Perfect Match Ending Explained – What Happened to Le Shan and Yang Xian?

Yang Xian’s life in the Yang family was far from happy. Her parents, sisters, and brother-in-law all had their eyes on the Yang family’s wealth because Yang Xian was the sole heir. Everything had been passed down to him directly from his hard-working grandfather.

However, Yang Xian didn’t know how to deal with everything except to act rebellious. It was understandable because he never received a proper education from his parents, who only thought about their own gain.

His parents only got a reputation after Yang Xian’s sister was sent to the palace to become the emperor’s consort. When Concubine Yang returned home, Yang Xian refused to see her, mainly because he felt guilty for his incompetence.

However, Concubine Yang knew that Yang Xian had married a good woman. So she gives Le Shan a golden rod and gives her the authority to punish the Yang family members, including Yang Xian, his parents, sisters, and in-laws.

The Yang family members didn’t like Le Shan. They tried everything to get rid of her. And the mastermind of this plot is none other than Jiang Chao Zong, Yang Xian’s brother-in-law. He wanted to take over the wealth of the Yang family.

Jiang Chao Zong was aided by Mrs. Chen, the concubine of Yang Xian’s father. When his plan failed, Jiang Chao Zong blamed Mrs. Chen.

That night, when Le Shan and Yang Xian thought everything was over, the palace reported that Concubine Yang was involved in a harem dispute. Yang Xian wanted to help, but his father stopped him because Lord Yang was afraid that Yang Xian would implicate the whole family. Yang Xian was furious with his cowardly and selfish father.

At the same time, Jiang Chao Zong beat the drum in Yamen, accusing the Yang family of forcibly taking over houses. The Yang family was immediately raided by soldiers who confiscated everything. Overnight, the Yang family lost its glory. They were reduced to commoners.

The next day, Madam Li came to pick up Le Shan and the Yang family. She put them in a small house near the Li family. Seeing the proud Yang Xian at his lowest point, Le Shan felt sorry for him. Madam Li and her sons-in-law thought of a way out for Le Shan and her husband.

Le Shan gave her dowry money to Yang Xian to start a business, promising that if he could make three times the profit in one month, she would follow him anywhere, in prosperity or in adversity. But Yang Xian was deceived and lost all his capital. Le Shan was angry and Madam Li was disappointed.

It turned out that Madam Li and her sons-in-law had arranged for Yang Xian to be deceived. The family agreed that Yang Xian would have to face hardships before he could become a responsible man. He used to be a privileged man who spent lavishly.

In addition, the Yang family’s grudges were unsettled. Madam Li kicked Yang Xian and severed their relationship to make Yang Xian a better person. Angry, Le Shan scolded her sisters and in-laws. But after Shou Hua explained, she understood the situation.

Chai An took Yang Xian to his restaurant. He also told Yang Xian to leave Bianjing and start a business. The Li family did not want to entrust their precious Le Shan to a scoundrel like Yang Xian. Yang Xian’s bad mood got worse after he heard Chai An’s words.

However, Chai An said that this was a test to see if Yang Xian was worth helping. He also prepared a bundle of money and other things. He said that he lent it to Yang Xian to prove himself. He told him to board the ship to Quanzhou and start trading. Yang Xian followed his instructions and left. Le Shan was sad, but she kept it in her heart.

Three years later, Yang Xian came back. Now he understands that his mother-in-law pushed him to strive for himself back then. But he was still afraid that Le Shan was still angry and resented him. He planned to fix the house first before bringing Le Shan back.

But then he found out that the Li family was looking for a future husband for Le Shan. Through a silk ball competition, the Li family found She Cong, a famous military general from the northwest. Although Yang Xian had become a wealthy merchant, money and gold couldn’t move Le Shan’s heart.

Through a silk ball competition, the Li family found She Cong, a famous military general from the northwest. Although Yang Xian had become a wealthy merchant, money and gold didn’t move Le Shan’s heart. Yang Xian was jealous of She Cong, thinking that Le Shan had really fallen in love with him. But what he didn’t know was that She Cong was Fan’er.

The long-lost brother of Le Shan. The reason why she kept delaying expressing her feelings was because she was still angry with him. Waiting is painful, and Le Shan has been waiting for three years without any news from Yang Xian.

Meanwhile, Yang Xian kept an eye on Jiang Chao Zong. The despicable man joined the Cui family and became a servant in the Cui house. Yang Xian planned a trap to catch him and joined forces with She Cong, who wanted to overthrow the treacherous Cui family.

Yang Xian sent Jiang Chao Zong to the Kaifeng court and accused him of stealing ten gold pieces from the Yangs. The gold becomes bait to destroy the cooperation between Jiang Chao Zong and Mrs. Chen, his aunt. After Mrs. Chen learns that Jiang Chao Zong intends to kill her for the gold, Mrs. Chen is willing to cooperate with Yang Xian.

Jiang Chao Zong tried to escape from the Kaifeng court officials and died after falling into an animal trap. The Yang family’s grudge was settled, while the Cui family was severely punished by the emperor.

Now back to the relationship between Le Shan and Yang Xian.

On the ending, Le Shan’s brothers-in-law, Fan Liang Han and Chai An, helped Le Shan vent his anger. One night, when he peeked into the Li family’s house, Yang Xian was knocked out. When he woke up, he was tied to the bridal sedan and couldn’t escape. The next thing he knows, Yang Xian is already in the bridal chamber with Le Shan. To ask for her forgiveness, he kneels before her. This is the beginning of a new phase in their lives.

A year ago, Fan’er went to Luoyang to find his family and found out that his family’s surname was Li.

They were alive and had moved to Bianjing. Since then, he has been determined to find his family. Madam She never stopped Fan’er from finding his family. The incident where Fan’er became She Cong happened because she had no way out and Madam Li understood that.

Madam Li and Madam She meet. Madam She is grateful to Madam Li for giving her a son, while Madam Li is grateful to her for saving Fan’er from the water. Liang Sheng said that Qiong Nu likes to show off. She is just a woman who covets the wealth of the Liang family while pretending to be virtuous and chaste. The words made Fan’er angry. He ordered Huaiyi to take Liang Sheng away and give him a good beating. Meanwhile, Qiong Nu is embarrassed when Fan’er finds out what happened to Liang Sheng.

At home, Qiong Nu hides from Fan’er. But she said a few words to him. Qiong Nu said that she was afraid that her dowry was too modest to find a good match. But she was greedy and accepted Liang’s jade comb and almost got deceived. Because of her bad reputation, Qiong Nu decided to break off the engagement.

Fan’er explained that he already knew about the accident from Kang Ning, who explained the details of the matter. He also said that She Min was already grown up and that he would take responsibility for the She family later. When Qiong Nu married him, he was only the son of a tea shop owner. Not a noble military general. All that fame, all that wealth, all that shadow was just a shadow.

Qiong Nu’s heart softened when she heard Fan’er ask if she still had someone to give her a lotus root when she ate cold noodles. Qiong Nu opened the door and ran into his embrace. Le Shan and Madam Li watched the reunited couple with joy. They giggled under the tree.

My Two Cents

No matter how many times I watch episode 35, I always cry when Kang Ning tells her mother that the man kneeling before her is her long-lost son. Kang Ning immediately recognized her twin brother, even though Le Shan or Fan’er didn’t say anything.

Well, in my opinion, Perfect Match drama is entertaining because of its light story. But if I wanted something more challenging for my brain, I would definitely choose a different drama. Because the ending of Perfect Match was easy to predict. The events are also easy to guess.

Still, I enjoy this drama. Especially when it comes to the characters’ personalities which are well written. I hope you enjoy Perfect Match as much as I do, dear readers. Thank you for reading this Perfect Match ending expalined post. You can also read Perfect Match drama review that I also wrote. I’ll see you in another post of Drama Review and Ending Explained.
