What Happened to Yan Tuo and Nie Jiu Luo on Love on The Turquoise Land Ending?
Nie Jiu Luo decided that to save Yan Tuo, she had no choice but to return to the Hunters. She went back during the New Year celebration and revealed her hidden identity as Mad Blade. Her action caused another argument with Xing Shen, who still refused to believe in in Yan Tuo’s credibility.
Their argument was stopped by Yu Rong, who stayed clear headed. She said whether they chose to save Jiang Bai Chuan or Yan Tuo, they would still have to face Lin Xi Rou and her underlings.
Actually, Mad Blade’s identity had always hidden from other Hunters. Mad Blade was their last weapon against the Fiends. Nie Jiu Luo had already left the Hunters when she learned that she was the only one in her clan who could inherited the title.
Jiang Bai Chuan persuade her to not to be stubborn and not to sever the Hunters’ legacy. He secretly trained her as Mad Blade. Nie Jiu Luo later passed the trial and inherit Mad Blade title. All while keeping her identity hidden. Only two people knew, Jiang bai Chuan and Xing Shen.
Nie Jiu Luo and Yu Rong went to Roadsound’s abandoned mine to search for Yan Tuo. They found him curled up inside the cell. He didn’t react when Nie Jiu Luo called him. Only after he heard Yu Rong called Nie Jiu Luo’s name in panic, did he move.
Nie Jiu Luo and Yu Rong fought a half transformed humanoid Earth Fiend and almost lost if Sun Zhou hadn’t arrived. Nie Jiu Luo and Yu Rong were saved, but Sun Zhou lost his life. Nie Jiu Luo got angry knowing that Sun Zhou was kept by the hunters. Yu Rong explained and she finally calmed down, but her disappointment towards Xing Shen only deepened.
Yan Tuo was badly traumatized. He said that he could endure physical pain, but it was the despair that broke him. Later he opened up about his past. His family had planned to run away from Li Shuang Xiu. However, his mother insisted on waiting her husband, delaying everythng.
And because Yan Tuo got distracted by a duckling, he lost his sister. For years, Yan Tuo lost that memory due to trauma. The memories returned only after reading his mother’s diary. It was Li Shuang Xiu who took Yan Xin away.
Nie Jiu Luo also opened up about her hydrophobia. It was all because his father had once tried to commit suicide by drowning. He failed. Later, after Jiang Bai Chuan took her away, his father ended his life by jumping from a height. Mr. Nie was diagnosed of depression after his wife, Pei Ke, never returned from a patrol mission.
Yan Tuo, Lin Ling and Mr. Chang Xi lived peacefully with Nie Jiu Luo and Mrs. Lu for a while. It was the calm before the storm, as the Hunters were preparing for a major battle against the Fiends.
Lin Xi Rou also asked Yan Tuo to come with the Hunters. She said she’ll bring Yan Xin with her. Yan Tuo know very well that it was only a bait to lure him. however, he was determined to end everything.
The day arrived. The Hunters will face the Fiends at the Twilight Chasm beneath the Golden Fate. They held the ceremony and followed ancient route that was abandoned for years. They ran into trouble, but Nie Jiu Luo solved it, and they proceeded to the Chasm.
Along the way, Yan Tuo stayed by Nie Jiu Luo’s side. When Nie Jiu Luo was having nightmare at the tent, he was there to wake her up. But the dream was too frightening she had to hold onto him to calm herself. Seeing them together, Yu Rong teased Nie Jiu Luo for able to find time for romance amidst her busy roles. However, Nie Jiu Luo said that she was simply living the moment.
The battle inside the Twilight Chasm was brutal. Both sides suffered heavy losses, mainly because of the Earth Demons. Lin Xi Rou finally recognized Nie Jiu Luo as Mad Blade. Elsewhere, Yan Tuo was shocked to see the severely injured Feng Mi. She revealed that the Earth Demons were the Hunters from twenty years ago.
They had been wounded by Fiends and never had the chance to kindle natural fire to heal. They locked themselves inside the Chasm and transformed to what they are today. They wouldn’t come out without any reason. Yan Tuo realized it was Xing Shen who had summoned them.
Feng Mi had always had a soft spot for Yan Tuo because she likes him. During the time when he was imprisoned in the mine, she secretly bought him tangerines. When a demon appeare before them, Feng Mi urged him to leave while she stayed behind to fight the demon. Even in her final moments, Feng Mi protected him.
Lin Xi Rou told Yan Tuo that their meeting was both a reunion and a farewell. She said that Yan Xin was long gone, and he would join her soon. Lin Xi Rou shot Yan Tuo and stabbed Nie Jiu Luo. but then a Mad Blade Demon appeared and killed her instantly.
Yan Tuo lost his consciousness. In his dream, Yan Tuo saw Yan Xin. She told him to stop looking for her and said she was happy. When he woke up, Yan Tuo saw the grieving Hunters. Many Hunters were dead. Nie Jiu Luo was nowhere to be found.
Yu Rong handed Yan Tuo her blade and told him a Demon dragged Nie Jiu Luo away. Yu Rong then sent Yan Tuo to Lv Xian’s place. He was unconscious for a week.
Yan Tuo returned to Nie Jiu Luo’s house. He told Ms. Lu that she had decided to stay at a temple for a while. Yan Tuo couldn’t stay away from work for long, so he returned first. Lin Ling knew that something has happened to Nie Jiu Luo. While Ms. Lu felt uneasy and worry about Nie Jiu Luo.
Yan Tuo later found an old photo album in Nie Jiu Luo’s studio. He saw that her mother’s picture and realized the white-haired Demon who killed Lin Xi Rou looked just like her. He refused to believe that Nie Jiu Luo was dead and he promised Lin Ling that he will bring her back.
The next day, he went to the base and showed the picture to Yu Rong and Que Cha. He believed that Nie Jiu Luo was protected by her mother. They returned to the mountain and brought all the equipment needed. Yan Tuo learned to use the War Ocarina from Ma Han Zi. Led by Yu Rong, the three entered the Twilight Chasm again.
They summoned the Earth Demon, and Pei Ke appeared. It turned out that the Demons lived side by side with the Fiends, possibly guarding them. Yan Tuo asked where Nie Jiu Luo is and Pei Ke pointed toward the reiver below the cliff, as if to say that Nie Jiu Luo was there before disappeared into the darkness.
To find Nie Jiu Luo, they prepared everything and returned to the Twilight Chasm again. This time they were ready for underwater exploration. Yan Tuo and Yu Rong dive while Que Cha monitored them.
Sense danger, Yan Tuo sent Yu Rong back to the surface while he ventured alone into a mysterious tunnel. He lost his consciousness and woke in a strange place where water floated above his head while the ground remained dry.
Yan Tuo saw the wall was covered with red membranes. He touch it and it started to tremble. Yan Tuo tore it open and entered the tunnel behind it. Touching the membranes wounded his skin. Yan Tuo was pained all over, but he kept moving forward.
Inside, he found Nie Jiu Luo wrapped in a cocoon of Yuwang Meat. He tried hard to rip the Yuwang Meat with his bare hand. He managed to freed her and brought the unconscious Nie Jiu Luo back to the surface.
Nie Jiu Luo dreamed of her past, including her father’s suicide. She also dreamed of her mother and cried on her embrace. When she woke up, Yan Tuo rushed to her. However, Nie Jiu Luo didn’t remember him at all. She had amnesia.
It’s exactly what Yan Tuo said to Yu Rong, he was experiencing the most cliché plot ever. Yu Rong said that it might happened because of the Mad Blade pill which traded life for victory. But something in Yu Rong’s words that made him determine to make Nie Jiu Luo remember him.
So, Yan Tuo began to pursue Nie Jiu Luo again. But she was so cold and distant. No matter what he did, Nie Jiu Luo remained indifferent. But slowly she began to accept his presence. When he suddenly left, Nie Jiu Luo unexpectedly felt disappointed.
At a cat café run by Yu Rong and Que Cha, Yan Tuo confided about his situation to them. They told him that the more he coax Nie Jiu Luo, the less she cares about him.
Yan Tuo should keep his distance, so Nie Jiu Luo could see his value. When he thought it would take a long time, she called. It turned out that after she learned that he left, Nie Jiu Luo felt her heart was empty.
Yan Tuo negotiated with Nie Jiu Luo. She agreed to talk for 15 minutes every day and read 5 stars to help recover her memories. In return, she agreed to go on a three day trip with him and solve problems with words instead of fist. 😂
Yan Tuo and Nie Jiu Luo went to the mountain top to camp. He cooked her noodles and she recognize the taste. Old memories start to resurface, but none of it was pleasant. It was all about what happened in the Chasm.
Yan Tuo didn’t forget to give Nie Jiu Luo fives tars to read that night. One of them describing a family dinner with Yan Tuo, Ms. Lu, Mr. Chang Xi, and Lin Ling. The word family stayed with her.
The next morning, Nie Jiu Luo dissapeared. Yan Tuo chased her to her hometown and spend the day with her. Nie Jiu Luo told him many things about her childhood before they return to her house. That night, for the first time, Nie Jiu Luo ate her dinner at the dining room with him.
On a stormy night, Yan Tuo entered the studio to close the window. Nie Jie Luo was asleep at the sofa. Her finger trembled as she was deep in nightmare. A lightning woke her up. Seeing Yan Tuo so close turned on her hunter mode.
Nie Jiu Luo kicked him and rushed to attack him. Yan Tuo desperately called her to wake her up from stupor. A sculpture fell and shattered. Memories of them surged back and Nie Jiu Luo remembered everything.
The next morning, they wake up at the same bed, smiling at each other. Nie Jiu Luo said that she wanted to see her mother. Yan Tuo accompanied her to the Twilight Chasm. He used the ocarina to call Pei Ke. When Nie Jiu Luo saw her, she called her “Mom”.
Pei Ke said nothing, just stare at her daughter. It seemed that Pei Ke really recognized Nie Jiu Luo, because she turned around and see her once again before she retreating into the darkness.
Mr Lu, Nie Jiu Luo’s agent, arranged a solo exhibition for Nie Jiu Luo. It titled Stripping, meaning resurrection. Nie Jiu Luo said that she had felt trapped inside a thin membrane for years. Her relationship with the world was real but feel hazy and indistinct. When Yan Tuo saved her from the Chasm, it brought her clarity.
The exhibition was success. By the end of it, a young man came to Mr. Lu and said he wanted to buy all the sculpture, including the masterpiece which looked like the membrane inside the Twilight Chasm. Mr. Lu was overjoyed. The young man’s hand hovered above his shoulder before he patted it and left.
While Yan Tuo and Nie Jiu Luo was talking about their life at the balcony, the young man was seen calling his grandfather. The old man only wanted the masterpiece, but he concealed his intent by buying the entire exhibition. When his grandson asked what is so special about the piece, he said that it reminded him of his home.
What Happened to the Hunters and the Fiends on Love on The Turquoise Land Ending?
Xing Shen and the Hunters captured four humanoid Fiends using information from Yan Tuo. They planned to exchange them for Jiang Bai Chuan. Four teams were dispatched, and Nie Jiu Luo assisted by tracking Lin Xi Rou’s movements.
After losing the Fiends and Lin Ling, Lin Xi Rou called the Hunters in fury. Xing Shen answered and offered the Fiends back in exchange for Jiang Bai Chuan and Yan Tuo.
Lin Xi Rou’s suspicion was confirmed after that call. She took Xiong Hei to confront Yan Tuo, but it ended with Yan Tuo scratching the skin beneath her eyes. Without her blood bag, Lin Xi Rou could not heal herself. A small wound could become dangerous for her. Furious, she sent Yan Tuo to the mine and drew a clear line between human and Fiend, severing their relationship completely.
When he told Nie Jiu Luo about the call, she got angry. Xing Shen just exposed their connection to Yan Tuo. She was afraid it will endanger his life. Xing Shen didn’t care about Yan Tuo. He said creating chaos for Lin Xi Rou would benefit them.
Nie Jiu Luo told him that from start to finish, Xing Shen only ever thought about himself. Actually, Xing Shen disliked and distrusted Yan Tuo because of his feelings for Nie Jiu Luo. Still, it did not affect his loyalty to the Hunters or the mission.
Meanwhile, with Ma Han Zi’s help, Xing Shen uncovered the truth behind humanoid Earth Fiends. They discovered Yuwang Meat, a substance that allowed Earth Fiends to transform into humans.
Ma Han Zi concluded that the Earth Fiends were once human, their genes altered and fused with other species, creating them. If they prediction was right, Yuwang Meat could also reverse the process.
After fighting off Fiends who tried to take Lin Ling, Xing Shen apologized to Nie Jiu Luo. She told him an apology meant nothing. All she wanted was for him to treat Yan Tuo with respect if they ever met again.
Further investigation led to another discovery. The South Mountain Ocarina was made from special soil from the Turquoise Land and could summon Earth Demons. Xing Shen went alone to retrieve it, he got his own plan.
The Hunters prepared to enter the Twilight Chasm. Their goal was to seal the Youtang Mine, rescue the hostages, and wipe out the Fiends. Xiao Ge Zhi volunteered to seal the mine, and Xing Shen agreed. He also instructed Yu Rong to give Yan Tuo a tranquilizer gun which powerful enough to knock a human out for more than two days.
The team and the hostage Fiends arrived a day before the D Day. They took an ancient route through Village Four, walked in circles, before finding a hidden mechanism.
Yu Rong suspected Xing Shen had been there before and asked Nie Jiu Luo to ask him. Nie Jiu Luo refused. At that moment, she did not want to challenge the group’s trust in him. She only reminded Yu Rong that Xing Shen’s loyalty to the Hunters surpassed everyone else, including them.
As the Hunters entered the Golden Gate, Xiao Ge Zhi and his team sneaked into the Roadsound Mine. They discovered that the Fiends has their own passage leading directly to the Twilight Chasm. The discovery was confirmed after they saw Jiang Bai Chuan and four other Hunters.
Xiao Ge Zhi then decided to confront Lin Xi Rou head on, threatening them with bombs. Yet, they were outnumbered. Xiao Ge Zhi has no choice but to sacrifice their lives. However, Lin Xi Rou managed to escape, bringing Jiang Bai Chuan, Hunters, and her close confidantes. Fortunately, Xiao Ge Zhi survived.
Inside the Twilight Chasm, the Earth Demons appeared and attacked both Hunters and Fiends. The Hunters were shocked to see Earth Demons used South Mountain Hunters’ combat techniques. The Demons had been summoned by Xing Shen using the War Ocarina. He hoped they would help, not knowing they could no longer tell friend from foe.
Yu Rong and Que Cha discovered the Earth Fiend nest, covered in red membranes. Someone had already entered. They moved carefully and found Jiang Bai Chuan inside. They were overjoyed, but he told them to stay back and explained that his pupil was pierced by the red thread, he couldn’t leave the Chasm. Que Cha was heartbroken.
The remaining Hunters gathered. Jiang Bai Chuan declared the mission complete since the hostages were gone and he could not leave. He explained the truth about the Earth Demons and comforted the Hunters. He also said that joining their predecessors wasn’t a bad ending. He ordered them to evacuate ASAP.
The situation changed when primal Earth Fiends emerged from the darkness. The Hunters fought again, but they were at a disadvantage. Left with no choice, Nie Jiu Luo swallowed a pill hidden in her blade hilt. She hugged Yan Tuo as she waited for it to take effect.
The Mad Blade pill made her faster and more brutal. She slayed the primal Fiends fiercely. While the other fought with humanoid Earth Fiends. Shang Qiang was killed by Yang Zheng, who then attacked Yu Rong. Yan Tuo saved her.
Xing Shen fought Xiong Hei fiercely. But when he realized there was no way out, Xing Shen threw himself off the cliff and dragged Xiong Hei with him. Yang Zheng seized Que Cha’s bow and aimed at Nie Jiu Luo. Jiang Bai Chuan stopped him but was killed in the process.
The losses were devastating. Shang Qiang, Jiang Bai Chuan, and many others fell. Lin Xi Rou, Xiong Hei, Yang Zheng, Feng Mei, and their followers were also dead. Nie Jiu Luo and Xing Shen’s fates were unknown.
Xing Shen was presumed dead, with only his ocarina recovered. Nie Jiu Luo was dragged away by the demon who killed Lin Xi Rou. The injured team could not search for her, fearing more Fiends would appear. Yan Tuo survived, but was shattered by the news.
Yu Rong became the only leader left. The Hunters followed her orders and held a ceremony for the fallen, carving their names onto bone and hanging them beside those of their predecessors. Life slowly moved on. Peace seemed to return to the South Mountain.
Yu Rong and Que Cha later opened a cat café. Yu Rong abandoned her street-punk style and dressed like an ordinary young woman. After Nie Jiu Luo regained her memories and confirmed her mother was alive, the altar was opened again. She removed both her name and her mother’s. More good news followed when Mrs. Hu finally woke from her coma.
What Happened to Lin Ling and Lv Xian on Love on The Turquoise Land Ending?
Lv Xian helped Lin Ling escape from Lin Xi Rou’s grasp. He followed Nie Jiu Luo’s plan, and it worked. Lin Xi Rou suspected his involvement, but because he was badly injured, she let him go. The one who injured him was, of course, Nie Jiu Luo. 😉
Lin Ling was taken to Mr. Chang Xi’s house. After years of control and oppression, freedom made her uneasy rather than relieved. She felt lost. Nie Jiu Luo reassured her that she had plenty of time to figure out her own life. During her stay, Lin Ling learned that Li Shuang Xiu, later known as Lin Xi Rou, was Li Er Gou’s cousin.
Li Shuang Xiu forced Yan Tuo’s father to draft a will that handed over all his assets. Yan Tuo became her hostage, leaving his parents no choice. It was Mr. Chang Xi who later gave Yan Tuo his mother’s diary.
Lin Ling was actually Li Er Gou’s sister. After Li Er Gou went missing, Lin Xi Rou tracked down his parents and offered them money to have another child. This child will be her blood bag. For the money, Li Ergou’s parents got back together and had Lin Ling. This poor girl was born from a transaction between Lin Xi Rou and her parents.
When Xiong Hei raided the dumpling shop, Lin Ling and Mr. Chang Xi were protected by Nie Jiu Luo, Yu Rong, and Xing Shen. Nie Jiu Luo brought them to her house, where Lin Ling and Chang Xi stayed. Mr. Chang Xi slowly grew closer to Ms. Lu. Meanwhile, Lv Xian missed Lin Ling deeply.
Lin Ling grew uneasy when she heard that Yan Tuo and Nie Jiu Luo were going on a trip. Yan Tuo knew he could not hide the truth from her and told her everything. Lin Ling was afraid something would happen to him, but Yan Tuo reassured her. Even so, she could not help envying Nie Jiu Luo and Yan Tuo for having a clear goal. Years of oppression had taken a toll on her.
After the battle at the Twilight Chasm, Yan Tuo was badly injured. Lv Xian did everything he could to save him. After Yan Tuo woke up, Lv Xian showed him a family photo and told him about his past.
Lv Xian’s father suffered from leukemia but he was lucky to find a matching marrow donor. Before the surgery, the donor went missing, and his father could not be saved. Lv Xian’s mother worked hard to raise him but passed away three years later.
Later, the Roadsound Group sponsored Lv Xian’s education, and he opened his clinic. Eventually, he learned that the donor’s disappearance was connected to Lin Xi Rou. The donor had been taken as her blood bag, and that person was likely Li Er Gou, Lin Ling’s brother. The truth haunted Lv Xian.
He realized that the person who saved him had also destroyed his family. He could not love and hate Lin Xi Rou like Yan Tuo did. So he chose to help Yan Tuo in every way he could. Helping Yan Tuo felt like saving himself.
After Nie Jiu Luo went missing, Yan Tuo promised to bring her back. Before leaving, he gave Lin Ling a bank card. He said he did not know when he would return. If she did not want to go back to the Roadsound house, she could stay at Nie Jiu Luo’s place.
He told her to live normally. Go out, study abroad, or invest her money. Lin Ling refused and said she would not go anywhere. She wanted to wait for her brother to return.
When everything finally ended, Lv Xian decided to start over. He rented out his place and invited Lin Ling to a meal. She arrived looking completely different, dressed up and radiant, leaving him stunned. She gave him a potted plant and wished him a life free of worry and burden.
She said that since they had both survived hardships, they deserved a fresh start. The plant could be a welcome gift for their first meeting. Lv Xian was genuinely happy. Lin Ling then noticed the plush toy she once liked during their first date, when Si Jie had followed them around. She smiled, touched that he still remembered.
My Two Cents
I was hoping that Xing Shen was still alive. After all, he is the Mad Dog. His blood is special. I thought so, but not because I liked his character. Honestly, Xing Shen’s character was pretty annoying. But someone like him shouldn’t die so easily. I still think something more caused his relationship with Nie Jiu Luo to become strained.
