Lu Yun then mentioned his father, Lu Jie, and his desire to follow in his footsteps. This reason moved Lu Yun’s uncle’s heart, and he finally agreed to let Lu Yun go to serve the country.

Desperate to find Luo Ling Yu, Lu Yun searched the camp’s tents, but found only a wedding invitation from Fan Qing Chen. Determined, he rode off alone to the mountain in search of her.
In the middle of the vast snowy expanse, Lu Yun finally spotted the cage. His heart raced as he rushed towards it, unaware of the trap Fan Qing Chen had carefully laid for him.
Lu Yun found himself tied to a torture device when he woke up. There was dynamite in front of him, and it was also next to Luo Ling Yu’s cage. Fan Qing Chen told Luo Ling Yu that if she killed Lu Yun, then her life would be spared.

The subordinate then noticed a painting of Luo Ling Yu and pointed out that the woman in the painting was the same one who had been helping Lu Yun. Fan Qing Chen, however, didn’t believe that Luo Ling Yu would willingly put herself in danger for him.
Fan Qing Chen immediately changed the battle plan and ordered his subordinates to collect all the gunpowder and bring it to the front line. He wanted to attack Nanyue as soon as possible. His subordinate tried to dissuade him, but Fan Qing Chen was determined to attack Nanyue head on.
Fan Qing Chen no longer cared that the battle was for Beichu’s victory. In his mind, he only cared about getting Luo Ling Yu.
Fang Qing Chen kidnapped Luo Ling Yu from the Nanyue Camp and locked her in his room. Luo Ling Yu was afraid to see how obsessed Fan Qing Chen was with her.
Contrary to Luo Ling Yu’s feelings, Fan Qing Chen was happy to see her again. He told Luo Ling Yun that he had survived and taken refuge with the Third Prince of Beichu. He helped the prince ascend the throne and eventually became his advisor.
For Fan Qing Chen, all the hardships he faced were worth it because he could hold her hand again. He emphasized that he no longer cared about Beichu’s victory. His only goal now was to trap Luo Ling Yu in the cage so that they would never be separated again. Hearing those words from his mouth, Luo Ling Yu felt a chill run down her spine.
To eliminate Lu Yun, Fan Qing Chen set up a trap atop a snow-capped mountain, using Luo Ling Yu as bait. Lu Yun, who rushed to save Luo Ling Yu, unaware he was walking into Fan Qing Chen’s trap. When he awoke, he was tied to a torture device, and Luo Ling Yu’s cage stood nearby.

The two fought, until the roaring avalanche swallowed them both.
My Musing
Okay, first of all… the CGI was really off, and the battle scenes were disappointing. The story rushed so much towards the end. It didn’t take long for Luo Ling Yu to decide to go to Jingyang, and in a blink, the ‘aid of her childhood memories’ conveniently led her to the secret chamber.
I wanted to complain about how flawless Lu Yun’s makeup and hair were, even after fighting on the battlefield. I really wish more Cdramas would take inspiration from The Rebel Princess drama. Xiao Qi’s disheveled hair while fighting in battle felt so much more realistic to me as a viewer.
