Prince Ying and Zheng Shi Yuan were after Duan Wu’s blood-stained pearl. Zheng Shi Yuan kidnapped Duan Wu and buried her alive in order to get it. To find out Duan Wu’s whereabouts, Zhang Jin Ran threatened to arrest Zheng Shi Yuan, but Prince Ying appeared and took him away.

While Zhang Jin Ran and Prince Ying were arguing, Yan Zi Jing kidnapped Zheng Shi Yuan from Prince Ying’s men to get the information as well. After being beaten by Yan Zi Jing, Zheng Shi Yuan confessed Duan Wu’s whereabouts. Luckily for Zheng Shi Yuan, Li Kui suddenly appeared and saved him.

After she was found, Duan Wu pretended to die. The Clear Mind shop held a funeral for her. This is a strategy to catch Prince Ying and Zheng Shi Yuan off guard. As for the pearl, Duan Wu decided to destroy it because it brings harm to too many people. Because of this incident, Duan Wu, Yan Zi Jing, and Zhang Jin Ran found out the relationship between Prince Ying, Li Kui, and Zheng Shi Yuan.

Zhang Jin Ran announced that Xu Nan Ying would be executed to lure the Black Dragon Bandits. The strategy worked as Prince Ying ordered Li Kui to rescue him. Li Kui ambushed the convoy and took Xu Nan Ying away.

But Yan Zi Jing stopped him. Only then did Yan Zi Jing realize that Li Kui’s real identity was Yu Chi Wu Yi. Yan Zi Jing’s eyes were filled with despair at being betrayed by someone he trusted so much.

Before he left, Zhang Jin Ran stared at Yan Zi Jing and told him to wait for his return. Yan Zi Jing of course understands the meaning of his words. He just smiles and thanks Zhang Jin Ran. However, Yan Zi Jing’s heart was in turmoil. He couldn’t bear to leave her, but he had to.

Yan Zi Jing’s waiting and hard work finally paid off. The Emperor issued a decree that clear the Yan Family’s name. He also returned all of their properties and rewarded them funeral ceremony and a hundred bolts of cloth. The truth was 20 years too late, but justice was still served.

Zhang Jin Ran has been suspicious that Prince Ying was behind the Black Dragon Bandit. He confirmed it after Zhang Jin Ran found Xu Lin and Xu Nan Ying’s secret letter. He purposely announced the execution to lure the Black Dragon Bandits and Xu Lin out of their hiding places.

After he captured Zheng Shi Yuan, Zhang Ji Ran was stopped by Prince Ying. He demanded Zhang Ji Ran to hand over Zheng Shi Yuan. The prince forcefully took Zheng Shi Yuan. But Zhang Ji Ran was already took Zheng Shi Yuan somewhere else.

Enraged, Prince Ying pointed his sword at Zhang Ji Ran. And in front of everyone present, Zhang Jin Ran cut off his clothes as a symbol of ending their brotherhood. He no longer wanted to be tied with the prince no matter how close their relationship was. Prince Ying gritted his teeth and left.

And they were right. They managed to catch Zheng Shi Yuan and the secret ledger. However, Zheng Shi Yuan died at the hands of Cui Shi Jiu. Zhang Ji Ran and Yan Zi Jing found out that the money from Black Dragon Bandit’s robbery was transferred directly to the place where Prince Ying needed it.

The money never came to Chang’an, therefore nobody could link the Black Dragon Bandits’ robbery with the highly esteemed Prince Ying. He basically raised bandits to gain power, wealth, and troops. Zhang Jin Ran arrest Yu Chi Wu Yi and he confessed his crime. Now Zhang Jin Ran had enough proof to arrest Prince Ying. He then brought them to the capital for a trial as well as to clear the Yan Family’s name.

Zhang Jin Ran learned about Yan Zi Jing’s poison and tried hard to help him. For Zhang Jin Ran, Yan Zi Jing was not his love rival anymore. He had become his good friend. And he regretted that he couldn’t help him with the antidote.

What Happened to Cui Shi Jiu / Cui Zhuo Hua on The Story of Pearl Girl Ending Explained?

Cui Shi Jiu was devastated after Zheng Zhi Heng died. Only after Duan Wu talked to her, Cui Shi Jiu came to her senses. When the news about Duan Wu’s death spread around the city, Cui Shi Jiu was shocked at first. Later she made a plan to send Zheng Shi Yuan to the underworld and only then she would offer condolences to Duan Wu.

Cui Shi Jiu took Zheng Shi Yuan’s brothers to the Zheng Mansion. she has three motives. First, to return Zheng Zhi Heng’s memorial tablet to the ancestral hall of the Zheng family. second, to find a proof of Zheng Shi Yuan’s crime. And lastly, to take Lady Yu, Zheng Zhi Heng’s mother to Zhenlan Pavillion.

Duan Wu, who pretended to die, made an appearance at the Yangzhou Jewellery Guild to expose Zheng Shi Yuan’s crime. Duan Wu showed the guild members the secret ledger that contain a prove of Zhegn Shi Yuan corruption. Duan Wu got the ledger from Cui Shi Jiu. Learning that Zheng Shi IYuan had been using their annual fees that their pay painstakingly, the members were enraged.

At that moment, Cui Shi Jiu also announces her new identity. Now, she was no longer connected to the Cui or Zheng family and stood on her own feet. To start anew, Cui Shi Jiu changed her name to Cui Zhuo Hua.

Zhang Ji Ran released Zheng Shi Yuan from prison because he refused to confess. Lady Yu heard the conversation between Cui Shi Jiu and her guard. She decided to take action and went to the Zheng mansion alone. Lady Yu failed to stab Zheng Shi Yuan, but Cui Shi Jiu came and helped her.

But in the end, it was Cui Shi Jiu who managed to kill Zheng Shi Yuan. She felt a sense of relief seeing the dead Zheng Shi Yuan, although her body was badly wounded.

After brushing with death, Cui Shi Jiu had become wiser and calm. Her relationship with Duan Wu turns from enemy into friendship. She told Duan Wu that she wished to be the head of the Yangzhou Jewellery Guild. She wanted to reform the role of passing the guild to men, not women. She wanted a thriving and vibrant new guild.

Meanwhile, Prince Ying also faces another threat to his crime. A letter suddenly appeared. It said that if Xu Nan Ying died, all the things from the past would come to light. It was written by Xu Lin. Xu Lin is the servant of Xu Nan Ying. Before he was taken to the authorities, Xu Nan Ying gave Xu Lin a secret letter, which was Xu Nan Ying’s way out if he ever got into trouble.

The blood-stained pearl never made it to Prince Ying’s hand, and Tian Zi Jing threatened to destroy the pearl if Zheng Shi Yuan didn’t appear at the Jewelry Guild. Prince Ying, who was more concerned about the pearl than Zheng Shi Yuan’s life, told him to go. Zheng Shi Yuan couldn’t refuse, even though he was sure that Zhang Jin Ran would capture him if he went there. AAANNDD.. He is right.

To his surprise, Duan Wu appeared at the meeting, smashed the pearl, and revealed all of his crimes to the members, even showing them the ledger that Cui Shi Jiu had taken from Zheng’s mansion. Zhang Jin Ran also showed up to arrest him.

Since Zheng Shi Yuan refused to confess his crimes, Zhang Jin Ran had an idea. Zheng Shi Yuan was released from prison. Zhang Jin Ran also spread rumors that Zheng Shi Yuan had confessed to his crime. To save himself from Prince Ying, Zheng Shi Yuan went back to the Zheng Mansion to get another secret ledger. As a cunning person, Zheng Shi Yuan always had a backup plan that would surely keep him safe.

After retrieving the ledger, Zheng Shi Yuan could not go out freely because Lady Yu and Cui Shi Jiu came for him. Zheng Shi Yuan was almost stabbed by Lady Yu, and just as he was about to kill her, Cui Shi Jiu appeared and saved Lady Yu.

To vent his anger, Zheng Shi Yuan kicked Cui Shi Jiu down the stairs, and when he realized that Duan Wu and Yan Zi Jing had come to kill him, Zheng Shi Yuan took Cui Shi Jiu hostage. My Two Cents

I really like the scene of the portrait painting in episode 36. It is similar to when we take pictures of our family on vacation, except that it takes a lot more time. Zhao Lu Si’s attempt to make her shoulders straight was a spot-on performance.

I really didn’t expect this drama to end in such a painful way. I had hoped that Duan Wu and Yan Zi Jing could have a good life together. But alas. The writer didn’t give them a chance. After living in misery for more than 20 years, Yan Zi Jing only has a few months to be happy. Poor boy.
