Hello, dear readers! I was sad to see Queen of Tears drama end, but I had fun writing this post and I think it’s a fitting goodbye for our beloved couple, Baek Hyun Woo and Hong Hae In. My tears have all dried up, and I feel emptiness inside. I guess I got really invested in this story. I had a lot of mixed feelings about the ending and I’m sure you would feel the same way I did. What Happened to Hong Hae In and Baek Hyun Woo?
Hong Hae In and Baek Hyun Woo went to Germany. Hong Hae In didn’t know that the surgery would cost her memories. Baek Hyun Woo couldn’t lie to her and told her about the aftereffects. Hong Hae In decided not to have the surgery. She didn’t want to lose herself and forget Baek Hyun Woo. Despite his pleading, she was firm about the decision.
After the car accident, Hong Hae In realized how sad and broken Baek Hyun Woo would be if she died. She decided to undergo surgery, and before it, wrote a diary about herself and her feelings for Baek Hyun Woo. She told Baek Hyun Woo to keep it and give it to her after the surgery.
But alas! After the surgery started, the Interpol arrested Baek Hyun Woo. He was suspected of killing Pyeon Seong Uk. When he saw Yoon Eun Seong, Baek Hyun Woo realized that he had fallen into his scheme.
Hong Hae In woke up confused, but the first thing she remembered was Baek Hyun Woo’s name.
Unfortunately, the one who was present was the villain Yoon Eun Seong. He introduced himself as her college boyfriend who parted ways but still loved each other. While Baek Hyun Woo is her ex-husband, a murder suspect, and her stalker.
Hong Hae In’s memories started to flood her dream and she often woke up with tears. She started to get curious about Baek Hyun Woo’s personality and went to investigate him. She went to the prison and was shocked to see how Baek Hyun Woo truly cared for her.
Hong Hae In returned to the company and met Secretary Na. She asked Secretary Na about how she used to be. Secretary Na only told Hong Hae In the good things. She hid the fact that Hong Hae In used to be a devil boss. 😂
Baek Hyun Woo was freed from prison after his lawyer friends and the Hongs helped him. Hong Hae In and Secretary Na spied on him. She was confused by how the Baek siblings treated each other and how amicable the Baek family was. Everything she saw was different from what Yoon Eun Seong told her.
Baek Hyun Woo returned to Queens. Hong Hae In felt awkward and tried to avoid him at the office. Later, they met again at the aquarium. Hong Hae In had arranged the date a month before her surgery. The aquarium employee had prepared a video of their wedding day and flowers for Baek Hyun Woo. There was a letter in the flowers.
It said that Hong Hae In wanted to have another wedding after she lost her memories.
Hong Hae In started to question why she would prepare all this for someone who cheated on her. Hong Hae In also noticed that there were scars on Baek Hyun Woo’s hand. She had a thought and had to confirm it. So, Hong Hae In went to see Yoon Eun Seong. She accidentally saw a video from Hong Man Dae’s spycam on Yoon Eun Seong’s tablet.
Hong Hae In’s doubt was confirmed when she noticed that there was no scar on Yoon Eung Seong’s hand. This proved that Yoon Eun Seong’s story about him becoming the hero in the car accident was a lie.
After returning to her room, Hong Hae In called Baek Hyun Woo and asked him to meet her. Then she saw a package on her table. It was the diary she wrote in Germany. The book miraculously survived the fire.
Hong Hae In read all the notes. She cried when she learned that Baek Hyun Woo was kind, easy to fool (😂), cute when he was drunk and tugged at her heartstrings when he cried. She wrote that Baek Hyun Woo is the reason why she did not want to lose her memories and why she wanted to live.
Hong Hae In left the house with her car and the tracker notified Yoon Eun Seong. Hong Hae In saw Baek Hyun Woo on the other side of the road. Baek Hyun Woo told her to stay and he would come to her. But when a bus passed, Hong Hae In disappeared. Baek Hyun Woo panicked and crossed the road, but then a car ran him over. He was taken to the hospital. At the same time, Hong Hae In woke up in a bedroom of the Hong family’s hunting ground villa.
Hong Hae In saw Yoon Eun Seong holding a rifle. He said he had to take her because he wanted to protect Hong Hae In from Baek Hyun Woo. Yoon Eun Seong was relieved to hear that Hong Hae In still did not believe in Baek Hyun Woo. Yoon Eun Seong asked Hong Hae In to leave together and get married. To please him, Hong Hae In said yes.
Despite his injuries, Baek Hyun Woo left the hospital quickly. He called Grace Ko and told her to tell Moh Seul Hee about Hong Hae In’s disappearance. Just like his prediction, Moh Seul Hee was upset and left. All Baek Hyun Woo needs to do just to follow her.
Baek Hyun Woo went to the Hong family’s hunting ground. He told Kim Yang Gi to call the police while he sneaked into the villa. Hong Hae In overheard Yoon Eun Seong and Moh Seul Hee talking about an accident 25 years ago. Hong Hae In left the villa with Baek Hyun Woo’s help. They ran, but Yoon Eun Seong found them. The fight ended with Baek Hyun Woo injured and Yoon Eun Seong dead.
After a long wait at the hospital, Baek Hyun Woo woke up and saw Hong Hae In at his side. They finally got back together in a touching scene.
After the final battle against Moh Seul Hee, the Hongs were reinstated. Hong Hae In returned as the CEO of Queens Department Store. Baek Hyun Woo also returned as the Legal Director.
Hong Hae In and Baek Hyun Woo started their relationship from the beginning once again. There were questions about their plan to remarry. However, after they opened up about their feelings, Hong Hae In and Baek Hyun Woo agreed to take things slowly.
They felt that their relationship was good and afraid that they would hurt each other again. The only thing that matters is they promise to stay by each other’s side. Hong Hae In and Baek Hyun Woo stayed together for another 50 years and had a daughter. After Hong Hae In died, Baek Hyun Woo visited her grave in the middle of the park in Germany.
What happened to Yoon Eun Sung?
Yoon Eun Sung learned that Hong Hae In would have surgery in Germany and lose her memory. He left Korea to fly to Germany, despite his mother’s objection. Yoon Eun Sung planned to start a new life with Hong Hae In by using her amnesia. To get rid of Baek Yun Woo, Yoon Eun Seong framed him for murdering Pyeon Seong Uk. After Baek Hyun Woo was arrested, Yoon Eun Seong said he was Hong Hae In’s legal guardian.
When Hong Hae In woke up, Yoon Eun Seong said he asked him to be there when she woke up. Yoon Eun introduced himself as Hong Hae In’s college boyfriend. They parted ways but still love each other.
Meanwhile, Baek Hyun Woo is her ex-husband, stalker, and murder suspect. Yoon Eun Seong brainwashed Hong Hae In. He made her believe that he was a good person, Baek Hyun Woo was her enemy, and the Hong family was greedy. He cut off Hong Hae In from anyone close to her.
Yoon Eun Seong was anxious when Hong Hae In went to see Baek Hyun Woo at the prison. He put a tracker in her car to prevent it from happening again. Meanwhile, Yoon Eun Seong faced another challenge. Baek Hyun Woo’s return and his mother’s ambition to be the chairman of Queens.
Yoon Eun Seong asked Hong Hae In to go with him to the US. He said they were abandoned by their family. But Hong Hae In didn’t believe that. Yoon Eun Seong found out that Hong Hae In left the house that night. He followed her and found out that she was going to meet Baek Hyun Woo. Jealousy kicked in. And later, Baek Hyun Woo was lying in the street, covered in blood.
Yoon Eun Seong took Hong Hae In to the villa at the hunting ground. He didn’t expect his mother would come too. Moh Seul Hee said he could leave, but Yoon Eun Seong had to leave the money and the file. Yoon Eun Seong sneered that he was good at keeping secrets.
Yoon Eun Seong talked about the boat incident that happened 25 years ago. It was Moh Seul Hee who arranged the boat accident that killed Hong Hae In’s older brother. Yoon Eun Seong agreed to give her the file, but he would not hand over the money. The conversation ended abruptly when Moh Seul Hee saw somebody was eavesdropping.
Yoon Eun Seong knew it was Hong Hae In. He looked for her and saw that Baek Hyun Woo had taken Hong Hae In away. Yoon Eun Seong took a rifle and went to find them. Baek Hyun Woo was too weak to go on, but Hong Hae In wouldn’t leave him. After a long time, Yoon Eun Seong found them. But at the same time, the police arrived.
Yoon Eun Song was furious to see Hong Hae In with Baek Hyun Woo. They had agreed to leave together. But Hong Hae In said it wouldn’t happen because she felt uneasy and disliked him. Yoon Eun Seong became mad. When Hong Hae In said “Over my dead body,” Yoon Eun Seong decided to take her life. He was so mad he didn’t care if he got shot by the police.
Baek Hyun Woo saw Yoon Eun Seong shoot Hong Hae In and run to shield her. The bullet pierces his back and he falls into the snow. The police shot Yoon Eun Seong as soon as he fired the rifle. Yoon Eun Seong lost his life that night.
What Happened to Moh Seul Hee?
Moh Seul Hee was worried because Yoon Eun Sung was fixated on Hong Hae In. She decided to help her son forget Hong Hae In. She arranged for a truck to hit Hong Hae In’s car, but the plan backfired because the accident made Hong Hae In decide to do the surgery and live.
However, the truck incident incites Yoon Eun Sung’s fury. He threatened Moh Seul Hee with evidence of her drugging Hong Man Dae. Yoon Eun Seong told her that if she ever touched Hong Hae In again, he would put her in jail. To return the threat, Moh Seul Hee tried to get Yoon Eun Seong removed from his position as chairman.
When Hong Hae In disappeared, Moh Seul Hee felt anxious. She ordered her subordinates to move the secret money from the safe. But someone said that Yoon Eun Seong had it all converted to dollars and taken away. Moh Seul Hee went to the hunting ground to find her son. Yoon Eun Seong gave her the file of evidence but refused to hand over the money.
Moh Seul Hee took her men and looked for the money herself. They found the money and loaded it into cars. A police officer came and told her that Yoon Eun Seong died. There wasn’t much feeling left for her to grieve. Moh Seul Hee only remembered the little boy who ran to chase her taxi while shouting that he would wait for her.
Out of the morgue, Moh Seul Hee asked her lawyer to transfer Yoon Eun Seong’s share to her. She calculated how much share she could buy using the secret money. For Moh Seul Hee, becoming the Queens chairman is more important than her dead son.
The Hongs sued Moh Seul Hee for illegally acquiring her share. Moh Seul Hee blamed Yoon Eun Seong and tried to gain sympathy. But it was all for nothing when Cheo Da Hye testified against her and Hong Hae In told the judges about the accident 25 years ago and how she killed her grandfather.
Moh Seul Hee’s lawyer was shocked when Baek Hyun Woo showed the evidence, which was a copy of Yoon Eun Seong’s spycam videos. Grace Ko took the file from Yoon Eun Seong’s desk to help the Hong family.
With solid evidence, which was ironically provided by her son, Moh Seul Hee was thrown into prison. She screamed she was innocent while the police dragged her there. Moh Seul Hee lost her grandeur when her inmates beat her.

What Happened to Cheon Da Hye and Hong Soo Cheol?
When Hong Beom Jun and Kim Seon Hwa returned to Seoul, Hong Soo Cheol stayed in Yongduri with his wife and son. He found happiness in the village. Before he left, Hong Beom Jun told Baek Du Gwan that leaving Hong Soo Cheol with the Baeks made him feel guilty. He felt like he was leaving trash after a trip. Baek didn’t understand why Hong said that. 😂😂
Moh Seul Hee came to Yongduri and met Cheon Da Hye. She threatened her to hand over a USB disk. But Cheon Da Hye said she’d give the USB to the police. later, Moh Seul Hee paid Jun Ho to kill Cheo Da Hye and took the USB.
Hong Soo Cheol saved Cheon Da Hye from Jun Ho. Before that, Cheon Da Hye decided to give the USB to Baek Hyun Woo. Meanwhile, Jun Ho and his accomplice were beaten by Hong Soo Cheol and Baek Hyun Tae.
Cheon Da Hye wanted to turn herself into the police and persuaded Grace Ko to follow her. They might go to prison, but Cheon Da Hye wanted to atone for her sins. She didn’t want to end up like Yoon Eun Seong. Hong Soo Cheol was shocked. Cheon Da Hye begged him to turn herself in.
After the trial, Cheo Da Hye and Grace Ko were imprisoned. Hong Soo Cheol waited with their son. When she was released from prison, Hong Soo Cheol took their son to pick Cheo Da Hye up. Grace Ko, who was also released, was happy when Hong Soo Cheol said his mother also told him to pick her up.
What Happened to the Hongs, the Baeks, and Everyone Else?
When Hong Hai In went into surgery, the Hongs and the Baeks prayed for her safety. They all hoped that the operation would go well and that she would live. However, the news that followed was that Baek Hyun Woo had been arrested.
After Hong Hae In and Yoon Eun Seong returned to Korea, the Hongs tried to help Baek Hyun Woo get out of prison. They hired a group of private detectives to gather more evidence about the murder. The detectives also work with Baek Hyun Woo’s lawyer friends.
Hong Beom Ja actively pursues Young Song by throwing a party to celebrate Baek Hyun Woo’s release. She brings many gifts for a raffle and manages to get a washing machine for Young Song. However, to her disappointment, Young Song gives the gift to his neighbor.
When they are alone, Hong Beom Ja protests his actions and asks Young Song why he does not take advantage of opportunities. She also tells him that she likes him and that she won’t come back once she’s gone.
However, Young Song still cannot make up his mind. Hong Beom Ja and Young Song’s faces turned red when they realized that the whole village was listening to their conversation. Hong Beom Ja runs away in embarrassment and Young Song chases after her.
Baek Hyun Woo’s parents panicked when they heard that he had been in a car accident. But when they went to the hospital, he was gone. The next thing they knew, they received news that Baek Hyun Woo had been taken to the hospital again because he had been shot.
The Baek’s and Hong’s found Hong Hae In cowering in the hospital with blood on her face and hands. She was crying desperately in the arms of Jeon Bong Ae, Baek Hyun Woo’s mother. When Baek Hyun Woo woke up, the whole family came with tears in their eyes.
The Hong brothers promised to take back everything that belonged to them. They prepared for the final battle against Moh Seul Hee. The Hongs won after Baek Hyun Woo presented solid evidence that Moh Seul Hee had drugged Hong Man Dae. The Hongs once again took over Queens.
Hong Beom Ja finally got the love of her life after Young Song came to her and confessed his love. Now the lovebirds stay together in Yongduri.
My Two Cents
I had a bit of a sad moment when I realized that there weren’t enough kissing scenes, but I’m happy that Hong Hae In and Baek Hyun Woo finally got theirs happily ever after after overcoming so many challenges together. I bet their subordinates were the first to celebrate. They are no longer trapped in the cold war between Hong Hae In and Baek Hyun Woo. But now they have to get used to Hong Hae In and Baek Hyun Woo’s lovey-dovey encounters.
