What Happened to Qiao Qing Yu on Reborn Ending?

Qiao Qing Yu finally discovered the truth about her sister’s death. Dr. Le Fan, who worked at the Huanzhou Association for SRD and AIDS Prevention and Control, told her someone has leaked Qiao Bei Yu’s HIV status. Knowing the truth, Qiao Qing Yu became determined to find the person. Dr. Le Fan also gave her a camcorder containing Qiao Bei Yu’s interview video.

In the video, Qiao Bei Yu recounted that when she was born, her grandparents left the hospital after learning she was a girl. Since then, she believed she was a disappointment to the family.

Six years later, when Qiao Qing Yu was born, the grandparents, fearing that her parents couldn’t properly care for both children, took Qiao Bei Yu to Nanqiao Village. They had promised she could return once Li Fang Hao gave birth to a boy. But even after Qiao Jin Yu was born, they never fulfilled that promise. This left Bei Yu feeling abandoned and convinced that being unwanted was her fate.

The only source of light in her life had been Qiao Jin Rui. He was her salvation. But after a miscarriage, he left without looking back. That was when everything began to unravel.

Qiao Bei Yu started seeing different men and eventually contracted HIV. She didn’t even know how or when she had been infected. She kept it a secret. Lost and confused, she often thought about ending her life. But thanks to her school’s support, she managed to pull herself together for a time.

Eventually, her parents discovered her condition. They left Shunyun and devoted themselves to caring for her. During her time in the hospital, Qiao Bei Yu came to understand just how deeply they loved her.

But then, the calls and messages began flooding in. She was relentlessly harassed. Overwhelmed, she withdrew from art school and left the hospital during Chinese New Year. That night, she jumped into the ocean and ended her life. Qiao Bei Yu died young. She was crushed by the weight of cruel words.

As the New Year approached, Qiao Qing Yu entered her senior year, but Ming Sheng never returned to school. Then, a phone call came. Her grandfather had passed away. On the bus ride, Qiao Jin Yu told her about Qiao Bei Yu’s desolate funeral. They had waited for the elders to arrive before starting the service, but in the end, no one came. Because they missed the schedule, Qiao Bei Yu didn’t even receive a proper ceremony.

After her grandfather’s funeral, Qiao Qing Yu and her family took Qiao Bei Yu’s ashes and severed ties with their extended family. On the journey home, Qiao Qing Yu realized that her parents had always protected them in their own way.

It was clumsily, stubbornly, but they gave them all their love. With this new perspective, she no longer wished to leave her family. Meanwhile, Qiao Bei Yu was moved to a public cemetery. With a proper grave and headstone, they hoped she would finally find peace.

Six months later, Wang Mu Mu sent Qiao Qing Yu a letter and an unexpected surprise. It was an admission notice for the Youth Starlight Cup Dance Competition. She had secretly submitted one of Qiao Qing Yu’s dance videos for audition, and it passed the preliminary round.

With help from Deng Mei Xi and their friends, Qing Yu found her music and costume. The only challenge left was convincing Li Fang Hao to let her travel to Jiangzhou. Guan Lan suggested they pretend it was for a recruitment event. Li Fang Hao agreed. While they were packing, Qiao Lu Sheng accidentally saw the admission notice.

Qiao Jin Yu worried their father would object, but he quietly returned the letter to the bag without a word. He pretended not to see it. Qiao Jin Yu also gave his sister a heartfelt gift. It was Qiao Bei Yu’s old dance shoes.

In Jiangzhou, Qing Yu reunited with Ming Sheng, who was there accompanying his mother, Wang An Na who unexpectedly was one of the judges. Her performance went well, though she didn’t expect to win. She was there to fulfil both her and Qiao Bei Yu’s dream.

Life returned to normal after Jiangzhou. But one day, Hei and his gang stormed into the noodle shop, claiming he came to confess his feelings. He took Qiao Jin Yu hostage and threatened to pour hot water on him unless Qiao Qing Yu went with him. It was Qiao Lu Sheng who stopped them. He threatening to ignite the gas tank if they didn’t leave.

That night, Qiao Qing Yu found her mother standing by the rooftop parapet. She gently led her to a chair. Li Fang Hao was shaken, relapsing after the day’s trauma. She rambled about all the hardships their family had endured since moving.

Li Fang Hao knew Qiao Qing Yu had faced so much, yet still excelled in school. Watching her daughter walk on eggshells around her broke her heart. She couldn’t understand why she always has the urge to nagged and lectured her. However, deep down inside, Li Fang Hao was terrified of losing Qiao Qing Yu like she lost Qiao Bei Yu.

Despite everything, Hei continued showing up at Qiao Qing Yu’s school. He bragged about how he had posted Qiao Bei Yu’s photos online, making her famous as Shunyun’s number one beauty. But according to him, she repaid him with betrayal. Hei laughed as he recalled the moment he discovered her HIV status. Fueled by resentment, he leaked her condition online. And it spread like wildfire.

Qiao Qing Yu stared at him in horror. After all her investigation, the truth was standing right in front of her. She told Hei he had killed her sister. If he hadn’t leaked that information, she wouldn’t have taken her life. Hei dismissed it, insisting it wasn’t his fault.

Enraged, Qing Yu slapped him hard. Only when she called him a murderer who destroyed her family did he begin to falter. Quietly, he left school. Not long after, Qing Yu heard he’d been hospitalized after being beaten by someone.

Following the doctor’s advice, Qiao Qing Yu gently urged her mother to stay at the hospital for treatment. At first, Li Fang Hao refused. But as Qiao Qing Yu opened up about the dance competition, her love for dance, and her deep fear of losing her mother the way she lost Qiao Bei Yu, Li Fang Hao finally agreed.

As the NCEE approached, Qiao Qing Yu felt calmer than ever. No more confusion, no more anger. For the first time, she could see a clear path ahead. She passed the exam and was admitted to the School of Finance at Jiangzhou University.

From Chen Hao and Ye Li Zin, she learned what happened when Ming Sheng confronted Hei. He had fought off three men. Hei nearly stabbed him, but he struck back with a brick. Both were badly injured, but Ming Sheng made sure Hei got what he deserved. In that moment, Qiao Qing Yu realized that his feelings for her were real.

But it was too late. Ming Sheng had already said he would forget her. Qiao Qing Yu vowed she would remember him forever.

The Qiao family bought a small apartment in Xingzhou. Their life improved. Qiao Qing Yu lived in the uni dorm and stayed busy with school. She took a part-time job at a counseling center. Her sense of justice remained strong. She even helped a young girl who was being secretly photographed by a pervert.

Later, she learned that Hei had been imprisoned for assault, vandalism, property destruction, and for leaking Qiao Bei Yu’s personal information, which ultimately led to her death. Finally, justice was served.

Still from her brother, Qiao Qing Yu found out that Ming Sheng used to visit their noodle shop. On a rainy night, just before closing, he ordered stir-fried noodles with extra chili, and a bit of sugar. Just the way Qiao Qing Yu liked them. But he ate in tears, whispering that he “couldn’t forget.” It echoed the question Qiao Qing Yu had asked him on the beach.

The realization struck in. Qiao Qing Yu feel the emptiness inside, but she couldn’t let anyone else into her heart. Only Ming Sheng. She often visited the beach where they’d spent that night. The café owner remembered her because she once said she was waiting for someone.

One day, Wang Mu Mu took Qiao Qing Yu to a signing event for Wang An Na. She urged her to ask about Ming Sheng, and told her he had returned. But Qiao Qing Yu lost her nerve and left, just moments before he entered.

After working at the counseling house, Qing Yu decided to apply for graduate school. She planned to study psychology. One day, she hoped to return to Nanqiao Village to support left-behind children through counseling.

Though she appeared calm, an emptiness sstill lingered in her heart. Qiao Qing Yu missed Ming Sheng. But one day, while sitting by the sea, she saw an update on his Moments. It was a picture of the lighthouse they used to visit. Without hesitation, she ran there, hoping to find him.

As she neared the lighthouse, a familiar voice called out behind her. It was him. Smiles bloomed on their faces. Ming Sheng told her he was back for good, and that he had always wanted to ask her third wish.

But Qiao Qing Yu told him he didn’t have to, because it had already come true. On the ending, he returned her lucky charm necklace and said he had always been the lucky one. Beneath the sunlight, they shared a kiss. Their happiness was finally complete.

What Happened to Ming Sheng on Reborn Ending?

Ming Sheng was heartbroken when Qiao Qing Yu ended their relationship, which has barely begun. She told him there was no future for them. It wasn’t what she wanted, but she felt she had no other choice. That day, they parted ways, both with tears in their eyes.

After ten years, Ming Sheng learned the truth from his mother. She confessed that it was she who had walked away from him and Ming Qiu Xin. Ming Sheng moved out of his grandfather’s house and into a dorm. He enrolled in an intensive language program and stopped attending high school. He planned to study medicine in France.

Meanwhile, Ming Sheng learned about his father’s involvement in a medical dispute. A patient named Tan Qian Qian had died on the operating table. Although her condition had been critical from the start, she and her family had begged Ming Qiu Xin to treat her. He agreed, but she died due to complications. Her family then accused him of malpractice and stirred up a public scandal. Strangely, the patient’s husband was nowhere to be found.

Sensing something was off, Ming Sheng decided to investigate. He traveled to another city and eventually tracked down Tan Qian Qian’s husband. It turned out the man had no idea his wife’s family was causing a scene. He had left the city to work and repay the mounting medical bills.

Upon learning of the situation, he returned in time for Ming Qiu Xin’s medical dispute hearing. There, he apologized, withdrew the complaint, and expressed his gratitude. Ming Qiu Xin had been the only doctor willing to help his wife, giving them a sliver of hope in a hopeless situation.

Ming Qiu Xin later found out that it was Ming Sheng who had resolved the issue. From that moment, the strained relationship between father and son began to heal. They started opening up to each other and cleared old misunderstandings.

Half a year later, Ming Sheng accompanied his mother, Wang An Na, to Jiangzhou, where she was one of the judges for a dance competition. He already knew Qiao Qing Yu would be participating and asked to stay at the same hotel where the event was held. His mother told Ming Sheng that she was getting remarried. Ming Sheng offered his blessing without hesitation.

That very night, Qiao Qing Yu found herself locked in a rehearsal room. She had fallen asleep on the floor. It was Ming Sheng who found her. She was stunned to see him again. Since her reserved room had been cancelled, Ming Sheng took her to his. Just like before, she took the bed, and he slept on the sofa.

It was an awkward night. Qiao Qing Yu didn’t speak much. She told him he always seemed to appear at the right moment and that she didn’t want to owe him another favor. Ming Sheng smiled and replied that he’d make sure she repaid him someday. Neither of them could sleep. Their minds were too full of thoughts they couldn’t say aloud.

During her performance, there was a problem with the music. Without hesitation, Ming Sheng stepped forward and played the piano for her. Wang An Na recognized her son’s playing and smiled quietly to herself. It was just like the first time they met years ago. This was how Ming Sheng recognized her as “Qiao Bei Yu’s sister.” Not because of rumors, but because he saw her on the dance floor.

After the competition, Ming Sheng took her out on a date. He told her it was to make a memory before they parted ways because he would soon be leaving for France. They spent the day visiting an aquarium, an amusement park, a museum, and finally, the beach. There, they made wishes and watched the sunrise together.

Ming Sheng shared that he wanted to be a doctor, not because of his father, but because it was his own dream. Qiao Qing Yu told him she planned to study finance, just like her parents wished, and that she wanted to help her mother recover. One day, she hoped her family could move into a new home that truly belonged to them.

When the sunrise, Qiao Qing Yu asked him that after growing up and meeting countless people, would their memories fade into nothing? Ming Sheng gently took her hand and bit it, saying that now they were even. And that from that moment on, he would forget her. He wished her well, and left. Qiao Qing Yu stood there, dazed and heartbroken.

Back in Huanzhou, Ming Sheng learned from Ye Li Zin and Chen Hao about what had happened between Qiao Qing Yu and Hei. Though he said nothing, that very night he went looking for Hei. He found him and beat him up. Ming Sheng wanted to make sure Qiao Qing Yu could face the NCEE without fear, without distraction, especially not from Hei.

Ming Sheng went to France to pursue his studies and often helped his mother with her events. His relationships with both his parents and their respective partners, grew stronger over time. Unfortunately, when Wang An Na held a book signing event in Jiangzhou, he narrowly missed seeing Qiao Qing Yu.

But at the ending, fate brought them together again after Ming Sheng returned to China for good. This time, there was nothing standing in the way of a new beginning. For both of them, and for their love story.

What Happened to Li Fang Hao on Reborn Ending?

After Qiao Bei Yu’s death, Li Fang Hao fell into depression. Qiao Qing Yu only discovered the truth after her mother was rushed to the hospital for an antidepressant overdose. Until then, her parents had hidden the medication, telling the children it was just a painkiller. Li Fang Hao often complained of shoulder pain. But it was not from overwork as she claimed, but as a psychosomatic symptom of her depression.

The illness began after she and Qiao Lu Sheng took Qiao Bei Yu’s ashes to Nanqiao Village. The elders rejected the idea of burying her in the ancestral grave, calling her death a disgrace to the family.

Eventually, the first aunt and uncle persuaded the elders to allow the burial. But with one condition that no gravestone be placed on her grave. That night, Qiao Lu Sheng woke to find Li Fang Hao missing. He searched for her and discovered her asleep at Qiao Bei Yu’s grave.

Upon returning to Shunyun, Li Fang Hao was diagnosed with mild depressive disorder and began treatment. She insisted the children not be told.

Later, Li Fang Hao had to return to Nanqiao Village to care for her father-in-law. Her children protested. It was unfair that she had to serve the family and send money while the house had been inherited by Qiao Jin Rui’s parents. Still, she went. Qiao Lu Sheng, Qiao Qing Yu, and Qiao Jin Yu remained in Huanzhou to manage the noodle shop.

When her father-in-law passed away, the rest of the family joined her in the village. What they saw left them stunned. Their aunt, Chen Yan Fen, was playing mahjong and drinking with the neighbors. The uncles sat around eating and chatting. Only their family stood vigil and burned joss paper.

Meanwhile, Li Fang Hao was running around. She do the cooking, serving, and washing dishes like a servant. Chen Yan Fen still mocked her, saying no one had forced her to do it.

This aunty made me seethe in anger! She absolutely deserves a special spot in the Hall of Infamous Relatives. 🤬

Qiao Qing Yu was upset to see her mother treated this way. But Li Fang Hao only said, “In life, you endure. The only time you get to rest is when you’re dead.”

The next day, Chen Yan Fen and Qiao Hai Sheng tried to pressure her to stay and care for their bedridden grandmother. Li Fang Hao refused because Qiao Qing Yu had her NCEE next year. The relatives grudgingly let her go, telling her to keep sending money and reminding her that the old house would eventually go to Qiao Jin Rui.

But what truly broke the family’s hearts was when Chen Yan Fen suggested that Qiao Bei Yu’s tomb was bad luck. That they should move it or scatter her ashes into a lake or river. That was the final straw. Li Fang Hao lashed out at her in rage. Qiao Qing Yu and her brother tried to restrain her, while Qiao Lu Sheng stood frozen, unable to react.

It was Qiao Qing Yu’s words that finally stirred him. She told her mother that Qiao Bei Yu had never liked Nanqiao Village. That they should forget about family genealogy, ancestral tombs, and just take her away. Only then did Qiao Lu Sheng speak. “We’ll do that,” he said.

And so, the Qiao family took back Qiao Bei Yu’s ashes, cutting ties with the extended family once and for all. Li Fang Hao clutched the urn tightly as they returned to Huanzhou. This time they were together, as a complete family of five. They buried Qiao Bei Yu in a public cemetery, with a proper grave and a gravestone.

It was what they should have done from the beginning. That so-called Qiao family had been nothing but toxic. 😞

Even though they had moved on, Li Fang Hao’s depression worsened. Her heart was still heavy with regret, and the fear of losing Qiao Qing Yu haunted her.

After Qiao Qing Yu was admitted to Jiangzhou University, the Qiao family moved to Xianzhou. Li Fang Hao continued her treatment in the hospital. Her condition gradually improved. She even began encouraging her daughter to dress up and take care of herself. The family had finally found stability. In the end, happiness returned. And on the wall hung a new family photo. This time, with all five of them. Complete at last.

My Two Cents

I totally forgot to mention the visual side in my Reborn drama review. Reborn has this gloomy, bleak color scheme with lots of pale greys that really add to the heavy atmosphere. But honestly, I liked it. It set the mood perfectly. The lighting and camera work were spot-on, and I especially loved the close-up shots.

As for the swimming scenes, they felt a bit awkward. Zhou Yi Ran looked like he was afraid of bumping into Zhang Jing Yi, but even so, they didn’t lose their charms and the scene still carried some emotional weight.

This Reborn ending truly satisfied my craving for a happy resolution. I loved seeing the way Qiao Qing Yu and Ming Sheng looked at each other with so much love and tenderness. After everything they’ve been through, they absolutely deserve their happiness.

But one thing that made me laugh so hard was the scene where Li Fang Hao gave Qiao Qing Yu a new phone. The brand? Samzong. My goodness. Couldn’t they have come up with a slightly better knockoff name? 😂

Anyway… I really loved this Reborn drama. I might not be adding it to my rewatch list anytime soon, just because of how heavy the themes are. But maybe someday, I will. Hopefully, this Reborn Ending Explained post helped satisfy your curiosity. Still, it hits differently when you watch it yourself. Thanks for stopping by dear readers. I’ll see you again soon in another Drama Review and Ending Explained. Until then, take care and goodbye!
