Minister Shi planned to demote Shi Xue Ji and give the empress position to Shi Xue Lu, Shi Xue Ji’s sister. He thought that Liu Yu was powerless without him, so he did everything his own way. However, Liu Yu and Shi Xue Ji realized his plan.
Minister Shi sent Shi Xue Lu to the Chonghua Palace on the pretext that Shi Xue Lu was missing her sister, the Empress. The emperor refused his offer to take Shi Xue Lu as his wife.

Her survival instinct was stronger than her desire for Liu Yu’s love and her position as empress.
Shi Xue Ji humble nature, however, won him over. Liu Yu finally lets go of his obsession with Liu Ming Lan and chooses to accept reality. Well, sometimes we can’t see that the right person is right next to us, and we keep looking for someone far away.
