, Qiao Ci escaped with Madam Ding’s help and met Wei Liang, bloodied and dying. Wei Liang handed Qiao Ci an orchid and urged him to flee before dying.
Qiao Ci arrived at Yujun wounded, bearing the news of Wei Liang’s death. Xiao Tao refused to believe it and scolded him harshly. With tears, Qiao Ci revealed the full truth: Qiao Yue’s betrayal, the imprisonment of Qiao Fan, Madam Ding, and Qiao Ci himself, and Bi Zhi’s forced betrayal. Qiao Ping was now blind. A report from Panyi soon followed. Enraged, Wei Shao ordered his troops to prepare for battle the next day.
Drowned in sorrow and guilt, Wei Qu ask permission to bring back Wei Liang’s body. Wei Shao ordered him to go to Kangjun and find Qiao Ping and bring back Wei Liang. To shock to hear the news, Qiao Man fainted. When she wakes up, Qiao Man feel guilty for making him lost a brother.
Wei Shao hesitates to say that he will go to war, but she understands even before he asked. Wei Shao asked h er to take care of the family and the baby on his behalf. Wei Xiao and Wei Duo stay at Yujun to protect the city and the family. while the rest went to war.
At the corner of the courtyard, Xiao Tao cried over Wei Liang’s death. Qiao Ci came and comforted her.

Yang Feng learned that Liu Yan planned to destroy the Yongning Canal. Desperate, Yang Feng attempted to assassinate Liu Yan but failed. In a final act, he took Qiao Yue hostage, intending to kill him. However, Liu Yan showed no concern for Qiao Yue and with a single strike killed them both.
Wei Xiao brought news to Lady Xu that Su E Huang had brought Zhongzhou troops to attack Yujun. Qiao Man suggested alerting the border generals so they could support each other. She also proposed posting notices calling on the people to defend Yujun together. Furthermore, she recommended opening the city gates for two days, allowing those who wished to leave to do so safely.
This aligned perfectly with Lady Xu’s principle of putting the people first, so she readily agreed. Before the meeting adjourned, Qiao Man began showing signs of labor.
The birth was difficult. Before she could rest, another report arrived: Yunzhong, Rongjun, and Hanjun had fallen. The Wei forces lacked enough soldiers to resist Su E Huang’s troops. Despite this, Lady Xu still urged Qiao Man to leave.
Qiao Man stood firm. “I am the Lady of Wei. Yujun is my home, and I will stand with the people.” Lady Zhu echoed her resolve, saying she would not leave either. Together, the three Ladies of Wei stood hand in hand, ready to face whatever fate awaited them.
Wei Shao faced a difficult choice: attack Panyi to secure the Yongning canal or return to defend Yujun and his family. Remembering Qiao Man’s words about his grandfather choosing the people, he decided to march on Panyi.
Meanwhile, Wei Qu arrived in Kangjun to retrieve Wei Liang’s body and rescue Qiao Ping. It was a perilous mission. He fought through many enemies and lost an arm in the struggle but, driven by his promise to bring Wei Liang home, he pressed on fiercely with one hand.
Together, Wei Qu and Qiao Ping persuaded soldiers who tried to stop them. Wei Qu revealed that the Lord of Yanzhou had been killed by Liu Yan, making Qiao Ping the rightful Lord of Yanzhou. The soldiers pledged their loyalty. Qiao Ping declared Yanzhou would no longer ally with Liangya and ordered troops to reclaim Panyi. He also ordered them to prepare a coffin for Wei Liang.
News arrived that Wei Shao had marched to Panyi. Qiao Man believed that Wei Shao had not abandoned them. He was doing what a true lord must do. Still, Yujun’s defenses were weak, led only by young generals Wei Xiao, Wei Duo, and Qiao Ci.
Just as hope seemed to wane, Wei Yan appeared at their gates with his loyal generals. They were only less than ten, but they are a crucial reinforcement. Lady Xu and the others welcomed them gratefully.
At Panyi, Wei Shao faced Bi Zhi in fierce combat. Wei Shao hesitated to hurt him, knowing Bi Zhi was precious to Qiao Fan, who in turn was also important to Qiao Man. In a tragic turn, it was Qiao Fan who saved them by sacrificed herself to free Bi Zhi from Liu Yan’s control. Grief and fury ignited in Bi Zhi, who then sided with Wei Shao. Together, they defeated Liu Yan, ending the war.
In the end peace gradually returned. With all the states prospering, the water of the Yang River flowed freely through the Yongning Canal. The Lords of the States appointed Wei Shao as Lord of the Central Plains.
Years later, the Yongning Canal brought immense benefits across the land. Freed from strife and hatred, the world flourished. Wei Shao fulfilled his promise and happily traveling the world to accompany Qiao Man.
What Happened to Wei Yan on The Prisoner of Beauty ending?
Wei Yan decided to return to the Bianzhou as Chen Pang’s son. When Liu Yan attack Liancheng and Panyi, he asked Chen Pang to help Wei State, but he refused. Angry, Wei Yan went to a tavern where Bianzhou’s generals mocked him.

A fight broke out, but when one general was nearly crushed by a statue, Wei Yan saved him. This act earned their respect and loyalty, just as Chen Pang had hoped for. He wanted Wei Yan to one day lead Bianzhou.
However, Wei Yan never planned to become the Governor of Bianzhou. When accused of being unfilial, Wei Yan questioned whether Chen Pang had forced himself on his mother. Chen Pang said nothing and sent him to guard the border, hoping the experience would shape him. Wei Yan obeyed, marching out with his generals.
Later, hearing of the crisis in Wei State, Wei Yan returned and begged for troops. Chen Pang refused again, so Wei Yan rode to Yujun with his men. At the brink of defeat, Lady Xu saw her grandson arrive and was overjoyed. Though she had once denied him military power for bearing Chen blood, she now praised him for upholding the Wei name and entrusted him with command.
In a fierce battle at the city gates, Wei Yan killed Xue Tai and the enemy fled in panic. After the war ended, Chen Pang failed to bring Wei Yan back and died of asthma. Wei Yan became Lord of Bianzhou. Lady Xu, letting go of past grudges, sincerely congratulated him. At last, the two leaders whom also family from two states, bowed to each other in mutual respect.
What Happened to Su E Huang and Liu Yan on The Prisoner of Beauty ending?
After killing his father, Liu Yan took the throne and launched an attack on Liancheng and Panyi, forcing Wei Shao to split his troops. His goal was clear: eliminate Wei Shao and destroy the alliance between Wei and Qiao. However, his plan failed. Facing the fierce Wei army and lacking reinforcements, Liu Yan was forced to retreat. On Lin Shu’s advice, he ordered General Lin’s capture and execution before returning to Liangya.

Back home, Liu Yan feared disappointing Su E Huang. Liu Shan tried to reason with him, warning against her influence, but Liu Yan grew irritated. Meanwhile, General Xue Tai urged Su E Huang to return to Juejun, but she insisted she still needed Liu Yan to unify the states against Wei Shao.
That night, she entered his room dressed in a wedding gown. She told him about a dream she had, a premonition that Liu Yan would eventually succeed. Rather than trying to break the bond between Wei Shao and Qiao Man directly, she suggested targeting the Qiao Clan first. Su E Huang offered to travel with him through different states to help convince them to form an alliance with Liangya. Using a mix of charm and persuasion, Liu Yan agreed to follow her advice.
Liu Yan and Su E Huang started by spreading rumors to tarnish Qiao Yue’s reputation and break the bond between Qiao Yue and Qiao Ping. Afterward, they parted ways.
Liu Yan led his troops to Kangjun, while Su E Huang went to Zhongzhou. She waited for the moment when Wei Shao was distracted by affairs in Panyi and the Yongning Canal so she could strike Yujun, the heart of the Wei Clan. Her goal was to destroy the clan that had humiliated her.
Though Liu Yan ignored the loss of Panyi, and Su E Huang was confident in their nearing victory, things quickly unraveled. Wei Yan’s sudden arrival led to Zhongzhou’s defeat.
Su E Huang, furious and panicked, returned to her tent only to find her maidservants looting her possessions. When she stabbed one in anger, the others turned on her. Her mask fell, revealing her scarred face. Horrified, the maids cowered. One raised a sword, but Liu Xiao rushed in and killed them to protect her. Su E Huang quietly retrieved and wore the mask again.
But she didn’t spare Liu Xiao either. Afraid he’d tell Liu Yan about her face, she attempted to kill him. Liu Xiao told her that Liu Yan already knew and had ordered Liu Xiao to keep her safe. It was then Su E Huang realized she had been loved. Blinded by ambition and resentment, she had failed to see the sincerity from others. Overcome with regret, she took her own life.
Back in Panyi, Liu Yan still refused to believe his forces could lose to Wei Shao. Liu Shan, frustrated by his blind devotion to Su E Huang, tried to warn him again and again. In the end, Liu Yan grew annoyed and killed Liu Shan. He believed that once he defeated Wei Shao, he would rule the Central Plains.
It was only a fantasy. Wei Shao and Bi Zhi cornered him. When Liu Yan saw Wei Shao in front and Bi Zhi behind, he realized there was nowhere left to run. He sat down in defeat.
Still, Liu Yan claimed that even if he lost, the Wei State would fall into chaos. He made a final attempt to strike Wei Shao, but his attack was easily blocked. Bi Zhi stabbed him with a spear, and Wei Shao drove it deeper. Liu Yan died instantly. In his final moments, he thought of Su E Huang.
And so ended the story of two ambitious people whose dreams of conquest led only to destruction.
What Happened to Qiao Fan and Bi Zhi on The Prisoner of Beauty ending?
Qiao Fan had learned that Qiao Man was leading soldiers to ambush Liu Yan’s reinforcements, and she worried about her. Eventually, Qiao Fan admitted to Bi Zhi that Qiao Man has come and asked for help. Thankfully, Bi Zhi didn’t blame her and calmed her down. Later, Qiao Fan decided to go to Kangjun as well.

Life at home was hard for Qiao Fan and Bi Zhi. Qiao Yue treated Bi Zhi coldly and only pleased Wei Shao. Though Bi Zhi was commander of Bo Ya, he seemed insignificant compared to Wei Shao’s power. Still, Qiao Ping and Wei Shao regarded him as family.
At a banquet, Qiao Yue said he’d take over Bo Ya and wanted Bi Zhi as his son-in-law. Qiao Fan rejected him, saying Bo Ya was small and they would return home soon. When Qiao Yue insisted, she cut ties with him. Zhang Pu also reported that Qiao Ping’s reputation had surpassed Qiao Yue’s.
At a banquet, Qiao Yue said he’d take over Bo Ya and wanted Bi Zhi as his son-in-law. Qiao Fan rejected him, saying Bo Ya was small and they would return home soon. When Qiao Yue insisted, she cut ties with him.
After some time, Qiao Fan gave birth. Qiao Yue invited them to visit him because he wanted to see the child. But instead of a warm welcome, Qiao Yue took Qiao Man hostage, and Liu Yan forced Bi Zhi to kill Wei Shao. Reluctantly, Bi Zhi obeyed. When Wei Liang arrived, Bi Zhi hesitated to kill him, but Liu Yan forced his hand. Guilt overwhelmed Bi Zhi.
At Panyi, Bi Zhi faced Wei Shao, telling him he had no choice since Liu Yan held Qiao Fan captive. Wei Shao was a very strong and skilled martial artist, someone like Liu Yan could never defeat on his own. That’s why Liu Yan relied on Bi Zhi, who possessed exceptional strength.
During their fight, Qiao Fan was held by Liu Shan, while Liu Yan watched with keen interest. Liu Shan remarked to Qiao Fan that Bi Zhi fought like a mindless beast controlled by others. This comment made Qiao Fan realize the painful truth.

At the ending, from the wall, Qiao Fan urged Bi Zhi to stop being controlled. Remembering her words to Qiao Man, that no one should be forced to die for others, she decided to protect Bi Zhi. With tears, she told him she never regretted her choice and jumped to her death. Bi Zhi tried to catch her but missed. And now, fuelled with rage he stared at Liu Yan and promised that he will; pay it with his blood.
Now, Bi Zhi’s happy life with Qiao Fan was only a memory. He only had their child, Li. He left Kangjun, with the Qiao Clan seeing him off.
My Two Cents
I couldn’t stop crying when Wei Liang died on the end… Of all people, why did it have to be him? I had a bad feeling from the moment Wei Liang kept delaying the marriage. His stubbornness just didn’t make sense to me. And when he died… BAM! It hit me that it was inevitable. Poor Xiao Tao, she truly deserves happiness after all she’s been through.
As for Su E Huang, at first, I thought her ending was too easy. But then again, she was blinded by ambition and suspicion. In the end, it cost her everything. On the other hand, Liu Yan’s easy downfall perfectly showed his narrow-mindedness. He was weak and foolish, completely deserving to meet his end at the hands of Wei Shao and Bi Zhi.
One more thing. I’m still curious about Li, the child of Bi Zhi and Qiao Fan. Is it a boy or a girl? Did I miss a scene or subtitle that revealed the gender? If any of you dear readers know, please do share!
Anyway, I hope this post of The Prisoner of Beauty ending explained has satisfied your curiosity. Thank you so much for stopping by, dear readers. I’ll see you in the next Drama Review or Ending Explained post. Until then, goodbye!
