Dear readers… this is the final recap of our favorite drama, Love Between Fairy and Devil episode 36. I was soooo excited to unravel the ending of the love story between Xiao Lan Hua, a small orchid fairy, and Dongfang Qingcang, the strongest and ruthless person in the three realms. Episode Recap

Episode 36

Xi Yun and Changheng walked down the aisle in their wedding ceremony. They looked perfect in their wedding attire. Meanwhile, Dongfang Qingcang walked through a barren land to Tai Sui’s cave and called him. Tai Sui appeared and infiltrated him. Once again, Dongfang Qingcang entered his mind to talk to the Evil God.

Tai Sui mocked Dongfang Qingcang because he already told the Moon Supreme Lord that he would lose his lover forever. Tai Sui promised that he would help Dongfang Qingcang to get what he wanted with one condition. Dongfang Qingcang must surrender his immortal body to the Evil God. Dongfang Qingcang agreed to the condition and gave him his primordial power.

Tai Sui was ecstatic and immediately engulfed the primordial spirit. He merged his primordial spirit with Dongfang Qingcang’s and too busy to notice that Dongfang Qingcang had another plan. The Moon Supreme Lord took their merged primordial spirit to his Sea of Heart. He planned to trap Tai Sui there, together with himself.

Tai Sui could guess that Dongfang Qingcang tried to destroy him. He mocked Dongfang Qingcang because his power was not enough to trap him there. However, Dongfang Qingcang did not plan to destroy the Evil God only by using his own power. He calmly responded to Tai Sui’s ridicule. He said that his power might not be enough, but the Goddess of Xishan had planted her power in him.

There were traces of her in every corner of his heart. And her power was enough to trap Tai Sui there. Tai Sui started to panic because Xi Yun’s power created a barrier around the Sea of Heart and sealed him there.

Dongfang Qingcang told Tai Sui that he only played a small trick and Tai Sui took the bait. His delusion of grandeur had made him fall into the fire pit. Tai Sui disguised himself as Dongfang Qingcang. He did not believe that Dongfang Qingcang did not have any desire in his heart and tried to probe him to find Dongfang Qingcang’s weakness.

Tai Sui asked Dongfang Qingcang why was he willing to sacrifice himself for Xi Yun and choose to die with him, even though they could live together forever and be the ruler of the three realms. As a supreme being in the three realms, why must he sacrifice everything and let the Shuiyuntian gloat for their death? Dongfang Qingcang calmly responded that everything he did was worth it. He was willing to sacrifice his life for Xi Yun.

Tai Sui tried a different approach. He asked Dongfang Qingcang whether he forgot about the wishes of his father and brother to revive the Moon Tribe. Dongfang Qingcang did not worry at all because the Moon Tribe already had their destination.

Tai Sui tried to probe him again. This time about Xi Yun. He did not believe that Dongfang Qingcang was willing to let Xi Yun and Changheng live together forever. He reminded him that Dongfang Qingcang used to have hatred and grudges in his heart, otherwise, Tai Sui would not be able to enter his mind. Dongfang Qingcang only answered that he had no regret.

Meanwile in Shuiyuntian. Everybody attended Xi Yun and Changheng’s wedding. The ceremony was led by Shang Sheng who praised Changheng and Xi Yun as a match made in heaven. Lord Yunzhong’s face was brimming with happiness even though the bride and groom’s expressions were joyless. Dan Yin and Jieli stood between the immortals. Their expressions were sad.

Tai Sui did not give up. He was sure that Dongfang Qingcang must have a weakness. He said that he was an ancient god who was immortal and indestructible. He could not be destroyed only by burning his primordial spirit. Dongfang Qingcang stated that he was not afraid of anything. Even when Tai Sui incited that Dongfang Qingcang’s existence would be completely erased by heaven’s rules.

Dongfang Qingcang calmly said that all of it was Tai Sui’s fears and not his. He has let go of everything and nothing in this world could shake his determination.

However, Tai Sui was THE Evil God. He finally found the key to Dongfang Qingcang’s weakness when he told him that Xi Yun would not remember him and everything that he had given him. However strong the love was, she would forget it eventually. Tai Sui’s words made him wavered. And at that was the exact moment that Tai Sui had been waiting for. Although Dongfang Qingcang tried his best to prevent Tai Sui from taking over his body, he failed in the end.

The sky turned dark and there was a light tower emerged from the ground. At the top of it, there was a white-haired man. His eyes were completely black and there were black marks all over his body. The man was Dongfang Qingcang. But it was Tai Sui that controlled the body. His evil power increased many folds because Dongfang Qingcang was the strongest person in three realms.

At Shuiyuntian, the ceremony was almost complete when the sky suddenly turned dark. Xi Yun sensed that Tai Sui had regained an immortal body and now he was at the Spirit-Shattering Abbys. Everybody in Shuiyuntian, Cangyan Sea, and even the Yunmeng lake saw the abnormality in the sky. The day has turned into night.

Lord Yunzhong gathered the Shuiyuntian army. He could not keep his calm and arrogant demeanor anymore. Restlesness and anxiety were displayed clearly on his face.

Xi Yun saw the white-haired Dongfang Qingcang and she was shocked. She almost run to him but Changheng stopped her. He reminded her that the man was no longer Dongfang Qingcang but the Evil God Tai Sui. Xi Yun could not believe that Dongfang Qingcang could be controlled by Tai Sui because he had the strongest mind.

Meanwhile, The Heavenly Emperor, Lord Yunzhong finally realized his mistake. He had overlooked Chidi Nüzi’s words and now everything was proven to be true. He said back then when the ancient Gods and Goddess Xi Qi joined forces to seal Tai Sui, all the wickedness and evil spirits were also suppressed under the holy land of Xishan. If Tai Sui released them from their seal, then all the people in the three realms would be doomed and the world would turn into a wilderness.

Lord Yunzhong ordered the immortals to attack the white-haired Dongfang Qingcang. To shield himself from the attack, the white-haired Dongfang Qingcang created a powerful dome that functioned as a shield. Regardless how much power the Shuiyuntian fairy use, they could not break it.

Xi Yun saw everybody tried their best to stop Tai Sui. She stepped up from the line and walked straight into the dome. Changheng tried to stop her but failed. Inside the dome, everything was black. There was only light emanated from the white-haired Dongfang Qingcang.

The massive evil spirits swirled around him created a strong wind that could move rocks inside the dome. Xi Yun used her power as a shield and walked against the strong wind. She was almost blown by the wind several times. But Xi Yun was determined to stop Tai Sui and saved Dongfang Qingcang.

Everybody was worried about Xiao Lan Hua’s safety. Tai Sui had occupied Dongfang Qingcang’s immortal body. He was the strongest person in three realms. While Xi Yun was just reborn and hadn’t gotten the ultimate power of the Goddess. It was impossible for her to defeat Tai Sui. However, there was no turning back for all of them. All they could do was buy some time for Xi Yun. The white-haired Dongfang Qingcang exerted more power and released a wave of force that knocked many people out.

To suppress Tai Sui, everyone in Shuiyuntian joined the war. Not only the soldiers but also the fairies. And one of them was Jieli. She tried hard to use her power, just like others. However, Jieli has just recovered from the poison and it did not take long before she almost fainted because she was running out of power.

When her body swayed, a pair of hands supported her. She opened her eyes it was Shang Que, the black dragon. She did not say anything to him but staggered back to stand and launch another attack. Shang Que stood beside her without a word.

Shang Que was not the only Moon Tribe people who came. Xunfeng and the Kings of South and North Yuoxian County were also there. They led the demon soldiers from the Cangyan Sea to join the war. Lord Yunzhong saw them come, but he did not say a word, and nor did Changheng. Shang Que relayed a message that the Moon Tribe people had come under the order of the Moon Supreme Lord, Dongfang Qingcang, to help Shuiyuntian destroy the Evil God Tai Sui.

The King of North Yuoxian Country asked Xunfeng whether they were really going to fight against their Lord and help Shuiyuntian. Xunfeng answered that what they did was not for the sake of anybody, but for the three realms. He would never repeat the same mistake he did in the past. When Xunfeng started to launch his force, the others followed suit. When the Moon Tribe joined the war, their power was doubled and they were able to shake the power of the white-haired Dongfang Qingcang.

Ahhhh… Xunfeng was soooo handsome in this scene…😍

Inside the dome, Xi Yun was able to get close to the white-haired Dongfang Qingcang who was surrounded by black masses of evil spirits. His black eyes gleamed under the light. Xi Yun stood up and fly to him. The white-haired Dongfang Qingcang seemed unaware that she came. He did not show any emotion and just stood there lifeless.

Xi Yun move her body closer to the man, put her hand on his neck, and kissed him. And time seemed to turn back again to the first time they met at Haotian Tower. At that time, Xiao Lan Hua was pulled by an unknown power to him. Their first kiss released her goddess power and set him free.

This time, Xi Yun tried to do the same to wake Dongfang Qingcang up. And it worked. His consciousness that was left in the Sea of Heart woke up. At the same time, a Xilan seal appeared on the white-haired Dongfang Qingcang’s forehead. The previous seal had vanished from Dongfang Qingcang’s forehead when Xiao Lan Hua was dead in the Xuanxu realm.

When the Xilan seal appeared, a red fire burst out and surrounded them. Everybody was shocked. Changheng thought that Xiao Lan Hua was able to activate the ultimate power inside her while Xunfeng thought that it was Dongfang Qingcang’s hellfire. However, Lord Yunzhong thought otherwise. He said that the fire was not Dongfang Qingcang’s hellfire, it was a Glazed Fire.

A Glazed Fire was a fire of compassion that has been lost since ancient times. Only people who had undergone 7 emotions and 8 suffering trials but still be able to keep their heart intact could master it. It meant that only people with great love and compassion could control the Glazed Fire. Lord Yunzhong could not believe that a person from the Moon Tribe could master the Glazed Fire.

Xi Yun’s kiss took her to Dongfang Qingcang’s Sea of Heart. She saw him floating in the air surrounded by evil spirits. When she tried to approach him, she was stopped by an invisible wall. Dongfang Qingcang took over his consciousness. He called her Xiao Lan Hua and begged her to kill him because he was already merged with the Evil God Tai Sui. If she killed him, she would be able to destroy Tai Sui.

Xi Yun looked at him with teary eyes clearly rejecting his plead. Dongfang Qingcang urged her because he could not hold it much longer. Xi Yun cried that she could not do it.

Tai Sui laughed, he said that he knew that Xi Yun could not do it because she loved him more than her life. Xi Yun begged Tai Sui to release Dongfang Qingcang because his enemy was her and not him. Dongfang Qingcang took over his consciousness again and told her to look at him. His tears rolled down from his eyes.

He asked her again to kill him because if she did not kill him, Tai Sui would wreak havoc in the three realms. By then, everything she had done would go in vain. Xi Yun cried that it was her destiny to save the world and it was not his. Dongfang Qingcang stared at her intently and said that it was his mission to save her and begged her for the last time to kill him. Xi Yun’s tears flowed out incessantly when she released her power into Dongfang Qingcang to destroy Tai Sui.

The collision between Xi Yun’s power and the evil spirits cause a blast inside the Sea of Heart and she returned to the dome. The white-haired Dongfang Qingcand slowly turned into the real Dongfang Qingcang since Tai Sui was already destroyed. He responded to the kiss and the Glazed Fire took them to the outer space. When Xi Yun opened her eyes, Dongfang Qingcang changed into his real self.

Slowly he drifted apart from her. Xi Yun frantically called his name and tried to hold on to him. But the distance between them grew further until Dongfang Qingcang completely vanished into dust. The only thing left of him was the Bone Orchid. It flew straight into Xi Yun’s hand. She took it and hold it close to her heart.

The world returned to its normal state. The sun rise and the people continued their activity.

Xunfeng came to see Xi Yun in the holy land of Xishan. He asked whether his brother would return. Xi Yun only gave a vague answer. She said that Dongfang Qingcang replaced her to shoulder the hardships. His life could not be brought back. Xi Yun stared at the Bone Orchid on her hand and asked Xunfeng whether he believe in miracles and told him that everything changes in this world, except for love.

Five hundred years later. Xi Yun lived in the Arbiter Hall in Shuiyuntian.

She thought in her heart that the hatred and grudges between the Shuiyuntian and The Moon Tribe had caused wars for tens of thousands of years. But there was a magical and powerful force in the three realms that could change it. The force was love.

Love also changed people into a better version of themselves. Changheng, the most cautious and restrained person was set free by love and found his real desires. Changheng now roamed around the world as an idle immortal under the name Xiao Run.

One day, when he was in Yunmeng Lake to tell stories about Evil God Tai Sui to the children on the street, a woman’s voice called him. It was Dan Yin. She was there to visit him. Dan Yin told him that she would join the military and aimed to be the God of War of Shuiyuntian to protect the people of the three realms.

Dan Yin said that her desire for Changheng was in the past. Now she considered Changheng as her confidant because a friendship could go beyond status, race, or gender. Changheng smiled when he heard her words and he gave her his support and well wishes for Dan Yin to be the God of War. Love has changed Dan Yin from a stubborn and narrow-minded person into a strong, insightful, and open-minded person.

Love changed Xunfeng, the most narrow-minded and jealous person, into a mature person who understood how to be lenient and responsible. Now he replaced his brother as the leader of the Cangyan Sea. He holds the position for 500 years with Shang Que as his confidant. Xunfeng wondered when would his brother returned. However, if someday he never return, he was ready to protect Cangyan Sea so the people of the Moon Tribe could live a peaceful and prosperous life.

Love changed Jieli from the most deceitful person into a sincere and reliable woman. Now she lived in the Cangyan Sea and take care of orphaned children. She lived a blissful life with Shang Que, the black dragon.

Love also changed Rong Hao, who made mistakes and went astray. It held him before he fall into the abyss and made him come to his senses.

And the last person who had changed by love was Dongfang Qingcang. Xi Yun recalled her life as Xiao Lan Hua when Dongfang Qingcang had done so many things for her. Love has the power to change a heartless person into a person who understands love and compassion. A person who is willing to give up everything, including his life, for the one he loves.

Xi Yun still kept the Bone Orchid with her and nourished it with her Xishan power every day. And after 500 years, her hope has finally come true. The Bone Orchid brought Dongfang Qingcang back to her.

The scene ended with Dongfang Qingcang who suddenly appeared in the garden. He smiled at the teary Xi Yun and kissed her.

Extras Episode Recap

Extra Episode 1

Dongfang Qingcang sat on his chair with a glass of wine and a book. He said that recently people had inquired about his marriage life with Xiao Lan Hua. And since she did not mind at all, he would say something about it.

Dongfang Qingcang and Xiao Lan Hua have been married for 300 years. Some of the years were spent in Shuiyuntian where he would help her do chores. Some years were spent in the Cangyan Sea where they often talk at the pavilion or went to the hunting tribe and spend the night there. And some of the years were spent in Yunmeng Lake.

They would secretly sneak to Lucheng City, where they would do many mortal things such as take a walk at the flower festival. Dongfang Qingcang would put a flower on Xiao Lan Hua’s hair and after that, they would fly the Kongming lantern. Between the three realms, their favorite place was Lucheng city, where nobody recognize them. And they could act like an ordinary couple who loved each other.

Dongfang Qingcang thought that with Xiao Lan Hua by his side, he felt happy. Even if there were many obstacles in the future, as long as they had each other, they would fear nothing.

And now, Dongfang Qingcang was busy thinking about how to give Xiao Lan Hua’s surprise on their wedding anniversary. Many things have changed for the Moon Supreme Lord. Now he always cooked flower soup for her and took her to bask in the sunlight. Especially at that moment, Xiao Lan Hua has not gotten enough sunlight and became lazy. Dongfang Qingcang must poke her cheek to wake her up, but she always refused to wake up.

The scene ended with Dongfang Qingcang closing the book and the monologue ended.

Extra Episode 2

This was a flashback episode when Xiao Lan Hua wrote a letter to Dongfang Qingcang.

It started when Xuanwu God talked to Xiao Lan Hua that all living beings in this world have thousands of different fates in their life. However, Xiao Lan Hua only has one fate. And only one person could change her fate: Dongfang Qingcang.

Back then, since Si Ming left to wander around the world, Xiao Lan Hua always guarded the Arbiter Hall alone. She never felt lonely until Dongfang Qingcang suddenly appeared. Although he was not a friendly person, Dongfang Qingcang always took her to bask in the sun and made her porridge or flower soup. He never said anything nice, but he was always there when she cried. Well… Mostly he would scold her to stop crying and put on an annoyed expression every time she cried 😅.

But when she needed help the most, he was there. Just like when Xiao Lan Hua was tortured by the Heavenly Emperor, Lord Yunzhong. He insisted to bring her, even though he have to fight Lord Changheng. He left with a question for Changheng, “Do you want to save her or Shuiyuntian?”

Xiao Lan Hua also remembered the time when she met Changheng in the forest. But then she remembered what happened at the examination. Back then, Changheng discarded her name and said that she was unworthy to enter his Fountain Palace. Although Changheng did it to protect her, Xiao Lan Hua was so sad because of it.

The little orchid also wrote about Rong Hua and Chidi Nüzi. When they were in Lucheng City, Xie Wanqing asked her, “How many people in the world could meet their true love? Countless people never meet the right person in their life. And if they do, they should not give up.”

And the last one, she wrote about her relationship with Dongfang Qingcang. The Moon Supreme Lord told her that he was in love with her and promised a grand wedding for her.

But then they had to go through tribulation for their love. Xiao Lan Hua and Dongfang Qincang shared a life-and-death situation when the Moon Tribe people demanded to have her tortured inside the Fuju cave.

However, Dongfang Qingcang and Xiao Lan Hua had promised to live and die together; to share honor and disgrace. Dongfang Qingcang also pledged that if he could not bear everything for her, then he would not let her suffer alone. They passed the hardships, and the Moon Tribe people acknowledged her as their Moon Queen.

Dongfang Qingcang told her that he had seen her wearing the clothes of the fairies. He has seen her wearing the clothes of the Moon Tribe women. He also has seen her wearing the clothes of the mortal. But for him, she was the prettiest when she wore the wedding dress.

Xiao Lan Hua wrote that everything in this world changed rapidly, except love. When Rong Hao realized that his master loved him, he was in the happiest moment in his life before he stabbed Chidi Nüzi and then killed himself. He did that for love.

Xiao Lan Hua was almost married when she met Xuanwu who told her about her fate. She was frustrated because she had to choose between people and love. And Dongfang Qingcang almost found the love of his life when he had to sacrifice the one he loved for the sake of the people, without any other choice.

In the end, they choose to love. Xiao Lan Hua sacrificed herself to save Dongfang Qingcang. Rong Hao was willing to turn the world upside down for his master.

Chidi Nüzi chose to save the young Rong Hao even though the price was her life. Changheng chose to go against the will of heaven for Xiao Lan Hua. And Dongfang Qingcang would go against heaven to change Xiao Lan Hua’s fate.

Everybody was willing to sacrifice themselves for the one they love because they wished to stay with them.

It was a long and painful journey for Xiao Lan Hua and Dongfang Qingcang. But in the end, their love would last forever.
