Hola readers… There were only 2 posts left from the recap episode of She and Her Perfect Husband drama. My heart broke from the divorce of Qin Shi and Yang Hua. They said that when life gave you lemons, you should make lemonade out of it. Would Qin Shi be able to do that? Let’s find it out in these episodes 37 and 38!

Episode Recap

Episode 37

Jin Cheng and Tang Yi Hui thanked Tao Jun Hui for sealing a labor dispute case between Tianhang Hotel and Yao Yao. Yin Zhi Qiang wanted Tao Jun Hui to handle it. However, Tao Jun Hui refused and gave the case to Haitao. Tang Yi Hui found it odd but Jin Cheng did not mind. He realized that Yin Zhi Qiang’s labor dispute was a tool to get rid of Yao Yao.

To use their superb lawyers from Cooperate Division for a small case was overkill. Jin Cheng said that if they were afraid Haitao could not handle it, they should find a second lawyer for the case.

Qin Shi was driving when Tang Yi Hui called her. She intended to give the case to her. She reminded Tang Yi Hui that her position was just a legal assistant and according to their rule, she could not take any case by herself. Tang Yi Hui scolded her. Qin Shi made Wu Fei leave the company out of anger and disrupt the Family Division.

Tang Yi Hui forced her to take it. Or else, she could resign from Cheng & Hui. And if she resigned, she would not be able to take any job from other prestigious law firms and only could do as a community legal advisor. Qin Shi gave up and took the case. Tang Yi Hui wanted her to win the case, and in return, she would return to her position on the 11th floor.

Meanwhile, at Yushang Bank, Cai Liang was shocked when he heard that Hu Ping wanted Yang Hua to be his chief financial consultant. He enthusiastically said to Yang Hua that he can do anything to help Yang Hua when he worked at Hu Ping’s company. He was pretty confident that he was the only person who could understand Yang Hua. Cai Liang did not care about the salary, but Yang Hua could make it double or triple his current salary. With spirited words, Cai Liang persuaded Yang Hua to take the offer by mentioning his wife and future children.

Yang Hua cut his words and said he was divorced. Cai Liang could not believe his ears but when he saw the bleak expression on Yang Hua’s face, he knew that it was real. He asked the reason why and Yang Hua answered that Qin Shi was not mentally prepared and he wanted to give her some time. Cai Liang could not understand their train of thought.

Qin Shi returned to an empty house. She went to Yang Hua’s room and found a stack of books and a note with a string of numbers written on it. The books were self-help books about how to live alone after a breakup. Qin Shi threw away the books. But after a second thought, she took them back.

Qin Shi’s mind was on the numbers and she forgot that she was in the middle of a meeting with Li Dai and Yao Yao. Li Dai was genuinely angry with her. Qin Shi mentioned how Tianhang Hotel had invested a lot of money in Yao Yao and then she breached a 10 years contract. She told her that Yin Zhi Qiang agreed to let go of Yao Yao if she paid two million Yuan (around 290,000 USD) as compensation.

Li Dai was shocked, her client only made 200.000 Yuan per year. Qin Shi came up with a clear-cut solution. If Yao Yao was willing to pay the deal-breaker amount of 2 million Yuan, she could walk away and work in another place. But she also offered another solution. Yin Zhi Qiang said that Yao Yao could pay only 250.000 Yuan as long as she agrees not to take up a similar position for the next ten years. In another word, Yin Zhi Qiang banned her from the hospitality industry for a decade.

Li Dai went to see Yang Hua and cursed Qin Shi as a lunatic because she did not abide by their professional ethics which was equality and justice. According to Li Dai, Tianhang used its influence and affluence to exploit their work and that was an injustice. She said that Qin Shi told her to take the case. But according to her knowledge, Qin Shi would pity and help Yao Yao. But now she came up as Tianhang’s representation and offered outrageous terms. Li Dai told Yang Hua she did not want to see Qin Shi becoming a lawyer without a moral compass.

Yang Hua could guess that Li Dai wanted him to persuade Qin Shi. Yet, Yang Hua said that Li Dai had put him on a pedestal. Li Dai depicted the situation for Yang Hua. Yao Yao was his ex-girlfriend and Qing Shi was his wife. Although their marriage was fake, Qin Shi’s feeling for him was real. Yang Hua reacted to her sentence. Meanwhile, Li Dai kept on blabbering about the changes in Qin Shi. She guessed that Qin Shi might have found out about Yao Yao’s relationship with Yang Hua.

Yang Hua asked what did she mean by her words. Li Dai explained that when a woman was jealous, hormones would take over and affect her judgment. However, Yang Hua did not ask about THAT part. He wanted to know what Li Dai meant when she said that Qin Shi’s feelings for him was real. Li Dai lifted her brows and said that Qin Shi had fallen in love with him. She would never admit it, but Li Dai could see how happy Qin Shi was.

Yang Hua was stunned and then a smile bloomed on his face. Li Dai reminded Yang Hua that if she lost the case, Qin Shi would not win either. Instead, she would get a stain in her career and Yao Yao would get hurt. Li Dai was sure that Yang Hua did not want any of them to get hurt. Yang Hua only said that he would think about it.

Yao Yao picks up her son from the airport. He was a 4-year-old boy named Sunny. He brushed off Yao Yao’s hand when she tried to hold his hand. Sunny explained to her confused mama that he was already a 4-year-old boy. Only a little kid would hold hands with his mother. Yao Yao responded that she was a woman. And a woman would always be a kid who needs to hold her hand. The boy sighed and finally said okay and when Yao Yao gave him her hand, he took it. 😅

Tao Jun Hui went to see Tang Yi Hui to protest about Qin Shi handling Yao Yao’s case. He used Qin Shi’s position as the reason why she should not do it. Yet, Tang Yi Hui refused to take back her order. She said Qin Shi’s position was only a formality. Tianhang Hotel would not know about it if none of them tell them about it. She also mentioned his marriage with Wu Fei. With sweet words, Tang Yi Hui reminded him that if something was missed they would never come again. Tang Yi Hui stared at him meaningfully and Tao Jun Hui understood her intention. He smiled and left.

Tao Jun Hui tried to reach Qin Shi by phone, but she always rejected them. He went to her workplace to find her, but Qin Shi already left to collect evidence at the hotel. Tao Jun Hui sent Qin Shi a message asking her why she did not answer the call. But before he sent the message, he deleted it. He thought for a while and sent another message. This time, he asked her to call him when she had time because he needed to talk with her.

Li Dai went to see Yang Hua at the bookstore. Li Dai was surprised when Yang Hua said that he had not reached Qin Shi about the case. He had his idea and he wanted Li Dai to listen to it. Yang Hua was able to grasp the core of the case that both Li Dai and Qin Shi overlooked. The case was not a labor dispute.

Li Dai told Yao Yao that the case was a personal revenge disguised as a labor dispute. The main problem lies with Yin Zhi Qiang. She did not know why Yao Yao was on bad terms with him and she asked whether Yao Yao could persuade Yin Zhi Qiang. Yao Yao seemed dejected when she heard Li Dai’s words.

She then explained that Yin Zhi Qiang was like a mentor figure for her who gave her the job. He encouraged her and eventually sent her for training abroad. Yao Yao admitted that without his help, she would not become what she was right now. Yao Yao was oblivious that Yang Hua heard everything she said through Li Dai’s phone.

Meanwhile, Qin Shi who was in the Tianhang Hotel went to see Yin Zhi Qiang. She wanted to know why there was a huge rift between Yao Yao and Yin Zhi Qiang since he was the one who helped Yao Yao during her entire career at Tianhang Hotel.

Qin Shi called Yao Yao and Li Dai told her to answer the call. She put Qin Shi on the speaker. Therefore, Yang Hua could listen to their conversation. Qin Shi asked why her career at Tianhang Hotel rose so quickly from a waiter to become a senior manager. but then it took her three years to be assigned to her position as Head of Client Service. Qin Shi was able to grasp that their case was a personal dispute.

Yao Yao revealed that Yin Zhi Qiang always brought a female employee to a business dinner. She thought that it was part of the job scope, but then when he was drunk, Yin Zhi Qiang would harass the female employee. Yao Yao always refused to attend dinners with him and Yin Zhi Qiang started to hate her for that. He wanted her to leave the hotel, but Yao Yao already signed a 10 years contract. Therefore, he could not do anything to her. Qin Shi was worried because the case has delved into the current situation.

Li Dai talked to Yang Hua and asked for his advice. Before he could give her the answer, a boy bumped into him. His mother blamed Yang Hua and asked for a medical fee. Sunny came and helped Yang Hua. He was calm and composed, unlike the other kid. He even suggested they check on the surveillance camera’s footage nearby. His thought was the same of Yang Hua who searched for a surveillance camera earlier. All of them went to the bookstore to check on the footage.

When Sunny was in the security room, Yao Yao called him. She was shocked when she heard her son was there. She immediately went there and Li Dai tagged along with her. When Yao Yao went to him, she met Yang Hua. Both of them stared at each other awkwardly while Li Dai watched them with interest.

Qin Shi was rebuked by Tang Yi Hui because she visited Tianghang Hotel. Qin Shi explained that Yin Zhi Qiang was a scumbag who wanted to destroy a talented worker. Tang Yi Hui reminded her that this was her last chance and she’d better tuck her agenda away. She said that she needed a lawyer, not a saint.

Ren Mei Mei had a surprise for Qin Wen Yu. She showed him a pregnancy test pack and told him she was pregnant. Qin Wen Yu could not believe it and he started to cry because he did not know how to be a father. Ren Mei Mei also cried and she said she did not know how to be a mother.

Li Dai, Yang Hua, Yao Yao, and Sunny were having a meal together. Li Dai was astonished to find that Yang Hua and Sunny’s food preferences (both of them was vegetarian) and attitudes were similar. Wild ideas started spinning inside her brain.

Qin Wen Yu learned how to check a business ledger. He did it because Ren Mei Mei would leave the business for a while because of the pregnancy.

Qin Shi went to the rooftop for a quiet moment. She was oblivious that there was already Tao Jun Hui who also needed the same thing. He saw Qin Shi and went to approach her. He asked her why she did not answer his messages.

Tao Jun Hui and Yang Hua had different opinions about whether people could change or not. Tao Jun Hui said that people changed, but the latter said otherwise. Li Dai explained that she asked Yang Hua to persuade Qin Shi about their case. Yang Hua told Yao Yao that she had two solutions to deal with Yin Zhi Qiang. The first one was to satisfy his request and the second one was to kick him out. Of course, Yang Hua would suggest Yao Yao choose the latter. According to Yang Hua, people’s nature would not change.

Yin Zhi Qiang was a misogynist and chauvinist who abused his power. Since no one kept him in check, Yin Zhi Qiang would not stop doing his bad deeds. All they had to do was to collect the evidence. Unbeknownst to them, Yao Yao had already gathered the evidence. She even had a name list of female employees who would give Yin Zhi Qiang their consent and who was forced to please him.

However, they might not want to come forth. Yao Yao had spent years fighting Yin Zhi Qiang. Her comrades fell one by one. She was the only one left and she was tired of the fight.

Tao Jun Hui thought Qin Shi was no longer suitable to stay at Cheng & Hui. But she did not want to leave because she has not achieved her goal yet. Tao Jun Hui asked her to hand over the Tianhang case to him so she did not have to follow the case any more. Qin Shi smiled and asked where did his confidence come from. Tao Jun Hui only did not want Qin Shi to give up her principal.

Episode 38

Tao Jun Hui apologized to Qin Shi about what happened last time. He respected her decision and did not want them to be strangers. He begged her to not refuse his help with her work. Qin Shi did not say anything and when he invited her to eat hot malatang soup, she refused it immediately.

Meanwhile, Yang Hua still had a conversation with Yao Yao. All this time, Yao Yao thought that Yang Hua was married to Qiu Jian Xiang’s daughter. Yao Yao apologized for her curse on his marriage and career back then. Yang Hua did not say anything but there was a tinge of sadness on his face.

Yao Yao admitted that their choice to break up was the right choice. She was too stubborn and competitive, but in reality, she felt inferior and insecure. Not far from the table, Li Dai was taking Sunny to choose some cake. She stared at his little face, silently comparing it to Yang Hua’s.

Li Dai wanted to ask about Sunny to Yang Hua but failed. Her gossipy nature could not hold it and she immediately called Qin Shi. Li Dai enthusiastically told her what happened that day and also mentioned Sunny’s similarity to Yang Hua. Li Dai warned Qin Shi to be more vigilant and kept her eyes on Yang Hua. If she let him go, Li Dai believed that they would be a family soon. After the conversation with Li Dai, Ren Mei Mei called and screamed that Qin Wen Yu was missing.

Qin Shi went to Ren Mei Mei’s apartment and was shocked to see Yang Hua at the door. It was Ren Mei Mei who called him and asked for him to come. Qin Wen Yu had been missing since noon. He went to collect money and brought a cheque worth millions. Ren Mei Mei was worried something might happen to her husband because he went to the last place alone.

Qin Shi and Yang Hua went to the club, the last place where Qin Wen Yu was seen. When they arrived at the club, Qin Shi prepared to bring a baseball club as a weapon. Yang Hua was shocked and immediately took the club from her. He told Qin Shi to wait for him in the car and let him find her brother. Yang Hua entered the club but it was too crowded to find Qin Wen Yu. He had an idea to turn off the light so the guest would leave the club. When everybody was out, Qin Shi walked to Hu Peng, Qin Wen Yu’s friend, who owned the club.

A moment later, a taxi stopped at a hotel lobby. Qin Shi had found Qin Wen Yu at a hotel. She wanted to take him home, but Ren Mei Mei told her not to step inside the room before she arrived. Ren Mei Mei wanted to see whether Qin Wen Yu was with a woman.

Ren Mei Mei entered the hotel, her face was taut and her gait was slow as though she forced herself to walk. She entered the room alone. Inside the hotel room, Ren Mei Mei stopped. She could not bear to walk further after she saw a pair of Qin Wen Yu’s feet under the blanket.

The three of them left the hotel. Yang Hua drove the car while Qin Shi accompanied Ren Mei Mei at the back. It was said that women were weak until they become mothers. But how many people knew that the moment a woman became a mother, that was also her vulnerable moment? Yet, as a mother, they had to be the strongest fortress in the world with the softest heart in the world.

At the same time, Sunny told her mother that he hoped she could still be a soldier. He reminded his mother that she used to say winning and defeat were temporary. And if she was defeated, she could learn from it and become stronger next time.

Yang Hua sat in Qin Shi’s apartment. His face was heavy as if many things were weighing his mind and heart. Qin Shi left her room after she put Ren Mei Mei to sleep. Yang Hua said that now he understood the reason why Qin Shi was afraid to get married. He said Ren Mei Mei’s calmness was more terrifying than her outburst. Yang Hua concluded a marriage with a problem would wear someone out.

Yang Hua continued that he was glad that he took the right choice so he would not have to face such a situation. Qin Shi did not say anything but nodded. She said she was glad as well that they were divorced because they would face a bigger problem than Qin Wen Yu and Ren Mei Mei. After some time of awkward silence, Yang Hua left.

Qin Shi quietly cried. That night, Qin Shi cleaned her house thoroughly. She washed dishes, cleaned the bathroom, and scrubbed the floor to release the frustration. In her heart, Qin Shi asked herself whether she missed Yang Hua or was she just being silly.

The next day, Qin Shi went to Yao Yao’s apartment. Qin Shi was there to tell her that if she wanted to get out of the predicament, she had to work with her because Qin Shi have a win-win solution. However, the solution was conditional and the term was Yao Yao should stay away from Yang Hua. Yao Yao was stunned when she heard the terms.

But it was Qin Shi’s imagination…😅

Qin Shi was engrossed in her daydream that Yao Yao had to knock on the table to wake her up. Qin Shi asked Yao Yao why she misled Yang Hua to think that her son, Sunny, was Yang Hua’s son. Yao Yao sighed and asked her back whether she ever fought before.

Yao Yao mocked Qin Shi for being a kind good student who only loves to read. She said it was a good thing to read, but it made her too reasonable. Yao Yao had to stop using childish lines such as shameless since she was 14 years old. And she asked how Qin Shi knew that she misled Yang Hua. This time Qin Shi was the stunned one.

Why did I feel like this scene was similar to Qin Shi angering Wu Fei earlier? But this time, Qin Shi was Wu Fei, and Yao Yao was Qin Shi.😅

Yao Yao told Qin Shi that Yang Hua was a person who would care a lot for someone he liked. Qin Shi said that if Yao Yao was willing to work with her, she would fight for it. Yao Yao did not believe her. In her eyes, Qin Shi was always on Yin Zhi Qiang’s side. But Qin Shi retorted by saying she was Tianhang’s representative and not Yin Zhi Qiang’s. She would do her utmost to protect Tianhang Hotel’s rights so she asked Yao Yao to withdraw the lawsuit.

A moment later Qin Shi shook hands with Yao Yao, wishing their cooperation would run smoothly. But before she left, Qin Shi still had a message for Yao Yao. Qin Shi said she did not care about Yao Yao’s relationship with Yang Hua previously. She did not care whether Sunny was his son or not as well. The point was, Yang Hua was hers. If Yao Yao dared to snatch him, Qin Shi would not let her go. Qin Shi left afterward leaving Yao Yao who stood with a wide grin on her face.

Yao Yao closed the door and said to somebody that he should come out since Qin Shi had left. It turned out Yang Hua was in Yao Yao’s apartment the entire time. He hid in a room when Qin Shi arrived. Yao Yao was confused about the two of them. She asked Yang Hua whether he never told his wife before he did something and scolded him for showing off his affection to Qin Shi.

Yao Yao said Yang Hua was never that considerate to others before. She believed that Qin Shi was the one who changed Yang Hua to such an extent. Yao Yao expressed her worries about their prior conversation. She feared Cheng & Hui would make things difficult for Qin Shi. Yang Hua said it was his part to worry about the matter. He reassured Yao Yao that she could trust Qin Shi because she was a good lawyer.

Yao Yao intended to return the money that Yang Hua gave her. But Yang Hua refused and only told her to not disclose everything he said to Qin Shi. Yao Yao smiled and said that he must really like her very much. Yang Hua smiled and left without saying anything.

Qin Wen Yu stealthily entered his apartment. After he took a shower, he went to the bedroom to surprise Ren Mei Mei. But the bedroom was empty. Qin Wen Yu opened the closet to change. He then realized something was not right. There was no Ren Mei Mei’s clothes in it. A bad feeling surged and he checked other rooms but Ren Mei Mei’s things were all gone. Qin Wen Yu’s heart lurched when he saw a divorce file on his desk. He could not bear to check whether Ren Mei Mei had signed it or not.

Qin Wen Yu ran to the living room and charged his phone because it ran out of battery. He saw many missed calls from Qin Shi and Ren Mei Mei. There was also a message from Hu Peng who threatened to send a picture of him and a woman in bed to Ren Mei Mei if Qin Wen Yu did not lower the rent.

Qin Wen Yu knew that he was doomed. He tried to call and message Ren Mei Mei on We Chat but he was blocked. Qin Wen Yu called Qin Shi and asked where did she hide Ren Mei Mei. He threatened that if something happened to the pregnant Ren Mei Mei, he would not spare Qin Shi.

Qin Shi went to Qin Wen Yu’s apartment. Her brother started to wail and begged Qin Shi to believe him that he was innocent and somebody had set him up. Qin Shi told him that she believed him, but she did not know where Ren Mei Mei was. She gave her phone to Qin Wen Yu so he could listen to Ren Mei Mei’s messages.

Last night, Ren Mei Mei returned to her apartment. She refused Qin Shi’s goodwill to accompany her. Late at night, Ren Mei Mei started to pack her things. In her message, Ren Mei Mei told Qin Shi not to worry about her. She understood that Qin wen Yu might be drunk and was set up by someone. But Ren Mei Mei thought that she had forgave-betrayed-broken hearted-reconciled again and again.

She loved Qin Wen Yu but she had no confidence at all and was scared that he could not be a good father to the baby. But the most horrible thing was when she realized that she no longer trust Qin Wen Yu. She told Qin Shi to take care of the divorce and persuade Qin Wen Yu.

Qin Wen Yu did not believe that Ren Mei Mei would leave him, the company, or his mother. Qin Shi said that she could not help him this time. Qin Wen Yu exploded and accused Qin Shi that had she not instigated Ren Mei Mei, she would not leave. Therefore, Qin Shi must be responsible for it. His words angered Qin Shi. She yelled back that his marriage was not her responsibility. It was not her fault if Qin Wen Yu angered his wife again and again. She did not ask him to hang out with his bad friend and get close to so many women every day.

Qin Shi explained that all this time, every time Ren Mei Mei and Qin Wen Yu fought, she knew that they would not be apart. She could see from their eyes that they loved each other. But this time was different. She could not help him and told Qin Wen Yu to start being responsible for his life. No matter what decision Ren Mei Mei took, Qin Wen Yu should take care of his life first.
