Hola readers… Another Love Between Fairy and Devil episode recap for you. In these episodes 16 and 17, we will see a glimpse of Dongfang Qingcang’s younger days and his relationship with his father. His relationship with Xiao Lan Hua was tense too. I feel bad for the little orchid. Let’s find out what was exactly happening between them. But first, new characters. Let’s go!

New Characters Appearance

The Old Moon Supreme Lord

The Old Moon Supreme Lord was Dongfang Qingcang and Dongfang Xunfeng’s father. He was a good tribe leader and a good father. However, when the situation between the fairies and the Moon Tribe worsen, he had to take an extreme measure which was to turn Dongfang Qingcang into the strongest person in three realms to protect Cangyan Sea and the Moon Tribe people.

Auntie Wu

Auntie Wu was Dongfang Qingcang’s nanny. She was the one who taught him to play zither and carved wood. She accompany him in his younger days before his feelings were removed. Later, she was executed by the Old Moon Supreme Lord.

Episode 16

Xiao Lan Hua saw that many women in the hunting camp wore white flowers in their hair. She picked the same flower and put it in her hair. But an old lady forbade her from doing that. She said that the Frost Salt Flower was not for anyone. Only those who lost their husband could wear the flower.

The old lady explained that all these years during the civil unrest, all the male members of the tribe had to go to the battlefield and left the women at the village. Each day, when death news comes there will be one more woman wearing those flowers. Right now, almost every woman in the tribe was seen wearing a flower in their head.

Dongfang Qingcang saw and heard the conversation. His face did not showed any emotions but he look dejected. A white-haired old lady saw Dongfang Qingcang and salute him. Everybody who saw him immediately bow to Dongfang Qingcang, except the white-haired lady.

Dongfang Qingcang asked her, why she did not bow to him. The old lady responded that she had a few questions for him. She would only bow if she got her answer. A young lady next to her reminded Grannie Tie not to offend the Lord, or else the whole tribe would be dead. However, Dongfang Qingcang told her to ask away. Grannie Tie asked his whereabouts for the last 30,000 years.

The Cangyan Sea had been a wasteland and many people suffered. They had been waiting for him to save them from agony, but he never returned. Now, when her husband and son were already dead on the battlefield, he has returned. She asked Dongfang Qingcang to bring back the demon soldier that was sealed in the Xuanwu realm.

Among them was her grandson. She hoped that he will return. Dongfang Qingcang said nothing and left. Xiao Lan Hua runs after him. She followed him to a cliff where they could see the aurora in the sky.

Xiao Lan Hua asked him why he didn’t explain anything back then. She knew that he didn’t mean to abandon them and that he had worked hard for the Moon Tribe. Dongfang Qingcang refused to explain anything. Xiao Lan Hua said that she envied Dongfang Qingcang because he had his father who take him to the hunting camp. As a grass, she never had parents.

Dongfang Qingcang remembered the time when he trained with his father. And when his father had a war meeting, he kicked the ball to him. The servant was afraid that the Old Moon Supreme would punish him, but he didn’t. Instead, he spend some time playing with the little Dongfang Qingcang.

However, Dongfang Qingcang said that it was better to be like her who was born in nature without any attachment. Nevertheless, Xiao Lan Hua never likes her situation. It was a lonely life and it was surely better with an attachment. The Moon Supreme Lord emphasized that the attachment to love was just a burden.

Xiao Lan Hua said that he showed some compassion to the old white-haired lady. Although Dongfang Qingcang denied her words, she seemed to have realized something. Dongfang Qingcang had shown one of the seven emotions that should not be existed in his heart. She took him to his Sea of Heart. They saw the withered Love tree of Dongfang Qingcang now had sprouted. She was happy to see that, but Dongfang Qingcang didn’t seem to feel the same.

That night Dongfang Qingcang had a dream. He remembered the time when he played the ball. But it was different from the one in his memory back then. This time his father was angry and told him not to touch the ball ever again. He gave him a sword and order him to practice.

Dongfang Qingcang realized that since he returned from the Memory Loss River, he always had a dream. It seemed the recovery of his seven emotions had sped up.

The next morning, Xiao Lan Hua ran to him with an orchid that she made from her primordial spirit. The orchid could help him to have a better sleep. Dongfang Qingcang snapped at her and told her to take that orchid away. He told her that he suffered in hell only to have his emotions removed. And now those feeling had returned, and it means that his suffering was for naught.

He should never had any emotions because he had to be ruthless to kill people and lead the Moon tribe. In his anger, Dongfang Qingcang told Xiao Lan Hua to never appear before him again. Xiao Lan Hua was sad to hear his words. She returned to her room dejectedly.

Meanwhile, Jieli had found the legendary Pavilion of Spiritual Treasure, the Silent Moon Palace’s treasure vaults. She was sooo happy to be there. Her eyes were green because of the treasure. Jieli immediately filled her bag with treasures that she could sell at a high price. Outside the pavilion, Jieli was stopped by patrolling guards. To get away from them, she called herself Xiao Lan Hua’s sworn sister. Although the guards recognize Xiao Lan Hua, they did not trust her easily.

In the meantime, Dongfang Qingcang was angry over a meal. Shang Que realized that something was wrong with his master. When he asked, Dongfang Qingcang answered that his seven feelings were recovering.

The guard who captured Jieli came and reported her wrongdoings. Jieli claimed that she got into the pavilion accidentally and took some things to amuse Xiao Lan Hua. Dongfang Qingcang wanted to know whether Xiao Lan Hua really liked those things. Jieli assured him that young women like those kinds of things. Dongfang Qingcang forgave her and told her that if Xiao Lan Hua needed more things, she could ask for them. Jieli thought she was already free.

However, Dongfang Qingcang noticed something on the bag. It was a wooden sculpture of Yannv, the First Moon Supreme Lord. He took it and recalled his memory.

The wooden figure was made by him and Auntie Wu. When the young Dongfang Qingcang was crying alone, Auntie Wu treat his injuries and comforted him. She explained that since Dongfang Qingcang had wielded an iron sword, it means he had grown up. And someday he’ll be an Iron Blood Warrior of the Moon Tribe.

Auntie Wu showed him a half finished wooden statue. She asked him if he recognize the wooden statue. It was Yannv, the Moon Tribe’s first Moon Supreme lord. Auntie Wu told Dongfang Qingcang the story of Yannv. As the first Moon Tribe Supreme, Yannv took the ancestors of the Moon Tribe people across the Memory Loss River and settled at the Cangyan Sea. She inspired Dongfang Qingcang to be like Yannv who bring the Moon Tribe into prosperous life.

Shang Que took Jieli for an interrogation. But the Moon Supreme Lord stopped him and told him to kill Jieli on spot. Shang Que was surprised and beg him, but Dongfang Qingcang was angry and throw him to the side. Jieli begged for mercy. However, Dongfang Qingcang never took back his words.

The guard was ready to kill her when the little orchid suddenly appeared and shielded her. Dongfang QIngcang immediately stopped the sword and his power scratched her hand. Xiao Lan Hua begged for mercy. She took all the blame and refused to step aside. She even wanted him to kill her.

At the crucial time, a guard came and reported about Xunfeng. Dongfang Qingcang left the hall and told the guards to burn the wooden sculpture. Jieli was touched by Xiao Lan Hua’s actions.

Xunfeng wanted to pay respect to their late father. Dongfang Qingcang told him that he did not deserve to pay respect because of what he did.

Dongfang Qingcang stated that he could forgive the assassination attempt but Xunfeng had colluded with the Haishi city Lord and refined evil spirits. What he did betray the people and caused so many death. It was an unforgivable mistake. Xunfeng said that he never knew where the evil spirit come from.

Dongfang Qingcang said that he was foolish to let other manipulates him. However, Xunfeng blamed him for that. If Dongfang Qingcang never killed their father he would not blinded by hatred. Xunfeng hated his brother because he thought that Dongfang Qingcang killed their father to be the Moon Supreme Lord. Dongfang Qingcang passed an order. Dongfang Xunfeng would be executed three days later, although Shang Que reminded him that three days later would be the death anniversary of the late Moon Supreme.

Jieli took care of Xiao Lan Hua’s wound. Xiao Lan Hua was confused because Dongfang Qingcang used to let Jieli steal many things from him. But this time he was angered because of the wooden sculpture. Jieli told her the story of the wooden sculpture and Dongfang Qingcang’s maid. It turned out that the late Moon Supreme Lord killed the maid later on. Jieli also conveyed Shang Que’s words to her. He said that Dongfang Qingcang was in a foul mood lately, and Xiao Lan Hua should avoid him at all costs.

Jieli also told her that Dongfang Qingcang wanted to forgive Xunfeng, but suddenly he change the order to execution. Xiao Lan Hua was surprised to hear that.

The little orchid came to Dongfang Qingcang because she had something to ask him. She questioned whether Xunfeng had colluded with the Haishi city Lord on purpose. Dongfang Qingcang explained that Xunfeng was tricked by the lord.

The little orchid braved herself to beg Dongfang Qingcang to spare Xunfeng’s life because Xunfeng was his family, but her begging was for naught. For the Moon Supreme Lord, Xunfeng was not his family. Xunfeng’s family was his father.

Xiao Lan Hua added another question that irked Dongfang Qingcang, whether there was a misunderstanding between his father and him. The demon lord growled that his father always dotes on and indulges Xunfeng but never smiled at him. Even when his father found out that he could master the hellfire. He only looked at him and asked, “Why you?”.

Dongfang Qingcang explained to the Orchid that his father removed his seven feelings because he was a tool for him. Tools needed to be sharp, and love can only be a burden. His father wanted Dongfang Qingcang to kill him only to remove Dongfang Qingcang’s seven feelings. But now, the Love tree that his father tried hard to destroy and cost him his life has resurrected. This is a ridiculous situation, he said emotionlessly. Thereafter Dongfang Qingcang left her alone.

Xiao Lan Hua still thought that something was not right about Dongfang Qingcang’s story. She thought that the Moon Supreme Lord’s questions were strange.

The little orchid keeps thinking about the problem. Shang Que and Jieli persuade her to forget about it. Jieli told her that in the Cangyan Sea, Dongfang Qingcang was famous as a terifying person. Meanwhile, Shang Que said that Dongfang Qingcang was a great ruler. When he took over the Moon Tribe from Xunfeng, he ended wars and disputes between the small tribes. Dongfang Qingcang was a strong enemy of Shuiyuntian, but for the people of the Moon Tribe, he was their hope of peace.

Xiao Lan Hua insisted that Dongfang Qingcang and Cangyan Sea were different from the rumors. She thought that something was hidden behind the terrifying stories of the past. However, Dongfang Qingcang did kill his father in public. It was an unshakeable fact. The little orchid’s brain worked really hard this time. She believed that something was hidden behind the story of Dongfang Qingcang killing his father. She asked Shang Que to tell her the story in detail.

Episode 17

Shang Que recounted the story, but he was quite unsure about it. He only knew that the incident was related to the feelings removal’s forbidden techniques. The technique was complicated and written in the Ancient Secret Book. The book was stored inside the late Moon Supreme Lord’s chamber and was burned into ashes.

That night, Xiao Lan Hua dragged Jieli and Shang Que to break in into the late Moon Supreme Lord’s chamber. Shang Que warned her that the chamber was a restricted area. Everybody who dared to trespass it would be tortured to death. The late Moon Supreme was Dongfang Qingcang’s biggest concern.

However, the little orchid was adamant. Everything Shang Que said has added a reason for her to delve into the matter. She was sure that the matter has been weighing Dongfang Qingcang’s mind for tens of thousands of years. She wanted to help him to relieve the concern so he could sleep well at night. The timid Xiao Lan Hua was in her brave moments right now. She even ordered Jieli and Shang Que to go back and not to worry about her. She would take all the blame.

However, after hearing her word, Shang Que decided to help Xiao Lan Hua and remove the burden of his master. It was Jieli who was left alone at the back. She cursed them for being crazy but eventually she run to chase them.

Dongfang Qingcang was in pain. His Love Tree and Sea of Heart were resurrected. The snow of his Sea of Heart has melted and showed the green grass underneath it. The tree was sprouting. Dongfang Qingcang tried to burn the tree with his hellfire, but he failed.

He recalled the memory of him learning to play the a zither. He carved the ice zither by himself and intended to give it to his father as a gift. His father broke the zither when he knew that Dongfang Qingcang had wasted his time to learn the zither. For a zither, Dongfang Qingcang must pay it with Auntie Wu’s life.

Dongfang Qingcang was angry to his father. He draw his sword and attacked his father. However, he stopped before he could hurt him. The Old Moon Supreme Lord asked him why he stopped but Dongfang Qingcang replied that he was his father.

Ever since, the Old Moon Supreme Lord trained Dongfang Qingcang to master the hellfire. He was black and blue, bruised all over. But his father didn’t stop at all. He was cruel and beat Dongfang Qingcang every time he failed.

Dongfang Qingcang went to Fuju cave. He enters a secret chamber inside the sculpture and performs the forbidden technique to remove his emotions. The process was painful he screamed and screamed.

Meanwhile, the trio was still rummaging inside the Old Moon Supreme Lord’s bedroom. They found a secret container hiding under the throne. The box that contained the burnt book was stored there. Xiao Lan Hua used her power to recover the book, and it worked since the book was made from wood.

The Old Supreme Lord made Dongfang Qingcang go through the painful process of seven-feelings removal. Dongfang Qingcang cried and begged his father to kill him because he could not take the pain anymore. The Old Moon Supreme Lord asked him whether he has forgotten the parental love and brotherhood. When he asked those questions, his eyes were teary.

Dongfang Qingcang told him that he remembered the vow to revive the Cangyan Sea and destroyed Shuiyuntian. The lord whispered to himself that there was only one step left.

Dongfang Qingcang who already had his feelings removed fought with his father. All the ministers were there to watch the fight. His father could not defeat the powerful Dongfang Qingcang. When he was about to launch his last attack, he whispered to Dongfang Qingcang to kill him. in one swift movement, Dongfang Qingcang stabs his sword at his father. The Old Moon Supreme Lord died and vanished into dust. The ministers welcomed their new Moon Supreme Lord.

After reading the ancient book, Xiao Lan Hua and the rest understand the pain of the process. Shang Que said that he understand the reason why his master was so irritated lately. Because his Love tree was resurrected, he remembered his painful childhood.

Xiao Lan Hua was not satisfied with the findings. She keeps on rummaging through the bedrom and found Dongfang Qingcang’s zither and cuju ball. The once-broken zither had been carefully repaired. Both things were carefully stored inside a cabinet. Xiao Lan Hua added that she heard from the palace people that the only one who liked to play football was Dongfang Qingcang. The little orchid concluded that the Old Moon Supreme Lord loved his son very much because he keep the zither and the cuju ball near his bed.

They also found a record scroll of the Old Moon Supreme. His attendant always wrote his words and actions. They read the scroll to find another clue.

It is written that Dongfang Qingcang was the only person who could wield the Hellfire Sword easily. He was the best among the Moon Tribe, only second to Yannv. The Old Moon Supreme Lord burn the Book of Living (the ancient secret book) because he didn’t want everybody to know that the only one who could wield the sword was only Dongfang Qingcang. Xiao Lan Hua recalled what Dongfang Qingcang used to tell her. For someone to master the hellfire, he must be gifted and have his feelings removed.

in the entire three realms, only Yannv and Dongfang Qingcang qualified to use the power. The little orchid is feeling sad for the father and son. She guessed that when the Old Moon Supreme Lord found out that Dongfang Qingcang was gifted, he must be really sad. His most beloved son must learn to master the hellfire. Dongfang Qingcang must through the painful process of feelings removal, and suffer every pain to revive the Cangyan Sea. That was why he looked at him and asked “Why you”.

However, Jieli said that it was only her guess. The only one who knew the truth was the Old Moon Supreme Lord himself. It sparked an idea in the little orchid’s mind.

Xiao Lan Hua planned to go to the bottom of the Memory Loss River, where the spirits of the dead fairies and the Moon tribes rest in the Realm of Return to Ruin (oh my… the name translation was killing me). She only needs to go there and find the Old Moon Supreme Lord. But she still had a problem. To meet a deceased one, she must find a Ranxi flower that could awaken a spirit. But the flower has been extinct for tens of thousands of years.

But, Jieli knew where exactly to find them. The Silent Moon Place has one Ranxi flower because Yunfeng used to look for it because he missed his father. The Ranxi flower was stored in the treasure Pavillion. But guess what… Jieli already stole the flower. 😆

Xiao Lan Hua tried to revive the dead flower. She did it nonstop from day to night and made it bloom. The blood dripped into the flower and revived the flower. Xiao Lan Hua brought the zither, cuju ball, and the Ranxi flower to the Memory Loss River. She borrowed Jieli’s Cloud Shadow mirror that could record everything.

Jieli still persuades her to cancel her plan. However, the little orchid won’t give up. She must do everything to stop Dongfang Qingcang from executing Yunfeng. If he did that, the world would judge him as a man who killed his family for power. She did not want Dongfang Qingcang to be misunderstood like that. However, she could not think of another way to help him. Therefore, she would not give up. Jieli gave up her persuasion, handed her the mirror, and told her to be careful.

Xiao Lan Hua jumped into the river. The undercurrent was sharp as a blade but she managed to swim to the bottom.

Meanwhile, Yunfeng’s execution had been prepared. Suddenly Dongfang Qingcang feels another wound on his hand. Noticing that something had happened to the little orchid, he went into the river and chased after Xiao Lan Hua.

After four hours of swimming, Xiao Lan Hua managed to get into the Realm of Return to Ruin. The Spirit of the deceased was seen everywhere as light balls. Xiao Lan Hua entered an empty hall. She set up the Cloud Shadow Mirror and lit up the Ranxi flower.

Dongfang Qingcang stopped her. He was angry and told her to return. Because the Orchid insisted, he yelled that it was not her place to ask. Dongfang Qingcang could sense his father’s presence. He told the orchid to leave the place because he didn’t want to know anything.

Xiao Lan Hua showed him the perfectly repaired zither. Dongfang Qingcang was surprised to see the zither. But then he gets angry because Xiao Lan Hua broke into the forbidden room. Xiao Lan Hua begged him to let her ask. She was already there and if he wanted to kill her, he could do it later. Dongfang Qingcang still didn’t want her to ask. Therefore, she stopped asking him and went to lit the Ranxi flower.

The flower did its job to awaken the spirit of the Old Moon Supreme Lord. He was a white-haired old man right now. He asked how long he had been there and did Dongfang Qingcang had destroyed the Shuiyuntian and revived the Cangyan Sea. However, Xiao Lan Hua did not answer his questions. She showed him the zither.

The old man recalled the time he fixed the zither carefully. He still remembers perfectly that it was Dongfang Qingcang’s gift for him, but he had to break it. He feels sad back then. The old man’s tears rolled down his face. Dongfang Qingcang who heard all of his words yelled in anger. He asked his father why if he was sad why did he have to break the zither. The old man gaped at his presence.
