What Happened to Hua Ru Yue/Li Qing Yue/Si Ling and Bai Jiu Si on Feud Chinese Drama Ending?
Hua Ru Yue’s past unravels when Bai Jiu Si meets Xing E, the Goddess of Time. She shows him his karma. Three months after he sealed Hua Ru Yue’s spiritual energy and left, she was four months pregnant. Only Meng Chang Qin stayed by her side. Their son, Shi’an, was born mortal.
Later Shi’an got sick during a plague. Unable to pass on her power, Hua Ru Yue desperately prayed to the primordial god to find Bai Jiu Si. She bows until her forehead bled. No one came. Bai Jiu Si watched in agony as his son died and Hua Ru Yue carried his cold body away.

The heartbreak didn’t end there. Villagers, misled by a shady man, attacked Hua Ru Yue. They believed she was a witch. Meng Chang Qin was wounded protecting Hua Ru Yue. And on the last attack he was dying. Meng Chang Qin called her the best god in the world.
Hua Ru Yue lost control and unleashed her power to repelled the people before she collapsed. Captured and burned alive, Hua Ru Yue was later rescued by a wandering immortal who gave her a resurrection formation handbook. Hua Ru Yue vowed revenge. But when she tried to resurrect Shi’an, Bai Jiu Si’s spiritual strike destroyed the child’s primordial spirit.
Bai Jiu Si finally understood why she blamed him. He never knew what she endured. But it was the same for Hua Ru Yue. Blinded by anger, grief, frustration, and hatred, she had no idea that during those ten years, Bai Jiu Si was taking the punishment meant for her. He was chained and struck by ninety-nine lightning bolts every day for a full decade.
At the time, Xiao Jing Shan was punished on the same platform and only then realized Bai Jiu Si’s greatest weakness is Hua Ru Yue. That revelation became the seed of his plan to turn them against each other.
Ironically, Hua Ru Yue learned the truth from Xiao Jing Shan during their battle with Bai Jiu Si. To save Zhang Su An and atone for his past mistake, Bai Jiu Si took the Life-Link Curse upon himself.
But when the moment came, Hua Ru Yue couldn’t bring herself to kill him. Sensing her hesitation, Bai Jiu Si launched an attack on Xiao Jing Shan, shielding Hua Ru Yue from a fatal blow before collapsing into a coma.
When he finally regained consciousness, Bai Jiu Si had lost all memory and behaved like a child. The only thing he remembered was that he needed to find his wife. With no other option, Li Mo, Cang Tu, and Long Yuan brought him to Jingyun Sect, placing him in Hua Ru Yue’s reluctant care.
Surely, Hua Ru Yue refused at first. She had just made the decision to stay away from Bai Jiu Si for good. But with no other choice, she was forced to tolerate his clingy, childish behavior. Thanks to Xuan Wei’s persuasion, she eventually softened and helped Bai Jiu Si begin his recovery.
Alongside Zhang Su An, Fan Ling Er, and Lord Yu Ya, the group uncovered Xiao Jing Shan’s tragic past and the grudge that drove him to seek the destruction of the Infinite Stele. With new understanding, they prepared for the coming chaos. Meanwhile, Bai Jiu Si’s innocence slowly melted Hua Ru Yue’s icy resolve.
Xiao Jing Shan made his next move, throwing the realms into disorder. The mortal realm suffered mass soul loss, the Yinlian Sect fell under his control, and the Hell Ruins turn into chaos.
Hua Ru Yue realized Xiao Jing Shan aimed to scatter their forces. She took command, sending Bai Jiu Si’s disciples to handle the Hell Ruins while instructing Zi Yang, leader of Jingyun Sect, to escort Meng Chu and follow Qu Xing Man back to Yinlian Sect. Lv Su Guan joined later. Hua Ru Yue, Bai Jiu Si, Fan Ling Er, and Zhang Su An were tasked with retrieving lost souls.
She left the Qiyue Sword and leadership of Jingyun Sect in Xuan Wei’s hands before leave. Hua Ru Yue and the rest entering the illusion realm inside the Joy Stele. There, they tried to persuade the trapped souls to return. It wasn’t easy, but when Fan Ling Er proved her sincerity by offering her life, the people began to believe Hua Ru Yue and chose to leave.
In a battle, Bai Jiu Si was gravely injured by Xiao Jing Shan. To save him, Hua Ru Yue gave him her Life-Protecting Pearl. Watching this, Xiao Jing Shan immediately cast a Yin-Yang formation, trapping both inside.
Inside the formation, Bai Jiu Si’s true consciousness returned. He told Hua Ru Yue that only one of them could leave, and it would require one of their deaths to destroy the Yin-Yang balance. He convinced Hua Ru Yue to accept his end and live on in his place.
Hua Ru Yue got panicked, torn by the thought of losing him now that they had reconciled. But there was no other way. Bai Jiu Si urged her to stop blaming herself and live freely. After a final kiss, he vanished.
Hua Ru Yue emerged, heartbroken but resolute. She defeated Xiao Jing Shan. But before he vanished, Xiao Jing Shan entrusted Hua Ru Yue with a final magical artifact, the Time Traveling Sundial. He told her she would know what to do and she shouldn’t let him down.
Following Xiao Jing Shan death, the mortal world faced a worsening drought caused by the leakage of demonic energy from the Infinite Stele. Hua Ru Yue prepared to sacrifice her spiritual energy to restore balance. At that moment, Xing E, the Goddess of Time, visited her and explained that the sundial could alter the past, but not necessarily the future.
Hua Ru Yue tested this by going back to the day Xiao Jing Shan’s family perished. This time, the house still burned, but the people inside were saved. Returning to the present, she found nothing had changed. Bai Jiu Si and others were still dead.
Xuan Wei, learning of Hua Ru Yue’s plan to sacrifice herself, tried to stop her. He insisted on taking her place as repayment for her kindness over the years. His final message to Hua Ru Yue was to take care of herself, to treat meetings and partings lightly, and to let her heart guide her happiness.

He released all his energy to become the auspicious rain that ended the drought. Fan Ling Er comforted Hua Ru Yue, saying that it had been his choice. Xuan Wei was like her. they were willing to follow Hua Ru Yue till their death.
Inspired by Xuan Wei’s sacrifice and Fan Ling Er’s words, Hua Ru Yue found clarity. She used the sundial to revisit key moments in the past. First, she healed Hong Lian of her evil energy. Then, she appeared before young Xuan Wei, who was being bullied, and gave him a cultivation manual. Before leaving, she told him that if a girl ever gave him flowers, he should cherish her.
Next, she visited herself after slaying the drought dragon. The present Hua Ru Yue revealed the pregnancy and Bai Jiu Si’s heavenly punishment. When Bai Jiu Si showed up furiously, the past Hua Ru Yue embraced him and gently asked if the Heavenly Emissary had been hard to deal with.
Bai Jiu Si was astonished. He didn’t expect her to know about the visit. Hua Ru Yue also mentioned about the pregnancy that brought happiness and hope for both of them. That moment rewrote years of hatred and misunderstanding.
After appointing Zhang Su An as the new leader of Jingyun Sect, Hua Ru Yue set off once more. She declined Fan Ling Er’s offer to accompany her and left alone. She traveled to the ends of the world, returning to the place where she had once found Bai Jiu Si encased in ice. But this time, he wasn’t there. She lay on the frozen ground, whispering that she would stay by his side, and slowly drifted into a deep sleep.
No one knew how much time passed before Xing E came. She stroked Hua Ru Yue’s hair and poured her power into rebuilding Bai Jiu Si’s Life-Protecting Pearl. Slowly, his physical body formed.
Hua Ru Yue awoke to the flow of energy beneath her. The ice melted, and she tumbled into his body. She kissed him. He opened his eyes, recognized her, and pulled her back into another kiss.
What Happened to Fan Ling Er and Zhang Su An on Feud Chinese Drama Ending?
Fan Ling Er and Zhang Su An followed Hua Ru Yue and Bai Jiu Si in their search for the missing souls. These souls had been taken and trapped inside Xiao Jing Shan’s Joy Stele. Upon entering the illusionary realm of the Stele, they found the lost souls living their dream lives. But rather than welcoming help, the souls turned on them, accusing Hua Ru Yue and her group of being evil.

To avoid conflict, they hide in a secluded courtyard. After some hesitation, Fan Ling Er revealed she had located the formation’s core in the nearby street. It seemed too easy, and she feared it was a trap. But time was running out, and to open the exit door, the core had to be activated. Zhang Su An volunteered, but Fan Ling Er insisted on doing it herself.
The artifact was complex, and she didn’t have time to explain. She only asked for Zhang Su An’s spiritual energy, while he and Hua Ru Yue were to protect her.
What they didn’t know was that Fan Ling Er intended to sacrifice herself. She had discovered the core required a life to activate it. She believed the sacrifice was worth it to save hundreds.
Feeling useless for so long, she finally saw this as her way to truly help Hua Ru Yue. Her actions moved the people trapped in the illusion, and Fan Ling Er found peace in their awakening.
While Hua Ru Yue tended to a wounded Bai Jiu Si, Zhang Su An confronted Xiao Jing Shan. To break free, he destroyed all the power he had inherited from him. Though he nearly died, Zhang Su An mocked Xiao Jing Shan, calling him a pathetic stray dog with no companions.
Fan Jiao Jiao was devastated to learn his daughter’s life was in danger. He tried to save her, but failed. His heart broke when Fan Ling Er revealed that because he had destroyed her spiritual roots, she had no chance of reincarnation. He was left to regret the harm caused by his past selfishness.
Then Fan Jiao Jiao discovered that the man who stood by Fan Ling Er was Zhang Su An. Years ago, he had visited Lord Yu Ya, who told him that only a destined marriage with a boy named Zhang Su An could save Fan Ling Er from a deadly tribulation. Fan Jiao Jiao found the boy, gave him a jade pendant, and tied a red thread to his wrist.
Now, the jade pendant rested in Fan Ling Er’s hands. She believed Zhang Su An didn’t love her and couldn’t save her. But in truth, it wasn’t his love she needed. It was the unwavering love that Zhang Su An he held for Li Qing Yue.
The clarity triggered the red thread to glow, shielding Fan Ling Er from death. She underwent nirvana, becoming an immortal and regaining her spiritual energy. In the end, it was not love directed at her, but love witnessed through her, that helped Fan Ling Er survive the tribulation.
After Xiao Jing Shan’s death, Fan Ling Er returned to Jingyun Sect with Hua Ru Yue. Before departing, she had a conversation with her father. For the first time, Fan Jiao Jiao supported Fan Ling Er’s decision and simply asked her to visit when she had the time. It marked the beginning of a true father-daughter relationship.
Meanwhile, Meng Chu chose to return to Yinlian Sect with Qu Xing Man to help rebuild it. He passed the position of Sect Leader to Zhang Su An, insisting that leadership required not cultivation but conviction. And Zhang Su An had it.
When Bai Jiu Si asked if he would accept the role, Zhang Su An was stunned. Fan Ling Er initially wanted to follow Hua Ru Yue on her new journey to find Bai Jiu Si, but Hua Ru Yue stopped her. She told Fan Ling Er that the path ahead would be long and uncertain. Instead, Fan Ling Er should live her own life.
And so, both Zhang Su An and Fan Ling Er remained in Jingyun Sect. I can only hope that one day their bond will grow into something beautiful. Perhaps even something romantic since they still has marriage destiny between them. 🥰
What Happened to Xiao Jing Shan on on Feud Chinese Drama Ending?
Xiao Jing Shan was a gifted cultivator from the mortal realm, skilled in artifact forging. After ascending to the Nine Heavens, he repeatedly attempted to destroy the Infinite Stele and was ultimately punished, imprisoned on the Heavenly Punishment Platform. It was there he learned of Bai Jiu Si and Hua Ru Yue’s bond.

Xiao Jing Shan’s true target was never the couple. It was the Infinite Stele, where Lord Qing Xu’s name had been engraved. However, destroying it was no simple task. Bai Jiu Si had been assigned to protect the stele, and Hua Ru Yue stood firmly by his side.
Unable to defeat them both, Xiao Jing Shan devised a century-long plan to tear them apart, forcing them to turn against each other. His ultimate goal also required the Zhuri Sword and Qiyue Sword which wielded by Hua Ru Yue and Bai Jiu Si. He needed those swords to shatter the stele.
His hatred stemmed from a deep personal loss. Six hundred years ago, his family and friend were killed during Lord Qing Xu’s battle against the Lei bird. While his loved ones perished, Lord Qing Xu was hailed as a hero and immortalized on the stele. That injustice festered in Xiao Jing Shan’s heart.
When Bai Jiu Si destroyed Shi’an’s primordial spirit, Xiao Jing Shan believed his plan had finally succeeded. But once again, things fell apart. Though Bai Jiu Si was sealed, Hua Ru Yue also vanished. Another failure.
Later, Xiao Jing Shan saw a new opportunity when he encountered Zhang Su An. He hid within the young man’s body, waiting for the perfect moment to strike.
Convinced that the Heavenly Way was merciless and unchangeable, Xiao Jing Shan chose destruction over acceptance. After years of observation, he believed he had uncovered every vulnerability Hua Ru Yue and Bai Jiu Si had. But Hua Ru Yue refuted him. What he saw as weakness, she considered them as strength.
To divide their forces, Xiao Jing Shan simultaneously attacked the mortal world, the Yinlian Sect, and the Hell Ruins. While the others defended the realms, Hua Ru Yue and her allies pursued the Joy Stele.
Inside the illusionary realm of the Joy Stele, Xiao Jing Shan had crowned himself Heavenly Lord. He manipulated the trapped souls to see Hua Ru Yue and her companions as enemies. He knew the people were Hua Ru Yue’s soft spot.
But when Fan Ling Er selflessly offered her life to protect the innocents, the people’s faith began to shift. Fan Ling Er’s sincerity moved them, and Xiao Jing Shan was stunned to see them discard their fantasies for the truth.
After sealing Bai Jiu Si and Hua Ru Yue within a Yin-Yang formation, Xiao Jing Shan stormed the Jingyun Sect to take the Qiyue Sword. Many disciples had already fallen, including Lv Su Guan.
Xiao Jing Shan nearly killed Yin Tong Zi but relented at the memory of his own lost son. In the end, Xuan Wei was forced to hand over the sword, despite Meng Chu’s protest.
Meanwhile, the Nine Heavens suffered heavy losses. Long Yuan expended all his energy and even severed his poisoned arm. Hong Lian rushed to assist. To protect Canglei Palace, Li Mo sacrificed his primordial spirit to repel the demonic beasts.
Now with Zhuri and Qiyue on his hands, Xiao Jing Shan arrived at the Infinite Stele. But he could not use the swords unless Bai Jiu Si or Hua Ru Yue perished within the formation. He waited. But Hua Ru Yue escaped and confronted him in a fierce battle.
To overpower her, Xiao Jing Shan drew on the life force of mortals. Even though it means dooming his divine soul and sealing his fate without reincarnation. Yet Xiao Jing Shan pressed on. He couldn’t see that his path was wrong.
Hua Ru Yue called him out for his contradiction. Xiao Jing Shan wanting to prove Heaven’s cruelty yet raging at the righteousness born from it.
In the end, Hua Ru Yue was impaled by the Zhuri Sword, but it allowed her to reclaim it. Xiao Jing Shan hurled the Qiyue Sword at her, not knowing it still carried Bai Jiu Si’s protective spirit. The sword recognized Hua Ru Yue. With both weapons in hand, she launched a final, devastating strike.
The Infinite Stele began to crack. Determined to preserve it, Hua Ru Yue channeled all her energy to restore it. One by one, her friends appeared.
The immortals, Xuan Wei and also Meng Chu appeared. They poured their strength into saving the stele. Watching them, Xiao Jing Shan finally saw the truth: everything he believed in had been misguided
In a final act of redemption, he used the last of his life to create one final artifact, the Time-Traveling Sundial. He handed it to Hua Ru Yue with a plea not to let him down. As he faded into smoke, a small golden sundial appeared.
My Two Cents
To be honest, I still don’t fully understand the ending myself. After Hua Ru Yue went back in time and saved Xiao Jing Shan’s family and friends, what drove him to remain the villain? And after Bai Jiu Si learned about the pregnancy, did he still seal Hua Ru Yue’s spiritual energy? If he didn’t, then would Shi’an have grown up as an immortal like his parents? And if so, where is he now in the present timeline?
These questions have lingered in my mind, unanswered. That’s why it took me a while to finish this Feud ending explained post. Writing an ending I couldn’t completely wrap my head around was honestly quite difficult.
Feud Chinese drama is a story about divine powers and vengeance. But at its core, it’s about grief, love, and healing. Not all questions are answered, and not all wounds are healed. But perhaps that’s what makes it feel oddly real. The drama leaves you with tangled emotions and lingering what-ifs, just like what I had in my head right now.
But anyway, dear readers, I hope this still satisfies your curiosity. And still doesn’t stop you from watching and enjoying the ending for yourself. Thank you for stopping by, and I’ll see you again in another Drama Review & Ending Explained posts. Ciao
