What Happened to Shen Xi He and Xiao Hua Yong / Crown Prince on Blossoms of Power Ending?
Xiao Hua Yong’s condition worsened, and the physician predicted that he could only live for another year. Xie Yun Huai promised to do anything to help him, even it means hurting himself. Xiao Hua Yong told Shen Xi He about it, and tohis surprise, she promised to be a good wife for him for that year.

They married in a lavish wedding. On their first night, Xiao Hua Yong took Shen Xi He to a small courtyard on the outskirt, where her father and brother were waiting for her. With their blessings, she wished for a happy marriage, even if it would be a short one.
However, their marriage life begins with cold war after the Empress Dowager mentioned taking concubines. Seeing Shen Xi He’s calm demeanour, Xiao Hua Yong become irritated. Several women later tried every means to become his concubines. Deep down, Shen Xi He was furious, but her pride wouldn’t let her show it.
Although they shared bed, Shen Xi He refused to be intimate with him. She even divides the bed into his and her side. Naturally, Xiao Hua Yong couldn’t resist trying to cross the border. At one point, he even pretended to be afraid of thunders. But Shen Xi He wasn’t buying it. As she said, Xiao Hua Yong was a master at making something out of nothing. 😆
As Shen Xi He gained the control over the Six palace, she became the most powerful woman beside the Empress Dowager. She helped the Princess Yaoxi become the emperor’s consort and successfully gain another ally.
Meanwhile, Xiao Hua Yong’s health continued to decline. He followed Xie Yun Huai’s treatment with golden needle, enduring tremendous pain. She eventually discovered it, and seeing his bruised back pained her. Without realizing it, she slowly began opening her heart to his love and patience.
When trouble involving Bu Shu Lin and Cui Jin Bai arose, Shen Xi He and Xiao Hua Yong helped them escape the danger. Shen Xi He helped Bu Shu Lin return to Shunan to give birth, while Xiao Hua Yong eliminated Prince Ning’s forces and give Cui Jin Bai a legitimate reason to remain in Mingzhou.
Meanwhile, Gu Qing Shu and the mysterious person shifted the blame for Xiao Hua Yong’s poisoning onto Prince Ning. Although the emperor believed it, Xiao Hua Yong remained skeptical. He suspected the real the mastermind was somewhere within the palace walls.
The emperor later arranged marriage for Shen Yun An, prompting Shen Xi He to return to the Northwest for the wedding. Prince Xin followed her under the pretense of official business and their meeting was coincidental.
Xiao Hua Yong, who claimed missing his wife, arrived just in time to stop Prince Xin from barging into Shen Xi He’s bedroom. But the incident also gave him the chance to steal a kiss.
The journey to the Northwest soon became much livelier with Xiao Hua Yong and Prince Xin’s rivalry. However, things become serious when Shen Xi He’s father, brother, and the generals were ambushed by Geng Liang Cheng, Shen Yue Shan’s trusted subordinate.
He had betrayed the Shen family and joined forces with the Le tribe in an attempt to seize control of the Northwest. Shen Yue Shan and Shen Yun An were badly injured. Shen Xi He quickly realized that the attack was part of a much larger conspiracy.
Prince Ding was eventually revealed as the mastermind behind the rebellion. He had used Geng Liang Cheng to strike back at his father after years of resentment. His wife, Li Yan Hui, tried to reason with him, but his ambition for power had completely consumed him. As the rebellion spread, the emperor sends Prince Xin with reinforcement to protect Xiao Hua Yong and Shen Xi He.
The war between the Northwest and the Le tribe began. Xiao Hua Yong joined despite his worsening condition. He fought under his status as the Shen family’s son-in-law rather than as Crown Prince. On the battlefield, he faced his own brother, Prince Ding. When the situation became critical, Prince Xin arrived with reinforcements and turn the tide.
Just as Prince Ding attempted to kill Xiao Hua Yong, Shen Xi He’s arrow stop him. Prince Ding and the Le tribe were forced to flee. Afterward, Li Yan Hui choose to end her life. She was tired of being used as her husband’s pawn.
Half a month later, Shen Yue Shan’s health improved. Xiao Hua Yong surprised her with a scroll containing the names of his trusted subordinates. This effectively entrusting her with the political network he had built throughout his life.
The gesture moved her deeply and she confessed her love to him. After they returned to the capital, Xiao Hua Yong and Shen Xi He’s relationship took a major step forward and they finally consummated their marriage.
But peace didn’t last long. During the imperial hunt, Xiao Hua Yong and Prince Xin was captured by Prince Ding. They managed to escape, but Xiao Hua Yong stayed behind to protect his brother and ended up being captured again.
Prince Ding then revealed a shocking secret: the emperor might have been responsible for the poison that have been plagued Xiao Hua Yong since childhood.
He even showed him an edict of repentance from the Empress Dowager claiming that the emperor was responsible for the death of his own brother, Prince Qian, and had harmed Xiao Hua Yong as well. Although he was shaken by the secrets, Xiao Hua Yong couldn’t bring himself to believe that his loving father could have done such things.
Meanwhile, the war in the Northwest continued while the emperor’s health deteriorated. The Eastern Palace, however, receive a good news. Shen Xi He was pregnant!
Knowing his own condition was worsening, Xiao Hua Yong become increasingly worried about leaving Shen Xi He and their child behind. He began to prepare the child’s future, arranging teachers and planning the child’s education. He even chose the name Xiao Jun Shu, nicknamed Little Goldfish.
Before they could enjoy their peaceful life, Prince Ding launched a bloody attack during the Empress Dowager’s birthday banquet. Xiao Hua Yong fought desperately to protect the emperor.
Fortunately, he already arranged for Prince Lie to bring reinforcements after seeing the flare signal. When Prince Ding’s sword nearly killed the emperor, Xiao Hua Yong stepped in and took the blow, suffering a deep wound on his chest.
With his coup failing, Prince Ding fled and was hunted down by Prince Lie. Refusing to surrender, Prince Ding chose to end his life, following Li Yan Hui’s footsteps.
At the hall, the Emperor tried to save his beloved son, but Xiao Hua Yong pointed his sword at him and demanded the truth. The Emperor denied the accusation, and Xiao Hua Yong believed him.
For ten years, the Emperor had also searched for the person responsible for the poisoning but had found nothing. Knowing he wouldn’t survive the night, Xiao Hua Yong made one final request. He begged the Emperor to name his unborn child Xiao Jun Shu, a name befitting an emperor.
The Emperor immediately understood what Xiao Hua Yong was trying to arrange for his wife and child. He agreed to the request.
When Shen Xi He rushed to the hall, an assassin threw a knife at her. Xiao Hua Yong caught her as she fell and killed the assassin. They collapsed to the floor. As his life slowly slipped away, Xiao Hua Yong gently brushed his hand across her cheek, his eyes filled with a deep reluctance to part.

After Xiao Hua Yong’s death, Noble Consort Rong attempted to seize control of the Six Palaces, but the Empress Dowager’s edict granted Shen Xi He full authority. Prince Xin also tried to make Shen Xi He his wife, but she firmly rejected him. Gu Qing Shu attempted to poison Shen Xi He, but the plan backfires and kill her instead.
The Emperor’s health rapidly declined, he issued a decree naming Shen Xi He’s unborn child Xiao Jun Shu according to Xiao Hua Yong’s wish. He also arranged for the child to be formally established as heir to the throne. Noble Consort Rong and her Rong family, naturally, was not happy about it.
That night, Prince Xin and Noble Consort Rong launched another coup. They also ordered Xiao Wen Xi to take command of the Bu family’s elite troops and seize the city. However, Bu Shu Lin stopped her with the tiger tally.
The coup was eventually crushed by reinforcements from the Shunan Army, Northwest Army, and Lanhai army under Princess Yaoxi. Their arrival was no coincidence. Shen Xi He had arranged for them to be ready long before the coup began.
Then came another revelation. The Empress Dowager admitted that she had orchestrated the rebellions of Prince Ning, Prince Ding, and Prince Xin. Shen Xi He already suspected her involvement, but the truth went even further.
The Empress Dowager was also the mastermind behind the schemes to kill Xiao Hua Yong. She had created the poisonous cherry to avenge the death of her son, Prince Qian.
On his death bed, the emperor revealed the truth. Prince Qian had sacrificed his life for the future of the country and entrusted his son and wife to him. After Princess Consort Qian died after giving birth to a baby, and he is Xiao Hua Yong.
Yet, the desire for the throne was too tempting that Xiao Jue Chong eventually took the throne for himself. He also claimed Xiao Hua Yong as his own son and make him the Crown Prince.
But the guilt made him love Xiao Hua Yong more deeply than his biological children. Upon learning the truth, the Empress Dowager was devastated. Her years long revenge ultimately killed her own grandson.
Months later, Xiao Jun Shu ascended the throne. Shen Xi He became the Grand Empress Dowager. Thus, the Yonghe era began.
Four years later, Xiao Jun Shu began his imperial education according to his late father’s plan. Cui Jin Bai and Zhao Zheng Hao acted as his teachers. Eventually, the young Xiao Jun Shu discovered the letters from Xiao Hua Yong in the study. The letter containing advice on how to become a great emperor.
At the ending, one day, Xiao Jun Shu brought home a sachet embroidered with ginkgo leaves and gave it to his mother. At the same time, Tian Yuan received a handkerchief embellished with immortal vine embroidery. After seeing it, Tian Yuan rushed to the palace gate.
That afternoon, Shen Xi He smelled the tagara incense and rushed inside. There, she saw Xiao Hua Yong, alive and well, although there were streaks of grey in his hair. Tears streamed down her face as she stared the man she had though she lost forever. “I’m back,” he said.

Even when he promised there would only be her in his life, she brushed him off. After the rejection, Cui Jin Bai moved out of the Bu Residence.
The rumors about them spending night together began circulating in the capital, attracting Prince Ning’s suspicion. He planned to uncover their secret and use it to his advantage.
Shen Xi He helped Bu Shu Lin by finding Shen Shi Jiu, a man who looked 80% like her. With Xie Yun Huai’s bone sculpting technique, Shen Shi Jiu was made to look exactly like Bu Shu Lin. Shen Shi Jiu managed to make Prince Ning and Gu Qing Shu’s plan failed.
Later, Xiao Wen Xi asked Sen Xi He to arrange her marriage with Bu Shu Lin. She already knew that Bu Shu Lin was a woman and was willing to protect her secret out of gratitude for her help years ago.
When dining with Shen Xi He, Bu Shu Lin discovered that she was pregnant. However, she decided not to tell Cui Jin Bai because she believed they weren’t meant to be together. She planned to return to Shunan to give birth while Shen Shu Jiu took her place in the capital.
Bu Shu Lin then told Cui Jin Bai that she could only be the Young Master to the Marquis of Shunan and sever the ties with him. This decision broke both their hearts.
Shen Xi He encouraged Bu Shu Lin to continue pursue her dream after giving birth. She still could become the first female military marquis who raise the crimson banner and ride into the battlefield. Bu Shu Lin then left the city dressed as a woman.

Bu Shu Lin’s determination finally wavered when Cui Jin Bai told her that she could be herself with him. And after he begged her not to leave, she finally said yes. That was also when Cui Jin Bai learned that she was pregnant.
Months later, Bu Shu Lin gave birth to a twin. Her identity problem was resolved when Shen Shi Jiu permanently took on her identity and marrying Xiao Wen Xi. Meanwhile, Bu Shu Lin assumed the identity of Bu Shu Yao, the long-lost twin sister of the heir of the Marquis of Shunan.
On the ending, After the world back to its peace and new emperor ascends the throne, Sen Xi He issued a decree betrothing Bu Shu Yao to Cui Jin Bai. She also allowed Bu Shu Yao to choose between becoming a Chief Clerk or Staff Officer because she didn’t want Bu Shu Yao’s talents to go to waste.

My Two Cents
Now, I can officially declare that my favorite character in this drama on Blossoms of Power, aside from Xiao Hua Yong, is Bu Shu Lin. Watching her happy face when she joined Shen Xi He’s wedding procession was such a delight. She is such a good friend.
I also feel sorry for Li Yan Hui. She only wanted to free herself from her husband, but who would’ve thought Prince Ding was too proud to realize that he was the reason she died? And he had the audacity to follow her into the afterlife. Do you think she would happily welcome him when they met again? Nah. I don’t think so. 😂
AND HOW DID XIAO HUA YONG COME BACK TO LIFE AFTER DYING? Can someone explain this to me??? He even got a coffin for… WHAT EXACTLY?!
Sigh. Trying to process this nonsense. 😮💨
As for Prince Xin, he was actually a kind person. His eyes never showed the malice I saw in Prince Ding and Ning. He even helped Xiao Hua Yong in episode 29, when he could’ve easily left him in the dungeon.
And with that, this drama finally comes to an end. I’m so glad Prince Xin wasn’t actually the villain here. What do you think about the ending, dear reader? Did you agree with the closure?
Don’t forget to share your thoughts in the comment box below. I’d love to read them. Anyway, thank you so much for supporting me and this website. I’ll see you in another post and article. Until then, goodbye! 😉
